MAKING SENSE OF RAMOS SUDDEN PRESIDENCY, GED IS THE NEW NORM

Tuesday it's going to get interesting at the board meeting, well we expect it to!

While the Ramos following is high fiving and celebrating the elevation to the throne many wonder how it was so sudden and what was behind it.

Well it so happens that due to the TOMA suit coming soon, our dear Norman Robbins who was presiding during the time of the entire debacle he can be held personally liable in both criminal and civil aspects.  He violated the Open Meetings Act when they set to appeal the Palazzolo case without a public meeting and vote as required.  In a previous post we provided the summary of judgement being sought and also the FWISD appeal.  So the board had to remove him quickly because of this and well the only puppet left is Ramos.  So they know they can control him enough that he was the quick scapegoat.

This Tuesday the board has the Palazzolo case on the agenda.  Things are getting heated and there is no one to blame but the board who continues to delay and not meet head on the responsibility it has.  So robbins:

Then the board continues to delay releasing the documents of the payments to the attorneys which once again they filed a brief on June 18 to the Attorney General asking to not have them released because it is attorney client privilege.  So now they want to make everything they talk about in session confidential even when it applies to taxpayer money.  Just release how much you have paid, no one is asking what you discussed just the amounts paid for services rendered.  They are sure hiding something!  Taxpayers should demand transparency.  The AG has already told you what you need to release and yet you keep stalling and paying more money to lawyers outside of the city.

REMINDER FROM THE PAST
The district lawyers denied early in 2010 that the Department of Education had any investigation into AHHS and yet the DOE sought information and had Palazzolo working with them.  Flat lies and here is the proof.. the FWISD letter and then the DOE letters.

GED NATION
So we continue to set the bar high for our districts requirements of educational standards.
We thought how can the district do so but then we have someone that is an example for all..  need we say more:..

  1. Since GED is the new norm for promotion and hiring we should be giving all those dropouts jobs. Oh wait money spent on litigation is money that could have been used for instruction! Cinto don't be a scapegoat, your CommUnity wants success. End the Palazzolo lawsuit now, or pay more later. Do you really want to be known as a Needham/Robbins pawn? Cinto you have a great opportunity to turn things around. You promised you would!

  2. We need to recall from previous stories in CIA about the Palazzolo trial that Needham and Robbins testified under oath that FWISD "does not retaliate" and that there is no bullying. Robbins' conduct toward Ann Sutherland is also under legal review: denying her requests for agenda items, asking/directing her to leave meetings, allowing paid attorneys to humiliate her in Executive Session at the Palazzolo trial. Telling her to "stay on topic" at the last meeting. This guy is an unethical worm. Waiting to see what "change" Jackson demonstrates now that CIA is putting out all of this info. What about Avilla? Isn't he an "attorney"? Brandt has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of ethics so where is Avilla in all of this? Then there is Carrillo and her staff attorney sidekick; as well as the other attorney paid to be present at all Board Meetings - Ben Barlow (whose father was Needham's employer for 8 years). All of these attorneys at millions of dollars in fees - and for what??? What in heck does Carrillo do for her salary if all of her work is being farmed out?

  3. Sorry Batman but, do you really think he's capable of doing the "right" thing? Here's the thing: He's a cheater and although I don't think that it's relavent to the BOE, it does speak to character! He is not a man that I would say keeps his promises. If he does not care about keeping promises to his wife, why would you think that you're (or we) are more important than the woman that had his children?!?! Hello??? I would so love to be wrong but, I do not think that I am! How did he vote for Monge's GED "ladies?" Did he approve of those raises? By the way, the term "ladies" only refers to gender NOT qualities, etc. On another subject, what was he raising money for with that fundraiser? YES WE NEED TO SETTLE with Palazzolo because it's the right thing to do! Unfortunately, I've been trying to recall anything in the last 10 years that our district has done with some hint of "right" and this was very difficult to do! It was incredibly discouraging because WE CANT even SEE what's right anymore only what's easy and convenient! If you are neutral or remain SILENT TOWARD INJUSTICE THEN YOU TAKE THE SIDE OF THE OPRESSOR! To put more plainly, (Ms. Paz pay attention) you are just as guilty! If someone craps all over the floor you either clean it up or get it all over your feet! Either way, the crap is there WHAT WILL YOU DO?!?!?

