PALAZZOLO APPELLATE BRIEF: REFUTING FWISD APPEAL

Makes you wonder how FWISD lawyers got their degrees.

The brief is excellent and shows how corrupt the entire process is and how the board can allow this to continue.

Happy Reading

  1. What a difference in legal representation from years past for Joe. This is so detailed and extremely well written! These are facts, people; that have been reported for over 5 years in the Weekly and now CIA. You nay sayers out there have unfairly judged Joe from the inception of the AHHS scandal and beyond. If I was in his shoes, I can tell you honestly that I probably wouldn't be here! How this man and his family have steadfastly hung in there is beyond me. I've read most of this document and I am shocked as to how Joe and his supporters have been retaliated against, forced to quit, demoted, and even bullied on the stand! The lies, lies and more lies! My question to the FWISD Legal team: is that all you got??? All you have done is bully and retaliate your way at every legal turn and still, you got nothin'. Hey Brandt, do you hear that? It's the walls closing in on you and your band of yahoos. You all have delayed the inevitable as long as you possibly can. Checkmate, baby!

  2. According to CIA, there are at least two Open Records Requests seeking disclosure of exactly how much this Board has BLOWN in needless legal fees on Joe P. for the past five years. Since the trial, FWISD has stalled, delayed, appealed and refused to release this PUBLIC INFORMATION which sources say is now over $5 mil. FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY. The Board wanted a trial, got it, lost, yet for the past year has continued delays in the hope (per Needham) that "Maybe if we wait long enough he will just die too." A clear reference to Danny Swanson. This Board has no ethics - no shame. What truly amazes me is that this Board has knowledge of Administrators who have fathered children with students and are still employed (in fact were promoted); teachers who had open affairs with their students which Menchaca helped cover up; other teachers who sexually assaulted their students yet are still employed; Administrators who failed to report child abuse and are now Deputy Superintendents; GED holders making 60-80,000 per year; the list goes on and on AND YET the Board is spending millions in legal fees shopping for a legal decision on Palazzolo - FOR WHAT? We all KNOW Needham should have gone to prison long, long ago. What is the problem? Cinto - if ANYONE can correct this injustice it is YOU. Where is that change Tobi? And I'm sorry but Ann, this is another case where I am scratching my head wondering why YOU are not demanding an end to this. What in the hell is the matter with you people? It is time to end this. Joe offered to walk away if only you reinstated him and you ignored his offer. OK, Pay Up. This is Fiduciary misconduct if EVER there was. You also need new Counsel. No wonder Walsh Anderson resigned and gives classes to other ISD's statewide using Palazzolo as an example of how NOT to fire an employee. End this.

  3. The longer you drag this on, the more petty and vindictive you appear. The Board needs to end this drama. Ann, what are you waiting for? Tobi, why not step forward? Cinto, time to show leadership.

  4. Omg I just read about Dany Swanson. I'm not sure why I hadn't before. I thought that I kept up with the current events in our district but somehow I missed this! All I can say is if there's a hell, ms. Needham has a place with her name on it! What an evil bitch! We should have done something about her and the others involved. So so sad! Hang in there JOE Don't you give up! For any BOE members who stood by and said nothing and did nothing karma gets all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You people make me SICK!

After reading her testimony and this brief quoting Ann's testimony, I am at a complete loss as to why she is not speaking out for this man - demanding the Board honor the Jury verdict. Sadly, the taxpayer interest meter is ticking. It does not come out of their pockets. Time to put the Kool Aid down long enough to demand a public vote to end this matter Ann.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The district's position is that our insurer, TASB, is in charge of the progress of this case.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Thank you for that response however it frankly makes no sense given FWISD's own response to Open Records Requests plainly stating the TASB "coverage" (which is actually no coverage at all but rather a self-insurance fund) expired August 2013. MOREOVER, the "coverage" required FWISD to reimburse TASB for ALL legal fees and expenses. These documents have been published here before. Absolutely NOTHING abrogates the BOARD'S responsibility. These are exactly the kind of misguided decisions which are ruining this District's financial stability. Someone needs to clarify which it is.

    ReplyDelete
  8. For clarity I have forwarded this to CIA for posting.

I don't think that explanation (which is political at best) relieves you from fiduciary responsibility as a Board Member or doing what is morally right as a Board Member or citizen. This is OUR money you are gambling with. Without benefit of a public hearing, you have no right to be spending our money in this reckless fashion. You need to stand up and call for a vote to stop this.

    ReplyDelete
  10. So nothing has really changed Ann. You drank the Kool Aid; said nothing about the GED ladies; the idiot who promoted them; TASB who supported the promotion and who we now learn is supporting the on-going witch hunt against Joe P. Truly a disappointment. Needham is celebrating. Keep fighting Joe. The Courts will decide as this Board lead by a moral degenerate, continues to squander our funds.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ann, why did you support and ultimately approve the budget without ANY resending of those salaries to HCM ladies that ONLY have GEDS? YOU said that you would not approve without this and TESTING. If I understood correctly both are still the same. Please explain this.

