PEOPLE FLYING THE COOP

So people are leaving fast and furious.  They come to FWISD to promote themselves, lie as we say and then once they got the title they flee. 

Sajade Miller got a boost for failing at schools and is now Chief of Schools at Desoto ISD.  Our system sure like to promote people who can talk a good game.  Sad state of affairs.


Then Bradford goes back to Spring ISD and now heads their department after only being the director before FWISD. 


SCRIBNER CONTRACT EXTENDED

So Scribner gets his contract extended until 2023 with a bonus.  It takes failing schools to get more money and nothing for staff.  It so happens that he was looking at the Houston ISD job and FWISD decided to keep him.  Laughable that he would try Houston because there they do have stuff in order better than FWISD.  He would not fit it, there they do dig up corruption not like here.

LET'S REVISIT OUR PRIORITIES

We did a piece on the hiring practices of the district on the premise of equity of which we have seen none.  A district of more than 65% Hispanic population has been focused on only 22% of the student body and forgotten the rest.

Here we have Ashley Paz whose only priority is Daggett Montessori where her children attend and then we have Ramos who is only concerned with North Side High where his children attend.

What about the rest?  When do the other students get the same treatment as their own children?

Where is equity in that?

No one is concerned for the district as whole only with their self-interests.

Restorative, huh????

Besides JP Elder, how many secondary schools are actually using restorative practices AND have the data to back it up? There may be pockets of teachers that have embraced it but overall it is a highly infective program in secondary schools. The one high school that is supposed to be using it is an epic failure. By the way, the leader of that epic failure is now an assistant superintendent.

Let’s talk about money that could be used for...say...more secondary teachers. The district is spending well over a half a million dollars on this program. About two thirds of that money goes to an outside consulting group and about 80% of that money goes straight into the pocket of the illustrious founder of NEDRP who disguises his program as his “ministry” AKA Joel Osteen. The rest of the money goes to an RP department that has so much infighting and drama that they can't even get on the same page of teaching people how to build relationships, interesting. Speaking of the RP department, why is the entire department African American, with the exception of 1 person, while our district is 67% Hispanic? Does that sound like equity and excellence Mrs. Breed?

We can’t go without saying that this entire program, being disguised as a sustainable process, is being spearheaded by 2 people that have NEVER worked in a school, Michael Steinert and Christopher Riddick.

FWISD IR SCHOOL MOTTO: BETTER ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST

NO surprise here folks about the results of the standings of FWISD.  Some improvement in elementary schools but unbelievable that high schools, the stage of where students make it or not, are mainly under.  Just see who they put in charge, who they promoted and the money spent, no results.

The famous phrase in politics, "It's the economy, stupid."

Well here money is not the entire answer, "It's the CULTURE, stupid."

This is on Washington and her crew, they are responsible for it and knowing the culture nothing will change.  No matter how much money you spend, if you are not getting the results then it's time to clean house.

Oh, RAMOS?  Your work finally paid off at Diamond Hill HS, ruined just like you wanted so that North Side could take everything.  Great job!

911 CALL TO THE BOARD AND SUPERINTENDENT FROM GROUNDS AND LANDSCAPING

We received this email seeking help and support!

Will they listen?

Dear Board and Superintendent- 911
 We ask for your intervention before there are casualties in the Grounds and Landscaping department.
Many of us have reported and alerted Art Cavazos and Gil Griffin, but they do nothing to protect us or investigate the outcries. Instead they allow retaliation and ignore the concerns. Carl Jackson and Hubert Miller use their positions to intimidate, lie, and abuse employees for years. Griffin refuses to acknowledge the voices of countless complaints. 
There will soon be a changing of the guard, but this will not relieve the toxic environment. It will only become worse.
We ask for your help to charge these leaders: Griffin and Cavazos to conduct a full in-depth investigation WITHOUT their usual retaliation and save lives before FWISD makes the front page of the Star Telegram and social media.

