UPDATE: A Tale or the Truth About Same old Hiring Practices at FWISD?

UPDATE 8-19-14

We received word today that co-workers verify the story regarding how things unfolded at the Juvenile Detention Center and the personal issues that resulted from all of this and an innocent victim in the middle.  If someone else has other facts to provide, we welcome them because we know there are two sides to every story.  Some have indicated that this is going too far into a personal issue.  We say that if it was us teachers that were involved in something similar we would be fired on the spot.  We want everyone to be held accountable.  We are talking about the integrity and what an individual represents and presents to the public.  The situation occurred in the capacity of a public official or representative of an entity.

As you watch the board meeting we stand vigilant on making sure we hold board members accountable for what they do and say on behalf of the district.  We will make sure we get as many facts as possible and thanks to citizens who are sharing information.

So now I take you to a comment made by a reader regarding an employee named Claudia Martinez.  The comment alluded to some influence by board member Ramos as to the reason Ms. Martinez got hired and placed under Raul Perez whom we know is a supporter of Mr. Ramos.  To offer some background, Ms. Martinez worked at the Juvenile Detention Center where she and Mr. Ramos worked.  Apparently she got fired and was pregnant at the time.  Right after the election Ms. Martinez was hired by FWISD.  From all indications Ms. Martinez and Mr. Ramos have a long history together at Camp Community.  According to sources this caused a personal family situation for both individuals.  Ms. Martinez went on to marry another man while pregnant.

Individuals who have seen photos of the child, which we will not post, indicate that the child has a strong resemblance to Mr. Ramos.  When we look at the picture we notice the eyes, the nose and basically the facial features when comparing.  Again we are just comparing and noticing the similarities but obviously we do not know if this is true regarding a relationship that may have resulted in the hiring.  We will leave this to those that know anything but we wanted to respond to what a reader stated because we want to make sure ethics is upheld.

Let us know if this is a bunch of nothing or some truth to it.  Many looked forward to the new people ending the connections to obtain employment and instead use the merit of their expertise.  We shall see.

  1. I think CIA should review each Board Member - starting here with CInto - the SAME way Needham had Palazzolo's life taken apart. And he wasn't the only one.

  3. I have no idea if the above is true or not. I do have a suggestion for the new FWISD Board Members. If this bothers you, consider what you put employees through on a daily basis. I have several Teacher friends who have brought complaints before the Board - yes, even with its new members. You do not have any idea how hard it is for someone devoted to teaching children, perhaps with a family of their own, to come before you with a problem. Though you are new, those sitting next to you are well known to us. They have been there way too long and are THE biggest part of the problem in FWISD. They have been involved in a wide variety of scandals over the years, yet each time have escaped justice. They continue to cover-up and retaliate. Some are "free lance employment agencies" for family and friends. Just this past year, one Board Member had a coach removed from his position at AHHS and replaced by a friend with no teaching or coaching experience - not even certified - who sat in a lab for most of the day playing on a computer. He collected the same pay we did. Do you have any idea how demoralizing that is? Back to my point, we see three new people who we hope will try as Ann Sutherland does, to listen and research our problem. Two of you are asleep at the wheel. When we come before you, some of you fall asleep; some eat; some can't be bothered. Some obviously already have their mind made up. For female employees who have been assaulted on the job, this is the ultimate humiliation. You continue to allow the most incompetent to run our District. Their incompetence breeds insecurity and thus retaliation which is all around. We all know what you did and continue to do to Palazzolo; Chavez, Salinas, Tennyson, Gonzalez and others. Do you not see anything wrong with that? Yet how differently you react when someone calls you out. The change starts with you. We in the trenches know what it will take to turn this around. It is not $30 million more in technology we may never see; it is not more testing; or humiliation. Its not misrepresenting what Tatum did in order to look good. Stop listening to the likes of Needham, Robbins, Sims, and Moss. Look at where the leadership has gotten FWISD. Do something to change the environment of FWISD for the better.

  5. We went back and forth and weighed in on exactly what you comment. While we want to ensure that the innocent don't get in the middle, if this is true, we can't keep quiet. We put it out there for those that know more to say so and if this is complete speculation then we will let it rest. We brought it up because of the continued practice of hiring based on who you know. What we can confirm is that people close to the family knows that there were complications within the relationship due to this. Whether anything happened between the two, we don't, but there had to be cause. If it was the case, then it could have been another employee at the time that could of been said was involved in some way, but why Ms. Martinez? When the truth hurts is when they attempt to hide it, blame the word or seek revenge. When you know it's not true then rub it off. Simple things that I am sure we as teachers teach our students. Is it true? no well then don't believe it and move on. Dangerous can go both ways.

  7. Well how about the former Tech Principal who was moved to the athletic department? Now that's not speculation or conjecture: He definetly began an affair with a student, had a child with her and then moved her in. Seriously CIA??!?? You act like this is a shocker and you fish for information. I mean this was the real deal and against the law but, never heard any mention of that!

  9. Hi Wait a minute... we didn't hear about it but we will share it out if you give us the details of what you know. I am not shocked what goes on with FWISD. We began this blog as soon as we saw that the newly elected members were not going to correct the problems. We teachers needed the support. Thanks for the information and if you want to share we will publish it.

  10. His name is Joe Dugan. I'm not sure why nobody has mentioned this before. Okay, here's another example: Mr. Santana-HV Helbing previously Moved from his previous school after moving in with a woman he hired at that school.
    Then he got a BTAP pregnant. In addition to that he began aggressively making sexual advances toward a teacher who reported him. This resulted in the teacher getting moved.
    WTF??!!?! Sexually harassed a teacher and the teacher was moved? Was he fired?? Nope!

  11. Kinda like Director Xavier Sanchez being interviewed and hired by his mom, Ms Sanchez Silbas? He bragged about the interview. But wait, his supervisor is Ms Balandran, his god mother! So I guess it's ok? Right?