    ReplyDelete
  12. You are correct. I did say this and I did not follow through.

I was irritated that staff put all the raises in one board item so I would have had to vote against the bond money AND the budget Then we had Mrs. Needham trying to reduce the 3% raises to staff which I dealt with.

But neither of these are a good excuse.

Thank you for responding to us though at times it must be stressful. These two items are a tremendous and growing black eye which will figure prominently in the selection process for new superintendent. How ironic that BOTH have TASB as a common denominator. We still however expect you to do the right thing and speak out for us. You know you have employees who fathered children with students STILL EMPLOYED (and I am not referring to our new illustrious leader) yet you are saying nothing about the Joe P. disaster. So too with the GED ladies - making MORE than TEACHERS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ann, According to records I've seen TASB has not been involved in providing legal liability insurance since 2013....approximately at the same time Walsh Anderson withdrew as counsel of record and Brandit came on board. Please explain?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Board Members: If you click on the image of the letter (below) from your own loss prevention specialist, not only will the picture enlarge, but you will see for yourself that: 1. FWISD NEVER had "insurance"; 2. FWISD's self-insured arrangement with TASB ended in August 2013; 3. FWISD is responsible for reimbursing TASB for ALL legal fees and expenses.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well you did sort of refer to the outrageous raises that were given and I thought you used the word resend. Ann, perhaps I could let up on this if I believed something could be done! It's not so much anything against them personally BUT THIS IS GROSSLY WRONG!!! Think about those of us with student loans we incurred getting advanced degrees?!?! Surely this must be a lump in your throat as your own family also teaches. Is there nothing that can be do everything? Tell us what we can do? This cannot be allowed to continue and if the BOE thinks we will eventually let this go, they are sadly mistaken! The only thing right now is that many teachers probably have not been made aware and what about the general public?? Doubtful they would go silently along with this either. Can you do nothing? I know you agreed that this was wrong so why is this so hard to remedy? I have so much respect for you and if you said that there's nothing that can be done or that there's some clause or contract protection?? I can't imagine the stress you must be under! In fact, I can only imagine that it's awful just being in such a sesspool of corruption that it's hard to choose which wrong to make right? Please just understand that so far YOU ARE SEEN as someone with integrity and so many of us believe in you! We proved that on election day so ignore the rants about the kool aide CRAP and just tell your supporters what is "fixable" if possible and how we could help if possible too!!! Yes there are many overpaid staff downtown BUT NONE SO EGREGIOUS THAN THIS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. So the $5 mil question remains: HOW MUCH HAS THE BOARD SPENT ON PALAZZOLO and all other targeted employees for legal fees and expenses over the past 6 years?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ann, who is Jane Cumbie? I mean what is her job title? Is it true that she makes $80k a year with no college? Please say it isn't true.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I couldn't agree with you more. This administration and board from the days of TOCCO to present administration and board and the Joe P. case has been handled ineptly. Backroom deals, ignorance and corruption in procurement and a computer system....Tyler Technologies which remains in place.... Firstly, since the days of Tocco forward this administration and board has not honored their fiduciary duty to the community. Ms. Needham and others have acted vindictively and retaliated against any employee who has brought wrongdoing to the administration. The old "white citizens council" is alive and well here in Fort Worth. I have been deeply disappointed in our Chamber of Commerce and Mayor and council for distancing themselves from the issues at FWISD. Additionally since 2010 the DA's office has allowed FWISD to call the dance. I and others have appealed to the DA to investigate the white collar fraud existing within FWISD administration and board. By Ann's own prediction, had Dansby remained Superintendent this district would be bankrupt by 2017. Consequently, even with Dansby gone, taxpayers will be paying for FWISD's lack of fiduciary duty to taxpayers through withdrawal from reserves and the 3 cent taxpayer increase based on home valuation to construct a budget and realign the bond. It is time to demand TEA place FWISD into conservatorship eliminating this board....sorry Cinto you're off to a good start but like Ann you're just one man powerless to effect true change. I have started the process writing TEA about all things which occurred since 2010 forward. Hopefully I can achieve my goals which is to uphold every child and parent's right to a free, appropriate public education with the help of all court documents. The appellee brief is beautifully written, With God's grace, we who oppose this administration and board, TEA will take FWISD to conservatorship doing away with upper administration and this board. The consequences are too great for our children and parents as well as our teachers will continue to suffer. Those of us who believe in civil rights must carry these issues as for and as long as required. School board positions are non-partisan. Nevertheless, this last election was farcical and political.. Electing ALL incumbents was completely rigged by big money. Mayor Moncreif you were a complete disappointment by aligning yourself with the Mayor's office when you had the power to do otherwise. Mayor Price you demonstrated how corrupt your office and council have become. And Chamber, you are failing this community by allowing public education to falter to a degree that small business owners will not be able to hire well educated high school students for entry positions. I challenge every consumer in Fort Worth to ask cashiers to count back change for a $20 transaction to discover how inept young people are...sorry kids but you should also be posting here to share how you are being taught but also being treated at school everyday. I know some of you, students, have good teachers but I also know teachers have the sword of Damiclees (sp) held over their heads daily by this administration to only teach to a TEST! which has nothing to do with basic knowledge and skills to prepare you for work life. Finally if we don't demand repair of FWISD educational system, eventually all of us will suffer. As witnessed in the last election, Fort Worth elite. the white citizens council will not change unless and until, this community demands change.