SAJADE MILLER PROMOTED TO OVERSEE IR SCHOOLS

There is always so much irony in the hiring practices of FWISD because the failures seem to always move up the career ladder fast.
So the schools he oversaw are all now IR campuses and now he is in a newly created department as an assistant superintendent.  So if someone is not qualified for the job, what is the only way to move up?

CONNECTIONS!

So he and his family are well connected to none other than Washington.  So now Miller will be helping schools that are in IR status when he couldn't do it himself.

Scribner is unhappy but he is a puppet so nothing will change.

How is that for the FWISD way?

THE RAMOS CURSE HITS KEVIN GREENE

If you all didn't get to read the Star story on Kevin Greene, it says a lot more than we have heard about how the district manages people's lives.  Everything we read in there is what we have been pushing for years even before this blog.  Now we have Ramos who is getting what he wants, when he wants it and at whatever cost.  We know the TCU kickbacks, etc.  

Well it so happens that Ramos had his feelings hurt when his son was questioned by either Greene or someone in athletics at a sporting event.  We don't have the full story but we are sure someone has more info to share.  Based on this, Greene went down as the story says.  

This is the Fort Worth way!

PALAZZOLO APPEAL

A bit late on the news as the Palazzolo saga continues.  Brandt keeps appealing to have the case thrown out and is denied each time.  Sutherland has indicated that he has no authority, like we have said before, the board has not voted on anything which means he is acting on his own.  He forgets there are protocols but the board itself has allowed this to happen.

ASHLEY PAZ TURNS A BLIND EYE TO EQUITY

It turns out that Ashley Paz has decided she won't butt into school affairs when the people she serves, teachers and students, are asking for her help.  Some schools are re-organizing to put science classes in portables for whatever reason.  Ashley Paz says it's in the best interest of students to do it.

They may want to look at OSHA standards and safety standards on what you call a lab.  Where are chemicals going?  Where are you putting hazardous materials?  A little call to agencies may have them think otherwise.  But the main point here is that the education model the district is pursuing is ruining opportunities for students and teachers for better learning.

Ashley, did you sleep in class or where do you think moving labs to portables is ok?  Guess the TCU diploma didn't help you to reason at all.

You would butt into school affairs when it benefits you or your friends.

NORTH SIDE COACH TURNER AND PRINCIPAL MARTINEZ COMPLICIT OF BULLYING AND ASSAULT ON STUDENT

This was sent by someone at North Side who has seen the despicable conditions and no one in authority is doing anything.  This Coach Turner is destroying student lives.  



North side high school there was a kid who was recovering from acl and coach turner made him do unnecessary punishment and made him do many punishments in which he was not cleared to participate the kid was fed up with coach turner with the daily bullying and sexual harassment and at time choking and wrestling with kids and the influence on drugs he puts on these kids this kid is top of his class student straight A's at times and was treated like the worse foe being smart this kid decided to stop showing up to his 8th period athletics Turner was counting him present every day because he never tales attendance this kid was hiding from this coach 3 wks later Turner reports this kid for skipping his class to principle martinez when the kid told martinez that he has every reason to skip because he doesnt want to be abuse or bullied every day and be called names such as bitch Martinez did not care at all and placed this straight A kid in iss with coach turner and during his time in iss he kept being harrased by the coach and bothered telling him that he was never going be able to get him in trouble because him and martinez are best friends. This kid was made to lose credit for his absences and was not allowd to drop the class he doesnr need this kid asked one of his teachers who has a law degree for help the teacher read the rules and help him write a complaint letter and was going be his representative this kid still didnt go back to athletics because he knew exactly what was going happen the kid had to finally come out and tell serious examples turner has done to him like hit him and point a starter gun at him in 2 different occasions when the kid's mother finally found out about the situation she talked to one administrator 1st Martinez was in a meeting when martinez came back from the meeting the first thing he told his mom was that i already talked to coach turner he said he never pointed at gun at your son the kid told him mom that he most likely told him to hide the gun rather than investigating like always just covering for his reports in sexual harrassmenr the principle was no help at all he said who am i supposed to believe your child or my coach he told his mother if hes really scared of being bullied just transfer him to diamond hill or carter he didnr bothered to listen to the kid and refused to drop the class for the kid and refused to do anything regarding the coach a report was made with the police and. The district and it seems like always Martinez and turner are going get their way and the kid sits in the office for his 8th period but continues to be bullied daily and now the teacher who helped him is being forced to move schools for helping the kid because a so call surplus when hes been at the school for 5 yrs and has some of the best ap scores in the district and is one of the most respected teachers at ns and works 12 hours daily helping these kids with their problems and who had a room so comfortable for many kids well thats it martinez and turner covering up for themselves while messing up these kids lives allowing these horrible stuff

