HOW MANY CANDIDATES DID APPLY FOR SUPERINTENDENT?

The question comes because of a source letting us know from deep inside central that only one person  applied which is the current finalist.  We know from reports and from some board members that kept telling us that they had finalists and those were the ones given further inquiry but we will never know who they were or proof that they actually existed.

The biggest thing is that the selection is so secretive.  In reading the Santa Fe paper, Ray and Associates used them to find Boyd.  Now they feel Ray and Associates took him away.  So it seems that the search may not have been a search but basically a selection of the person they already knew about.  Makes us wonder how Ray and Associates functions and what connections they have to the people who are sending Broad superintendents around the country.  Below you will see that there is a connection with bringing non-traditional candidates and the connection to the Broad program, etc.

As we mentioned some calls were being made from central office to find candidates to apply and that's what we confirmed.  Now of course board members can let us know if this true or not and what evidence can they provide.  We know first hand from the people who made the calls.  The news reports 100s of applicants but Boyd says in the paper that he was called, just as he was called to Santa Fe.  But was he really called because of what he does or is it the connection with Ray and Associates that they keep tabs on their preferred candidates?  We know TFA and Broad people are moved to make changes quickly and swiftly around the country.  Check out Atlanta, Dallas, etc.

Non-traditional is key here because Mr. Boyd was assistant to the chief in Miami-Dade then went to Philly, got principal and moved up quickly by the person connected to the Broad style leadership who then he took to Santa Fe.  Dallas superintendent also has an assistant who is TFA, young.  The leader of the teacher performance evaluation is TFA and so on.  The training is not coincidental.

One reason a member said the process was secretive is because they didn't want the candidates bosses to know which makes sense to some degree but how can you hide it?  You have to ask for time off to travel or as the process went, did Skype or teleconference which to me as a finalist would be more in person.  This is why we ask for transparency when the there is so much done behind closed doors, hence the raises, etc.  SO now we depend on the same people to pick the new person without more input than just community sessions that who knows if they are taken into account.  This keeps getting weirder and weirder......

  1. Sadly and once again, this has Needham, Koehler, and M.J. written all over it. Another scam on the taxpayers at the expense of children. So it all comes down to these questions: 1. How many Board Members aside from Robbins, Needham, Jackson and Paz knew there was only one candidate and lied to the public? 2. What are the Minority Communities, Taxpayer advocates, Tea Party and Liberal activists going to do? Tatum has been silenced; Cinto bought off with a job. Were Moss and Sims part of this? 3. Can criminal charges be filed against the Board for this scam? 4. How about it Ann? Were you part of this?

  2. See my comments under the letter to Dr. Boyd post about this issue

  3. This story goes too far, even for CIAFWISD. We all know Sorum applied, so that is at least two. Come on, let's use this site for real issues.

  4. News Flash "Parent". The TRUTH never goes to far. As to "We all know Sorum applied...." How do you know that? He has denied applying to anyone who has asked. Another bogus posting just trying to trash Fort Worth's ONLY source of unfiltered information.

  5. Right. Like the "TMZ" comment? At least we can freely come here and expose what is happening to children in this district.

  6. We reviewed video presentations by 16 candidates. They were responding to our questions, It's not quite an "interview" but made it possible to take a good look at them before deciding which 7 we wanted to interview in person. The vote on the 7 interviews was done by secret ballot and involved ranking of the entire 16-person field.

  7. Okay Guest, you had me (a little) until you brought up "in the real world!" Well, in the real world, someone with a GED wouldn't be making 12k more a year than a degreed teacher! WAKE UP! Yes, some of this blog can get cheesey but, TMZ (hardly fair). I say give the new Super. a chance and then we can decide. In the meantime, how about we address what's certain and not conjecture. If this guy isn't worthy, we will know soon enough!

So the board picked a person in one month from 100s of applications, looked at videos, interviewed all 7, in person did I hear, and then Boyd was always on top. Can we see the criteria that set him apart from the rest. What was the make up of the rest of the finalists, race, ethnicity, background, etc. Educational experience, years of exp.