Linda, what can be done of all these women with only GEDS making more than a teacher with 10 years experience and a PHD? I refuse to accept this!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I thought more would be done too! She is just one person but, none of the other board members seem to care!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I thought twice about responding (basically I'm done with the corruption) but here I go for the sake of all of the Teachers and Employees who supported Ann in the recent election. We've been HAD. Face it fellow dummies, she got what she wanted at the last Board Meeting; on the audit committee. At what price? Voting unanimously like the other drones on the raises and budgets. And WHY? It never made any sense to me why these politicians feel like they have to vote unanimously to look good. I guess they think we're stupid. If anything, I think it exposes their mental and moral weakness - their inability to think for themselves and stand up for what they and their constituents believe. This is just a complete joke. So is the Palazzolo situation and Ann's ENDLESS waffling and refusal to do the right thing. What the heck - it's not THEIR money. They tested her coffee cup and the results are in: Kool Aid!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. The question should be directed to Ann Sutherland. Or Maybe Tobi Jackson, Ashley Paz or Cinto who already gave a fundraising party (?).The GED situation is almost as insulting as hiring BACK Cheri Washington.

I did ask but she's not really given an answer just yet.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So now we see that Ann played us all just to get elected!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ann explained all of that in a reply to I'm Confused from a couple of days ago. As many people point out , she is one member trying to doing what 8 won't, the right thing. Anyone in her position can do 1 of 2 things, keep fighting or give in. She's continued to fight the best she can. If as she stated, staff combined budget and bond together, she had to vote for it if she wanted us to get the raise. Remember that the people in the admin building have decades of experience manipulating the system so the get what they want That of course is a lot for them and little for us.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No fed-up she gave an excuse and explanation of sorts BUT NOT if when or how anything would be done on HCM's GED ladies making more $ than a teacher with 10 years experience and a PHD! As a matter of fact SHE STATED that she never said anything about them specifically. I don't believe that Ann has sold us out and I don't believe that she will ignore this forever! I mean I refuse to give up hope on her. I'm Also confused why she won't take a more front seat on bringing and end to this though! She admitted that these raises to staff without credentials was BAD but she's not said why we won't be attempting to remedy them either. We all know this is wrong even Ann agrees so what will be the next step?????and by the way goofball, she could've been against the other BOE members and it would've passed! It didn't have to be unanimous!!! So don't use that as an excuse! I am hoping that she has a plan but just can't reveal it yet! She's a good person who supports teachers and her own daughter is a teacher SO I WILL NOT COUNT HER OUT JUST YET!!! I Continue to bring this up and I won't stop but let's give ANN A CHANCE!

    ReplyDelete
  28. She did not play us, she has endured continued attacks by Moss, Needham, Norm, Sims and the new board members. You have to remember that she has been the only voice for teachers. It takes 5 votes. The fact that she decided to run again and invested 25000 shows the she cares about waste and mismanagement! The Joe case is alarming because they are going to have to pay through general funds if they don't have insurance

  29. Disgusted EmployeeJune 29, 2015 at 7:56 AM

Well she stopped trying to do the right thing at this meeting in order to get on the Audit Committee. Frankly, it was a "loss" - a poor trade for Teachers, Parents, Taxpayers and Student. As the lone voice she needed to speak out to the public about the GED's the promotions and new hire in Central Office. She needed to vote "no" on the budget and Bond. You got you measly 3% raise - it won't even cover the bump in health care. You need to look beyond your self interest to the greater good. Sadly, this was something Ann DID NOT DO at this meeting. We beat up the others for corruption, illegitimate children, hiring girlfriends, fixing the Bond for developers at the sake of our children - yet we're no supposed to call out Ann when she sells out? you are wrong. This was a BAD deal. Linares, Sorum, Breed, Needham MJ, Dickerson and all the special interests have won another round. Just as they continue to "win" in run-away litigation expenses as this Board continues to sanction retaliation against employees. At least the others are consistent in their corruption. Do the right thing and endure the consequences.