Letter to Deborah Traylor/Cherie Washington

Late posting but related to the testing debacle that Deborah got nothing for.

Deborah Traylor was written up for taking pictures and video in an active test site.  Washington and now others have covered it up or, have tried to.  Now, other school districts have heard about this too.  Fort Worth ISD is the laughingstock of North Texas education system!  I wonder why these two left Dallas ISD?  There needs to be an investigation of the top administrators including Scribner because he has been in this district long enough to know the elitists bullying and snobbery that, like puss, has infected Fort Worth ISD for years!
In the gymnasium at Morningside Middle School, Deborah Traylor took out her phone while students were testing and took pictures and video without prior approval form TEA!
She was written up by the three teachers who saw her make this bone-headed move and, as of yet, nothing has happened to her.
She didn’t say why she was doing this but later used the excuse that she was taking pictures because there was too much teacher movement and gym was being used because it made the test coordinator’s job easier.  Not true at all.  It’s called active monitoring and teachers are required to do this at all times even when they aren’t testing.  They have been written up for not being up and moving around the room.  
Two things, first, it is a known fact that, as quoted from the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, Test Administrator Manual, “No person may duplicate, print, record, write notes about, or capture (electronically or by any other means) any portion of a secure assessment instrument (paper or online) without prior approval from TEA.  Districts may not duplicate and retain student compositions.”   
If Traylor had permission from TEA why was she written up by the people who witnessed her actions?  What were her original intentions for taking photographs and video?  Did she have a 24 hour palsy that produced tremors that made her yank out her phone and take pictures and video?
Second, did she also check each student’s Media Release Forms to know if the parents gave permission for their children to be photographed?  No one seems to care about that!  Are students not more important than standardized tests?   
If any teacher, teacher’s assistant or staff had illegally, as Traylor did, photographed or videoed an active test site they would have been fired immediately!  And she would have enjoyed making it happen!
As it is now, Traylor still has a job and is blaming the teachers and the test coordinator. In fact she is now following up on her fabricated excuse by making it impossible for testing to take place in the gym at all.  This site is desperately needed and has been working for four years and there’s never been a problem…until now when Deborah Traylor was caught taking picture without prior approval from TEA.
Morningside faculty has to cram the students that would normally be in the gym into classrooms that are too small.  There will be 30 students in each testing room and extra people will have to be pulled to make this happen.  
The students will be cramped and behaviors will escalate.  It’s almost like she’s trying to sabotage Morningside Middle School but, why and at what expense?  
We have something tangible to hang on to that highlights the favoritism and illegal actions by people who, up until now, have gotten away with this kind of garbage.  
This is why public education isn’t working!  People at the top who can’t get over the fact that they actually made something out of themselves.  Gigantic egos and social skills that rival Saddam Hussein’s; I’m not kidding!  This has got to stop!  We cannot let this go!  If we do, we just might deserve it, and that’s just not true.  
This is our conduit educators!  (not that we needed one/or/ more) Don’t let it go!!!
Civil disobedience worked for Gandhi and Martin Luther; they did the right thing!  Do the teachers of FWISD have the same ambition?  Absolutely!   There are around 5000 teachers, many paraprofessionals and admin!  The tail’s wagging the dog.  We need to take our district back!!!  So from now until something is done we are wearing purple bracelets.  Purple for peace (because we have more class).  It’s time to go Gandhi educators!