If this is how we do it to contract people we think the board should do a PD session for HCM on how to hire people because this is record time. How many vacancies do we still have and can't get filled?

    Just a thought....

  9. If you are the real "No Strings", the one who defends Vasquez, I guess that explains your inconsistent "give him a chance" attitude. The same logic no doubt Carlos used with M.J. She left a trail of disasters similar to this guy. We don't need this again.

  10. More rocks and pandering "Parent"? My name is not Joe or Joel.

  11. Sylvia actually,

  12. Yes, it's the real No Strings Attached! LMFAO! I am fairly certain that Carlos wasn't a fan of MJ. I actually think he really hated her but, that's just my opinion. Look I'm not saying that I support the new Super. On the contrary, I merely point out that we should focus on what we know for CERTAIN! The BOE brought us MJ, Dansby, Linares, and now pretty boy Boyd. It's not who they bring in (silly) that's the problem; It is that they (BOE) are responsible for EVERYTHING! This is where the problem lies. The Board must be changed in order to really entertain any hope of real change. Unfortunately, there are so many of their cronies running amuck in Administration, there must be a big sweep here too! Without both things happening, lasting reform may never come to fruition. I don't think it's possible to be effective with so little classroom experience either but, as long as a corrupt Board is choosing; I'm not sure what you were hoping for? Ann is the only one with whom I have any faith!

  13. I was hoping for Robert.

  15. Its hard to believe anyone can defend this selection in light of the comments from Parents and Teachers in every City this guy has been. What was this Board thinking? Ashley you truly embarrassed yourself. Since the process the Board use was again flawed (present finalists; wait 21 days; have public selection and vote for final choice vs. what they did) I think someone or group may consider legal action or a complaint to the A.G. Hard to believe they selected an Anglo.

  16. Read my blog. We had 20 hours of in-person interviews with the 7 and then 3-1/2 more hours with Dr. Boyd. It seems to me that people are so traumatized by the SCAs and other problems that they are jumping to conclusions and missing important facts. I'm not going to post again on this topic but I hope readers will be diligent in making sure they understand the process.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nothing like running from the problem Ann. Your process like everything else this Board does, is flawed and incorrect. Who in the heck did you guys listen to this time?

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is such a BS comment. Strangely similar to "Enough said" on Sutherland's blog. The real loser here is Ashley Paz and her bonehead quote. So obvious the Board never bothered to check this guy out. Also tells you what they RRALLY think of teachers - to hire someone like this.

  19. Ok, so let's look at some more recent articles from Santa Fe. Among fastest improving school districts? Who said that the proof is in the pudding? http://www.abqjournal.com/446246/north/sfps-among-fastestimproving-districts-in-nm.html

  20. Ok, so here's another one. Santa Fe sees increase in graduation rates? Surely not with someone so inexperienced in charge!

  21. STOP the chaos and give this young man a chance. Let's see what he can do...this district is a mess and at least he will try! White, black, brown; does not matter...if his heart is for the children that is all that matters.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You can experiment with our children but not MINE!! We have had enough of this crap over the past two dozen years - we don't need it again. He had his chance everywhere he has been and look at how he left those places! The "chaos" begins and ends with the School Board under Needham and her lieutenants. They can't even follow State Law on how the selection process is supposed to be run. Wake up!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Expect the same old crap...NOTHING will change except raises for those that do not deserve them, promotions to those that are not qualified and more nepotism and cover ups. Our city's children do not have a chance.

  24. Weren't these the results obtained from the cheating scandals? Ya. Fit right in with the MJ program. "Real Teacher" my ass.

Well we would but he wrote it. Show us the data and will gladly sing the praises. See Dallas ISD The Hub where all the good things are shown and the bad are reported on the news. Think of North Korea propaganda.
But if it did happen great. We look forward to community involvement and input from everyone. Autonomy for schools. Etc. can't wait.