    ReplyDelete
  30. How dare you tell me to look past my self interests. I've done that for the 21 years that I've been teaching and especially the 15 I've been with FWISD. That's what I committed to do when I became a teacher. I don't know what you do for a living but that's how I make mine and I consider it part of the job. No one elected person can do everything you want them to. If she had been a swing vote that could cause real change then I could see her voting no but just to vote against what you call a "measly 3%" just as a symbolic vote that could not possibly change anything is ridiculous. You claim she sold out for the appointment to the audit committee but you have no proof. Have you not thought what she can uncover on that committee? What corruption she could expose? Her vote helped those of us with that " measly 3%", if you teach and don't want it don't take it.
To Still Confused, it is almost impossible to take a raise away from an employee once it's been given. Just because the vast majority of sane people don't like it is not a legitimate excuse and would open the district up to more litigation if the raises of the "GED ladies" were reduced. I'm not sure but to even bringing it out in public session and naming names might have brought liability to the district over privacy issues. If these women were demoted then they could legitimately reduce their pay but let's face it that isn't going to happen. Ann can't do anything take that money away. Let's hop that she can do something to stop it from happening in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Still confused to fed-upJune 29, 2015 at 10:16 AM

I'm sorry fed-up but you are completely WRONG. All of our salaries are public knowledge! This is not the private sector, this is public education AND ALL of our salaries are public PERIOD as well as our credentials!!! Also you ARE confusing their rights for teachers! You cannot reduce our salaries BUT THESE ARE NOT TEACHERS AND AS SUCH THEY ARE NOT PROTECTED! Let me put it another way: if a teacher is accidently paid as though he or she has a masters or PHD then (of course this is not ever happened that I'm aware of) then we wouldn't continue paying the same salary. That we can do without any litigation. I'm pretty sure they use Kronos ( I keep asking Ann if they have a contract but she's not replied) if they use Kronos, these are at will employees you dumb twit! Texas is an at will state! I'm not saying that's a good thing but it is what it is! Only teachers WITH CREDENTIALS or other CREDENTIALED employees with contracts are protected! Clearly you do not know your rights! Just about the only thing we have is that contract and it provides SOME job security but not much!!! Now as far as reducing the salaries for those ladies, it can be done! As for Ann, I still trust her and I believe that she's got a plan and I'm counting on her to do the right thing. I have no doubt that she will. She's pragmatic and cautious but SHE IS NO SELL OUT! If I had to guess and it is just a guess, I'd say that if I were preparing to get RID OF SOME major corruption is start with the fool responsible for it all and let him go be some other districts problem. All this information WONT BE GOOD FOR HIM. Perhaps those ladies make that money now but it will not be forever!!!! But you are wrong, those salaries can be adjusted at anytime. With board approval. I suppose they could try and sue but doubtful they would win.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Disgusted EmployeeJune 29, 2015 at 10:20 AM

Were you not the one who was unwilling to give up their 3% raise when someone suggested Ann vote straight "no" on the budget? THAT is SELF INTEREST. So now you have your raise but I have news for you: It doesn't come close to the increase that at least 4 employees with GEDs received. They are STILL making MORE than you. And worse still, those increases and salaries cannot NOW be rescinded. Was Ann on the Audit Committee before the vote? NO. Is she on the audit committee now that she voted with the others? YES. There is your answer

    ReplyDelete
  33. To still confused-even if they don't use Kronos, without a contract there is NO PROTECTION!

    ReplyDelete
  34. You are correct! They received more than $1000/month increase!!!! Enjoy your $70 unless you don't have our insurance then it's around $130-140/month. Hmm that's about $860/ month difference! I Personally won't notice that SO I would have gladly let it go to rectify this bullshit. Then again fed-up, I have EARNED 2 Master degrees and the insult is that these ladies received in one month what I get for the entire year! Oh yeah that makes sense!!! WTF???????

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm sorry, but some of you people who post on this blog are ridiculous (and that is coming from someone who is a long-time reader and avid fan of this blog and what it seeks to accomplish). Attacking Ann Sutherland? Are you serious? She is the ONLY person on that board who even attempts to engage with teachers and represent their, and their students', best interests. She is only one member, out of nine, and she has no professional staff helping her take on a sea of highly-paid and entrenched bureaucrats, who can spend unlimited amounts of time (probably on the FWISD clock!) stalling and subverting her requests. Y'all remind me of some of my friends who voted for Ralph Nader in 2000, because you wanted to show us Democrats how much purer you were- we see how wonderfully that worked out, when you threw the election to W! I wonder, how many of you actually got off your butts and helped one of the other anti-establishment candidates in the last election, in order to give Ann some backup? I can tell you that I went to a couple of Joel Aguilar events, and there was hardly anyone there helping him out. Let's quit trying to impose some sort of purity test on Ann Sutherland, and instead hold the other trustees' feet to the fire, by speaking at board meetings, commenting on local media stories, trying to find qualified and viable candidates for the next round of elections in 2 years, and otherwise staying involved.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nice try but changing your name doesn't re-write history. For whatever reason, she sold out. She knew when she ran for re-election that she was one voice. Most who supported her did so because she was that one voice. This last meeting, she became a member of the choir. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for any ISD to be paying GED's MORE than Teachers with MA's or PhD's. Complaining about how Linares structured the agenda item reeks of legal maneuvering to provide her with cover. No matter what you say. The "I'm just one person" is no defense. Neither is the "The district's position is that our insurer, TASB, is partly in charge of the progress of this case." defense as she states below. Read her testimony and observe her actions since that trial. Not the same person.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Good grief! Whenever someone disagrees with one of you, you accuse them of some sort of duplicitous actions with respect to their name. The GED issue is indeed concerning, but it is one of just many confronting the district. Let's not hurt the one person actually trying to help. Unless, of course, YOU are actually Barbara Griffith or someone else trying to hurt Ann! (See how that works?)