There are many people who have been hurt by Deborah Traylor and Cherie Washington.  How many of our names do they remember?  We all know theirs!  It isn’t very often a person encounters someone as mean and heartless as these women and the people around them so, we remember them.  People who have fed their ego with bits and pieces of their pride, dignity and humility.
Deborah Traylor and Cherie Washington, when it is time for you face God will he say, “Thank you for caring so deeply for my children, your brothers and sisters or, will he look at you unsmiling with sadness and ask, “Why did you treat my children that way?”

HOUSE OF CARDS ON STEROIDS

The district never ceases to amaze in the debacles and complete denigration of values or whatever you want to call them.

With staff being placed in other schools and hiring outside of the district to say that it is because people will retire or leave and they need to recruit.  How do you recruit when you have more than 100 people hanging in the balance?  They are doing a purge from what it looks like because any sensible person would see it as a no brainer.

Now comes this soap opera show at the board meeting of the dinosaurs fighting each other.  Does it really matter who ends up president?  They vote for each other and they are surprised at the results?  It was a show and nothing more!

911! STAFFING

Just today.....

So principals are upset that Leadership has completely taken over the process of staffing and hiring.  HCM and Budget were uninvited to the meetings for whatever reason.  So Washington and the directors are now in charge of the cutting which means more preferential treatment for their own people.  It seems now that they are going against any established protocol that has been in place for years.  Principals have no voice or choice in hiring anymore.

TOP ADMIN COMMITS STAAR IRREGULARITY

The deafening ears in Fort Worth would not have caught a top admin taking pictures of a STAAR test and tell the public because it is hidden under the rug.  But had it been a teacher, he or she would of been fired, picture in the paper and a whole life destroyed.  So this Washington protege is none other than Deborah Traylor.  She was at Morningside, apparently, watching testing when their side says she was not happy at the way testing was going.  So she took out her phone and started taking pictures of kids and the test.  Teachers were asked to write statements because according to the law, that is an irregularity and violation.  So now we have more criminals masquerading as directors and supervisors to join the Wall of Shame in FWISD.

Will we see it in the paper?  Does TEA know about this?

FWISD CUTS TEACHERS TO PAY TOP ADMIN AND MORE LITIGATION

We already know that Scribner lied about investing in students and teachers by adding six million more dollars to the top.  What we have is a sleepy public who is not willing to challenge the regime at all.  We have seen some comments on facebook about starting to push a bit but during elections we only see the same apathy.

Now with the Palazzolo case, a trial date has been set in July and what tactic has FWISD come up with?  Nothing but another appeal which is laughable.  Regardless of what it contains FWISD is paying for it so some of that money to cut teachers is going to Brandt the lawyer.  The coffers are only for friends, family and lawyers in FWISD.  What a gift to teachers during teacher appreciation week.  Teachers, expect a cheap trinket from the dollar store if that!

WHAT'S UNDER THE FWISD RUG?

This dead horse has been beaten enough that it is still dead and that horse is FWISD.  It seems things keep getting worse and worse with no slim hope of things changing.

We have seen this new 8 period/ 45 minute teaching time that is to improve teaching and learning.  We are not a PHD as some admin are but that surely did not help them to realize that less time and more periods won't make a difference.  Now, having two periods off to plan and also for PD can work in some instances but not at the expense of bigger classes.  It would also be beneficial when you have a PD department that knows what they are doing and are strategic about how to support staff on stuff that is meaningful and not just a program bought to appease a friend as in LII and such.  If this is the magic solution then why didn't Washington perform the miracle when she was principal?  Did we see the STAAR results change?  What data shows this will completely change things for the benefit of students and teachers?  No one has done their research so the answer is no.

What else do we have under rug....

1. is it unethical for a supervisor to borrow money from his or her employee?