  26. If you guys are so disgusted by the district, LEAVE. Find a new job! Quit you complaining and wasting our kids time! I'm glad we don't have teachers like you at Paschal. Our teachers actually give a cr@@ about the students. Not spending their so called planning time ready this garbage. Find a new job.

  27. This is Sorum. What a joke. With all his underlings voting "up". If this guy were smart he would leave before he begins. I know of at least one Civil Rights complaint being filed for sure, More will follow. And by the way, MJ was at the Admin Bldg today, parking in her old spot. How in the hell do you explain that?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hey Privileged Asshole - I am from Paschal and we can only change this swamp from within. Really doubt you are parent. Certainly not Hispanic, African American, or under-privileged Anglo.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Probably though MJ was the "greatest Superintendent"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Right your a teacher at Paschal. Probably some Heights teacher still upset about your psycho AP that was FIRED, yes FIRED! Oh, and yes I am a white parent, and proud of it.

  31. More "North Korean" style propaganda put out by the ISD. Like Robbins claiming FWISD does not retaliate. FWISD=retaliation. This selection is a joke.

  32. I just realized when I read your ridiculous comment - you are probably Tobi Jackson.

    ReplyDelete
  33. She was you idiot!

    ReplyDelete
  34. LMFAO! Yep. You are destined to go far in life my drug impaired friend!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just read Ann Sutherland's Blog. The fix is in as Sorum is clobbering us again with SCA's. Hard to believe there are people as stupid or naïve as this one: " wait & see said on 2/9/15 - 01:08PM Just read the list of accomplishments of Dr. Boyd- if he can accomplish a portion of these things in FWISD, it will be vast improvement! Example: Increased the one-day completion rate of technology work orders from 5% to 59%. Reduced the average maintenance work order completion time from 31 days to 11 days!Expanded learning opportunities for the district’s youngest students by quadrupling the number of pre-K seats available."
Obviously not a Teacher or Employee under MJ.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Farther than you, apparently!

  37. I'm tired of reading some of these fwisd ass kissing remarks, like PHS Parent and Parent, or should I say, Tobi Jackson. Cut the crap you entitled white waste of DNA!!! You are a horrible trustee like you are a parent. What parent cares more about their political career than allowing her own daughter to be who she is? You are part of the problem...all of you on the board are. You hire who you do in order to continue to keep your corruption under wraps. You line your pockets with the blood, sweat and tears of our employees and students, who always get the short end of the stick. You know NOTHING about the real people on the frontlines. All you board members care about is your cash cow, aka fwisd. This new superintendent is just a pawn, like Dansby was, and Johnson before him, and Tocco before her. The common denominator is The Crypt Keeper Needham and will continue to be as long as she is sucking up the same air I breath. This district needs a superintendent for show, a face of a mere puppet to champion Needham and Sorum's lame concoctions. I'm all about letting people do what they say they will do, but if you prove me wrong and show your true colors, I will be the first to say "I told you so". I will rub it in your face, like most of us did after Johnson and Dansby's regime. Dr. Boyd, I hope you know you have sold your soul to the Devil, by coming to this district to serve under Needham and her minions. Good luck because you are going to need it, that and a really thick skin! We will be watching and listening closely in the next 21 days.

  39. Funny how you say "not spending their so called planning time ready [sic] this garbage", yet your "reading" this garbage a lot, judging from your comments and different pseudonyms. You've been reading these stories and commenting for a while and so have others on the board. You stopped people from commenting on the STAR, by using a log in on FB, to keep people from commenting the truth. CIA is for "truth", not theories or conjecture. That is the real issue here isn't it? The truth ALWAYS get shot down, when people have a lot to lose by it! So, Tobi, put on your big girl panties and find another place to defend yourself and your evildoer friends. This site is not YOUR debating corner, it is OUR site to share TRUTH, something the STAR and sometimes The Weekly, seem to forget about.