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is not about blindly following a pied piper. She was wrong. Whatever her excuse - it may appease you, it does not appease the majority of educational professionals. She ran as the voice of Teachers - no one twisted her arm. She instead went her own way on Tuesday. We supported and voted for a voice not someone who thinks they know better than we do. You got your precious 3% but at what cost? She can't hide behind legal opinions or agenda preparation. Very, very disappointing. And just think - those GED graduates select Teachers/Substitutes .

    ReplyDelete
  39. So if you won't, who will? Too bad you did not tell us this before the Board Meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Let's hope they give her the right data. Can she ask for those employees named like Rafaela Gomez, Rosibel medina, Jane Cumbie? Also any admin assistant that is a "coordinator" for someone. Can you ask for all Coordinators? You will see discrepancies in required education. Why does Monge allow this and in his own department. Please clean the crap up! Please stop promoting people that don't do anything.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wouldn't sursprise me they doctored that list I wouldn't trust HCM they're the department that I would have to generate that list. With the heat they're catching now you honestly think don't won't try to hide the facts?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm sorry people: Teachers, Employees, Parents and Taxpayers who supported Ann in her re-election. I'm sorry Joe Palazzolo and all the other Teachers and Employees who are currently involved in litigation or grievances over workplace bullying, harassment or retaliation (YES it is still going on). I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you that you need to WAKE UP. Ann has waffled yet again. She seems to think that being placed on a committee is worth sacrificing principle. Asking a question after voting to approve the GED promotions is a ridiculous attempt to save face. Why is Joe still sitting on the sidelines? Because for all her testimony, Ann left him and every other employee now dealing with retaliation - HANGING.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Somebody better tell "Thank you Thank you" on Ann's blog that she is dreaming. I agree the time to question and fight the GED promotions and raises was BEFORE you actually voted FOR them. Sadly, we've been though this before with Ann. I feel bad for Joe and the others.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Bullying by Administration is why I'm resigning after teaching for 15 years. The trend is to blame and use the teachers as scapegoats. Principals are getting "write up" Happy ....UEA was worthless and not there for me. Good Luck my fellow teachers FWISD is toxic

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thank you thank youJune 30, 2015 at 3:52 PM

This is thank you thank you: Those raises were determined by a committee NOT the BOE! I'm not sure who was on that committee other then I know Sammy Monge was on that committee. This process was due to the TASB study (whatever) and I believe the raises were achieved through an appeal process to that Committee. I suppose that ultimately theBOE voted on them but if my memory serves me I believe there were three votes against those raises! Ann was one of them! I am finding it difficult to believe however that she seems to be the target of everyone's frustration. How about the other ASSHOLES who could care less and voted yes on those raises. Am I the only one on this blog that understands it is the majority it does not have to be unanimous? As far as I can tell she's the only real SUPPORTER of TEACHERS on our board. How about calling out the other members who have never done one thing for teachers never stood for one policy that supported teachers???? I don't presume to know why Ann took the route that she's taken BUT I still believe the the end goal for that path WILL be supportive of teachers! If you're confused about that then you really don't know much about Ann!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sammy Monge sure has his hands in everything. How did he become a chief? Oh yeah his friendship with then board member Vasquez and in turned whispered something in Dansby's ear.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I would simply suggest you personally sit down with Ann and take an inventory of what she has done this past week. You will find she has made a U turn on numerous issues in SUPPORT of the current administration and BOE.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thank you thank youJune 30, 2015 at 9:03 PM