2. Chaos and violent behavior being ignored in the maintenance department under Gil Griffin.

3. Gender and race inequities in hiring practices under Art Cavazos and his departments.

4. Board member's family earning over half a million dollars in scholarships.  In Mexico and the US that is called corruption.  Guess who it is.

5. Who really works 10 hour days during the summer?  Not principals!

6. Why is Needham hiring all of her friends at AHHS without certifications?

7. David Guerra the new Athletic Director was hired yet FWISD spent a fortune on a recruiting firm.  His son attends AHHS so expect the perks to start.

8. Race and Equity training costs millions and nothing has changed.

CHALE! RAMOS HITS THE JACKPOT AGAIN

One time thing would be like ok maybe that Ramos' son got a TCU scholarship because apparently he deserved it over all other needy students.

And what do you know, son number 2 got the same thing.

There is no shame in that family whatsoever, passing up students who qualified as well and needed it the most.  He is at TCU and he can get favors for it but no.

Said state of affairs friends and no one to stand up to him.  Karma will have to do the job for us!

FIRE SIDE CHAT (Memo from the editor)

Without going into a long sermon in response to the many comments and inquiries about the stories posted, let me clear up a few things and then go at it.


There have always been claims that the site is bogus, self-serving, and basically a place to just complain.  The site was started almost three years ago to start having the discussions about the ailments of this district, FWISD.  The district has a hush hush culture that allow the individuals now in power to do their bidding as they wish.  We all know about the corruption with Tocco so that is not false.  We all know about the continued corruption, cover up and nepotism of the board and now the enjoining administration.  You can judge the postings as you wish but the information received comes from people within the district who have no voice.  We have sent information to the DA, the department of education, OCR, etc. and nothing will happen when the politicians are also in bed with the administration.  So you can say all you want but we expose what we can with the resources that we have so that the minority in this situation is not silenced.

Back in 2013 we felt we had the opportunity to change a few things but we were all disappointed with the individuals we now feature here who basically turned their backs on the majority who supported them.  So we will continue to push forward regardless of the trolls that defend their entitlements with the people that are harming the students and teachers of this district.

Call it what you want, freedom of expression is what we will hold onto and if anyone wants to refute anything we invite them.  No comment has been blocked here as you notice how vicious the trolls are.  We stand tall and will not allow them to change the narrative.  Remember when people are backed into a corner they will attack and so we see it.  This means we hit a good nerve and proven our point.

Remember this BAM Ramos? This was the mantra back in 2013- we are living it and we will not be silent.

MILITANT RAMOS FILLS NORTH SIDE HS WITH HATE

We could laugh and bash Ramos, as we will, and move along because some may not think that this forum is not a serious avenue about exposing the wrongs in this district.  But this posting is about a man who has truly transformed a community and more specifically a school where students are being brainwashed to hate another race.
Some can question the source of the posting but what is undeniable is how the Honorable Jacinto Ramos, Jr. a representative on the school board gave a hate speech at North Side on how racism is to blame for everything that has happened to him and all around him.  Remember that everything is tied to him and how he comes across as being denied or done wrong.  So the quest for him is not to help anyone else but to only better his image and his inner circle.
The interesting thing here is that when he speaks to the "White" audience his tune is completely different because they pay him for what he does but then he bashes them off the bat.  He bashes the Mayor and other city officials.  So this particular speech was posted then deleted because of what it contained.

His goal is to have all Mexican principals, teachers, coaches, etc. at North Side.  He has SB4 leaders doing his bid and is involved in orchestrating the entire SB4 movement which is an affront to the immigrant community.

People within the community indicate that white teachers are scared to go to work because he has turned the students against them. Remember he gave this speech on how racism is engrained in American society as seeing all peoples as the enemy.  Now he is on a witch hunt to find out who leaked the video of the speech so that it doesn't affect his image within the district.  Technically he would be in violation of many ethical laws and policies and overall a person of moral character if he has any left.

The district is covering up the issue by stating that no such event took place even as he called each grade level and gave the hate filled speech.  So when you hear him talk about courageous conversations, that is just lingo for how he wants his followers to be.  Camp Community is the birthplace of his journey and as he spoke to them at their annual meeting.  He completely turned it into something that benefitted him and did not speak about how much he hates the very people sitting there who supported him.

WAIT, WHAT? @ POLY HS

For some reason we didn't get the memo on the assignment of Nick Torres at Poly HS.  Did hell freeze over?

What criteria or what type of sensical crap did central admin eat that they thought Nick Torrez could run a high school that needs heavy investment to change the culture and quality of education?

He ran the elementary school he was given to the ground then went to middle school and did crap and now he is to magically turn Poly around?  All it is is a stepping stone to central office.  Watch him become a director or something just to keep the Lemons moving.

We want to say so many things but would take too much energy.

So, it appears that Nick, as always, has his favorites and well it's a woman.  Let's not forget his comes from the same clan as the Race Baiting Board Member Ramos.  So it appears this woman is a SPED teacher who is supposed to do her job as all others.  But because she was handpicked and favored by the principal she has told the staff not to put her to do ARDs or anything even when some are her own students.
The students are failing, she is not certified at that, yet the Nick standards apply.  Low Standards.

Stick together Poly teachers because Nick has his list and checking it twice of people he is going to get rid of.  So keep an eye out and document everything and play the game, smile and look pretty.

Pretty soon FWISD will take the Nick trash and dump it at central admin.

IN-EQUITY AND EXCELLENCE DEPARTMENT

What have we said before, when you keep the same people thinking they will do something different, it never happens.  And so we come to the Department of Equity and Excellence run by none other than Sherry Breed.  If you have ever heard the concept of when people are moved around as Lemons, then she is the prodigy.  They can't find anywhere to put her until she disappears but she has more lives than cats.

So it appears that "courageous" conversations have been happening around the district about racial inequality in the education of our students.  We understand there is a need to look into institutional racism that does help open up opportunities for students of color to succeed.  But the question here is what color?

Without getting into a debate on race, etc.  Let's start with how the department is supposed to model equity with the personnel they have hired.  Recently, the Student Engagement Department under Riddick hired 5 black women and one hispanic male.  With a district that is close to 70% Hispanic, it doesn't appear that there is equity.  At the same time, we do have anglos which may be represented in departments run by an anglo director.  So if we are having conversations, where is it changing the district?  Leadership? schools? where? Are all students being represented here in outreach?  We don't see it!

Where is the BAM Board Member Ramos who speaks of Mexican-American Studies, African-American Studies to promote pride in our students?  Wait, we hear he is so popular at TCU trying to date his students.  The focus is not on FWISD, it is on self-preservation.  Yes folks, we do have the source.  But that doesn't matter anymore because he is waiting for his next big gig.  Rumor has it he wants to run against Marc Veasey.. PFFF!  Almost choked on the premise that he has more to offer.  He doesn't know politics that well, perhaps TCU can give him a Political Science Degree to make him look credible.

Ashley Paz?  Are you there?  You speak that these conversations are so valuable yet we don't see anyone out there making the changes.  You see to Lead it means to speak and to create the change that you want.  I guess your degree at TCU did not teach you much about that.

Take a look at the department and if there is a Hispanic in there then point it out...

Just another year folks of inefficient leadership or any kind of sense making in running a school district by the administration.

You have a board that governs from atop and looks down at the very heart of who is keeping the district running, teachers and support staff.  All at the admin building could give a rats ass what happens because they keep getting their fat checks each time.  The board provides them the incentives and the rest of us get crap.

Just look at the recent events and this is coming from within the board.. seems Sutherland must have been duped again and is now talking.  Still they are important happenings because otherwise we would not know how much we are appreciated (sarcasm) by the administration.




WE TOLD YOU SO!!!  The Leadership academies were broken from the beginning, not even mentioning pay, the idea that you could replicate and run something without due diligence was a blunder.  Yet students and staff suffer.