Insider we will just have to agree to disagree on that. I didn't hear any rebuttal on how those "raises" actually came to fruition though! When they were voted on, 3 were against and Ann was one of those 3 and that was a while ago. I also heard nothing from you with regard to the other BOE members! Last I checked, I don't recall anyone but Ann making ANY decisions in support of teachers. I suppose that is possible that I may have missed something so, PLEASE enlighten me! How quickly you seem to forget all the GOOD that she's done! If you're reading this Ann and I know that you often do, I hope you're not letting any of this get to you! You know the majority support you and thankfully we proved that this past election! To insider, I did not hear any comment from you about the other BOE members either and there's A TON we can say there and NONE of it GOOD!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well I knew Scroggins was a jerk. Don't know much about Delich. Do know that Galvan before Delich is from the good ole boys network with Dansby's network.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Scroggins left after freaking out because his mistress did not want him anymore. I feel sorry for his wife! And we all got wrote up by him! He was allowed to resign. Thanks Ann! You claimed to fight all this! What happened? Wait, you brought back Cherie Washington! Yep, you are one on Sorum's minions!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Between Linares (a freaking interim) and Sorum the district is being runned into the ground! Can't believe that they actually think they are serving and helping students!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sorry Ann, but I hope it DOES get to you and you change your ways. We need a voice NOT another mindless parrot.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I know of two more Teachers going through what Palazzolo did. Not quite to litigation but almost. There are dozens more. The BOE is useless. I can't believe Sutherland is just letting him "hang" without demanding a vote. Many of us are still writing letters.

Do you know how the board gets elected? How many are on the board? She is one of nine! All you dimwits harassing Ann on this blog don't realize what she has survived while on this board. Her daughter was harassed while a teacher in Fort Worth. As a teacher I have been at one her schools where I was harassed. Thank god I got a transfer! At every board meeting she is attacked by fellow board members like Moss and Avila. They attempt to silence her and rudely interrupt. Their have been public attempts to censor her. Why? Ann speaks the truth. She is but one board member! Not all of you live in her district! Call your board member! I for one want to thank Dr. Sutherland for her service, she really cares.

  55. The "one of nine" excuse doesn't cut it. We all know the others are worthless. If we wanted a ninth drone vote, we would have supported Spear. Bullying is alive and well. Glad for you, but others still suffer. Caving in or ignoring the suffering of others is no solution. We supported her because we need a voice. We need a leader who isn't afraid of being out numbered or "rudely interrupted". After reading her testimony I am APPALLED she has allowed the Palazzolo case to drag on without PUBLIC PROTEST. No wonder others are simply leaving. That is just one example where MILLIONS could have been spent in the classroom instead of on attorneys.

  56. Let's keep to the facts. I voted against Cherie Washington and all the other raises.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thank you for responding and thank you for that vote. Washington is a prime example of what FWISD does NOT need! Especially given her husband is an employee. Ann, you NEED to do SOMETHING about Palazzolo's case. This has dragged on far too long. FWISD is still using the tactics on others.

I agree Ann! I almost made a comment about that last night when I saw the poly teachers comment but, I decided wasn't worth it! It's one of those you can take a horse to the water but you can't make him drink. I also know that you voted against those raises too but, seems some people just wish to target you! Don't you dare let any of that crap get to you! You have always supported teachers ALWAYS! Stay on top of HCM Ann as much corruption can be found there! I know of someone who had an interview more than a month ago and HCM has not even followed through with contacting this person. I believe that there were only five that interviewed too! So, with $66/k a year to those ladies and they can't send an email to the 4 candidates who didn't get the position? I know of another great candidate for AP too! She has 15 years classroom experience, 5 years as a counselor, and a PHD; HCM didn't want this person either!!! HCM is CRAZY, CORRUPT, & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! You know if you apply to in & out burger they send you a text or email when you don't get the job? It's actually like, "Thank you for your application, and the position is no longer available, we will keep your application on file, etc." Hmmm, you might think that our institution could at least have the same level of professionalism as a damn burger joint?!?!? I'm also going to bet that their HR people don't make $66k/year either!

"They" know what "They" are doing and "They" just say that "They" are serving and helping students!!! Lol nobody really believes that it's just what they say! If you wish to know what's going on, ask the ones in the classroom (aka the teachers). Just be sure that it's one who's been around at least 5 years or so because the "newbies" still live in a bubble.

    ReplyDelete
  60. "She really cares" But not enough to end the on-going persecution of Palazzolo. Not enough to go to the DOE or FBI with some of us who have written or visited with them. In El Paso ISD it took the complaint of ONE elected official to get an immediate response from the FBI. You cannot help those who refuse to help themselves. Moreover, there is NO WAY to explain her silence in the face of absolute abuse of taxpayer money as in the Palazzolo mess.

  61. HCM=CORRUPTION!!!
    CORRUPTION=MONGE!!!!!
Ann if possible what's the latest performance evaluation on Monge? I know there's plenty of things where he dropped ball several times and that's not even counting his GED ladies!

  62. I'm leaving too. Same reason. Can't even consider walking back into the building in August. Too much corruption, no accountability over campus admin. Lack of morale and just plain meanness from the top at my campus. And the district admin is about as out of touch as they can be. Going to have a quality of life that I cannot have while working for this district.

  63. Were you at Poly too or a different campus?

  64. Facts are that Scroggins had an affair with a teacher. She was moved to another school, and he was allowed to leave quietly. After writing staff letters of rep because he wanted to pay her friends back. Just the facts! And the board knew of this!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well Ann, "keeping to the facts", what have you done to END Joe's nightmare? We all supported you because you told the truth and started standing up to Needham & Co. How can you just SIT there and say nothing? He won in a JURY trial which the BOE and Dansby wanted. YOU should be the one demanding the whole mess end. WHY are you not? One voice CAN make a difference. You read all the examples here before. Why is Dugan still employed? Breed and the others. Put the money the Board is wasting in legal fees back in the classroom. You KNOW there is no insurance. Why are you SILENT??? It's not a TASB decision (in whole or part). It is a BOE decision. End it NOW!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Most of us are usually allies on this BLOG but not this time. Ann is NOT supporting teachers (ALWAYS!) by letting the Palazzolo burning at the stake continue. She needs to stand up NOW and end it.

  67. Yes when you dread going to work every morning and feel physically sick , you have a problem....so sad teaching used to be fun. Oh well on to the next chapter in our lives ....good riddance Hell Hole ISD

  68. Thank you thank youJuly 2, 2015 at 2:02 AM

I'll admit that I've followed Mr. Palazzolo's fight since the beginning and I most certainly believe he should be paid well and if I recall, Ann testified on his behalf at the trial. I'm also certain that she doesn't have THE ULTIMATE Magic wand to RIGHT every wrong either. I have not heard her speak on this as of late however, she's previously spoke in favor of resolving it. I think you need to be specific in what your asking her to do (other than ending it since she does not have the authority to do so) I've also considered that since the BOE clearly has no basis for the appeal (I read the brief) it may be that additional liability could result in speaking directly about the case. IDK but I don't see her hanging him out to dry. I just don't, she's not like that and I'm not saying that she's perfect but I've spoken to her more than once and she's just not like that. Additionally, I'm a pretty damn good judge of character and even if you doubted her veracity, I don't doubt mine. That's not to say that I've been 100% thrilled at all her decisions on this BOE but, she has integrity 100%. If you know of something specific that SHE said or voted to prove otherwise then you should say so because by just giving this blanketed statement of "She turned her back on Joe, etc." Well, it sort of sounds like your using her as a scapegoat when we all know WHO is the ring leader in this corrupt attempt to ruin this man! And it's not Ann!

  69. Pascal, that's all you had to say. I've heard stories about Mossiage. I do remember that a formal AP Robinson was the biggest lush you'll ever see.

  70. Well after several days of comments and dozens of Teachers once again leaving FWISD, the question remains: What is the Board doing to end this mess? As these comments are posted, thousands of dollars more in legal fees are being spent on delays and arguing with Palazzolo's former attorney - all at taxpayer expense. What are YOU going to do to stop it Ann? What are YOU going to do to try to end this waste of taxpayer $$? You know the verdict was just. DO SOMETHING!!! Before we loose even more great teachers.

I'd like to know where Tobi Jackson and Ashley Paz stand on the recurring problems at Poly and Carter Riverside. GREAT Teachers are leaving. Maybe this is what the BOE wants.

    ReplyDelete
  72. In case you haven't noticed Ann, the comments from Teachers on your own Blog express frustration and outrage. You obviously have known there was no TASB "insurance" on Palazzolo for some time. From CIA we also learned that Brandt and FWISD LIED to thte Court about the DOE investigation and Palazzolo's role in it. Your silence begs the question; How much did you know? Now that you do know, why are you remaining silent?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I also hear that Ruthard at Carter Riverside is no good. Can anybody confirm?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Tell you what curious, if HCM put Ruthard there then I'd bet everything I own that Ruthard is either worthless, a puppet, or a good ol boy because HCM is pathetic! They don't want independent thinkers or problem solvers, advocates for teachers, certainly not advocates for students, and in most cases extremely low IQ's. I believe this is due to the fact that most intelligent people by and large don't make ridiculously stupid decisions nor do they wish to be associated with ridiculously stupid decisions! HCM has been corrupt for so long that finding any administrator That is not worthless is next to impossible.

  75. Any info please!!!!July 2, 2015 at 12:39 PM

Do you have a job somewhere else? I would love to leave now but not because I don't love teaching; I absolutely love it and I'm incredibly good at it. I'm passionate about it and i've been in this district more than 10 years. Each year it gets harder and harder to go back in August, I dread it. In the beginning I would get excited and I'd even go in my room and work a week or so before in-service began and now I just cry! I want out so badly but I need the income. I was silly enough to believe that earning another masters degree could move me out of the cesspool but it seems impossible to do. Getting an interview in this district is next to impossible and even if you're lucky enough to get one, unless you have some inside connection, you will never even hear from them. Sometimes I wonder if they just go through the motions with these interviews so that they can say that it was fair and equitable but, it's really not. HCM doesn't even notify you when they receive your application nor do they communicate with you after an interview! I had an interview more than a month ago and I even followed up with a couple of emails but, I've heard nothing. My 16 year old kid was shown more professionalism when applying for a summer job than I was. Trying to leave the district seems even more difficult! They say that your supervisor is not allowed to say anything derogatory about you but even with stellar PDAS, etc. It's been 4 years of trying and I cannot get out. I used to wonder why some of the most incredible effective teachers and mentors that I've met along the way, would just suddenly do a 180° Turn and just give up. Teachers who once inspired me and MADE ME want to be a better teacher are now just counting the days until they can leave. I guess I don't wonder why anymore. After years of this, I can't really blame them. It's like little by little everything that made them incredibly wonderful and great, was just chipped away until something completely different was left. I wish somebody out there who reads this blog would give specific information on how to get out of this district because clearly improving it seems more of a pipe dream than it did 5-6 years ago. I do know of some people who are now teaching overseas with great respect and great success so perhaps when my child is in college, I will consider that too! I'm too young to retire and quite frankly, I DONT WANT TO! I'm really good at what I do In fact I'm kind of GREAT at this. Anyone out there with useful information I implore you please tell us how to get into another district! They cannot all be like FWISD!

  76. There are multiple complaints against Ruthart - local, state and federal. Ashley Paz has defended him. The fact that the Board has allowed Linares to run wild with hiring and promotions, the GED ladies, and CRICKETS we hear from Sutherland on all of these issues tells the tale. Jackson defended Scroggins; knew about the affair(s); knows about Poly. Avilla knows about problems at Paschal but is too concerned with ISD contracts for his father. The BOE is BURNING through $$$$ for outside attorneys. We need the Feds to take over.

  77. I'm glad I'm not crazy and alone!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Give her a CHANCE? Palazzolo has dragged on for five years now - she has done nothing to end his ordeal since the JURY rendered its decision and the COURT affirmed it. I'd say she's had ample "chance" to end that but hasn't even assured a vote was taken or public comment.

  80. Any info please!!!!July 3, 2015 at 4:28 PM

I'm not trying to identify you or anything but I am desperately reaching out for information. I've been in the classroom for more than 10 years and I have 2 Master degrees and both are related to education. I sure don't wat to give up working with children if possible. I did check into a few PHD and Ed. Programs to perhaps send me in another career that would make that possible. I even contemplated something related to Education Law-the cost for that didn't justify the salary though! May I ask what you will be doing and is the pay any better? Any guidance would be tremendously appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You know, if you would simply be public in your opposition to things like the GED promotions; hiring Washington back; the Palazzolo case lingering on; the on-going retaliation and bullying, I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the out pouring of PUBLIC support you would get. People simply do not know what Needham and the BOE are doing. Tell them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I just read "Displaced" and "You Better Ask Somebody" on Sutherland's Blog. Sadly, Displaced is not alone. In the past six years, FWISD has lost NUMEROUS quality Teachers and Administrators who were making a difference with children. Why? The BOE. Three dinosaurs, two of whom are indicted criminals who stole from children. Yet they are still there. As for TASB - they are a whore's organization. TASB will say whatever the person paying them WANTS them to say. I agree with You Better Ask Somebody that Sutherland won exclusively because of Teachers. Unfortunately, in my view, she has betrayed us already. The last Board meeting was a lost opportunity to educate the public and stop the GED scam, the Bond scam, the budget scam and the Palazzolo/teacher retaliation scam. She didn't. Instead she got her committee assignment. Disgraceful. How she can sit back and continue LYING to the public about TASB insurance coverage and pretend to now be concerned about GED's making more than teachers is absurd. Watch her actions at the July Meeting. She cannot undo the GED scam. If she is not publicly demanding an end to Palazzolo, you KNOW you were betrayed.

  83. Blessings and good luck to both of you and any others leaving FWISD. I left shortly after the Palazzolo witch hunt. I have other friends who are being "burned" as we speak. Same tactics. Multiple campuses. I supported Sutherland; was betrayed by UEA who supported Jackson who supported Scroggins and hiring Washington among others. Agree with others that Sutherland has not done enough. Dugan still employed - GED's on and on.......... God Speed.

  84. In my view Ann should know what to do with her "spirit of harmony" under "new leadership". Bet there were a few Romans who felt that way when Nero ascended the throne. Don't forget Ann, one of Cinto's first acts as newly elected BOE Member was (allegedly) to secure a job for his baby's Mama through Dansby. Fine upstanding example for our children. I agree with others that the July meeting will tell the true tale. It still only takes ONE BOE member to ask to place an item on the agenda. What will they do? Will Ann suddenly remember Teachers secured her re-election or will the amnesia continue? Or will Tobi finally demonstrate that "change" she promised? The Emperor has no clothes and the BOE has no insurance yet they continue throwing $$ in legal fees at Palazzolo's trial attorney in some sort of personal vendetta and Ann carries their water lying about TABS making their decisions. NEWSFLASH: They can't. They have no authority to run this district. It all falls on the BOE. Time to stop lying and do something. The July Board meeting will tell the tale.