  4. You don't really think Robbins will go to jail do you? We still have pedophiles and thieves running amuck in this district operating with impunity! I know Ann said something on this blog a few days ago about bringing up past transgressions being non-productive because we have enough current problems to deal with. Okay yes we have plenty of current problems that is true and we will continue to grow the number of problems as long as we do not admit the past because we are doomed to repeat it! Don't you see?!?! You can't ignore the past because we just pretend it didn't happen? We need to move forward yes that is true but without acknowledging that the wrong was done THAT CANNOT HAPPEN! We have so many damn elephants in the room WE SHOULD be a circus! Oh wait, we are currently operating like one! Again, WHY FWISD BOE ALLOWS WOMEN WITH ONLY GEDS to EARN MORE THAN A TEACHER with 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE & A PHD?!?!? If that's not a circus then I don't what is!!! And STOP ACTING LIKE that 3% raise was a GREAT THING! What a FREAKIN JOKE! First of all the new insurance hike of $70+ more dollars a month just ate up half of that 3% plus your giving it to EVERYONE including the people who just GOT raises! Yuuuuup BATSHIT CRAZY CIRCUS!

  5. This Board made one hell of a mistake when you followed Needham's dictates and fired Mr. P. He made all the difference in my life. In my senior year we went to Washington D.C. It was all expenses paid. We flew on military jets for free. We landed at Andrews Base, took the same buses as the President's staff. We saw all we could see in 3 days. The monuments, White House, Congress. I had never been out of Fort Worth before that trip. You really screwed up and need to make this right. He is the kind of person who should be in schools.

  6. No such trip had happened before. No such trip has happened since.

  7. Just think.... They all GRADUATED and they all actually lived in Fort Worth.

  8. I truly hope Tobi & Co, have not succeeded in badgering Ann into no longer responding on this Blog. I missed her comment about "past transgressions" so I'm not certain of context. FWISD's "past transgressions" have become our current problems in the form of at least two known criminals still being on the Board and destroying lives and futures for personal power. Just look at what they did to Joe and CONTINUE to do. What about all the young lives they continue to destroy in their quest for big $$ deals for friends (Avilla, Koehler, etc. etc) and to get schools and baseball fields named after themselves. If FWISD is EVER to begin healing and move on they need to start by making things right with Joe P. Stop listening to that corrupt idiot Ray Dickerson. If her really cared about being a "citizen" for "Great Schools" he would have stayed on the Board instead of resigning in a racist temper tantrum over Dansby's appointment. No defender of Dansby - just the facts.

  9. It's simply known as FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY. The entire Board sat back for the past two years (yes this includes YOU Ashley) in silence as Needham continued her tirade through that unethical piece of work Norm Robbins. Avilla even voted to censure Ann though he had just been elected and was clueless. Some "attorney". You all sat back through everything Robbins and the attorneys did to Ann during meetings. you said NOTHING.
You've watched Linares systematically destroy this ISD in the past year through insider real estate deals, hiring and promotions. GED's now make more than Teachers in classrooms with PhD's. Go figure. Why is Linares refusing to release the legal fees and EXPENSES in the Palazzolo case? They are actually much HIGHER than $5 million. Ann do not be goaded into silence. Keep fighting. We are writing to everyone we can think of trying to get an outside investigation going. El Paso; Beaumont; FORT WORTH!

  10. I'm actually curious to see how high these legal fees can go! Let's break the record! I mean come on it is kind of funny when you think about it. The district pays 5 million plus to pray and hope they don't have to pay 2.8 million. And even if the district wins how can they count that as a victory when you spent 5 million?! As for the GED, from what I've read you can blame that on Monge. Orlando GED, Rafaela GED, Rosibel GED. So having a GED certainly does pay! Especially in public education! Wonder if I can trade in my Masters for a GED? Maybe TCU has a GED program, so I can take classes with Paz. Anyway fwisd, let's aim for 10 million in legal fees! Let's break the record!!!!!

  11. I am not a lawyer but I do have an advanced degree. It seems to me that MOST if not all of the responsibility for what has happened in FWISD for the past two years rests solely on the shoulders of Ms. Carrillo as in house attorney and to a lesser extent Norm Robbins as Board President and chief perpetrator. Carrillo's position EXISTS to advise the Board on law, rule, regulation, policy and ethics - to include TRANSPARENCY. She has miserably failed on all counts. Brandt is a VENDOR who has made a fortune over poor legal advise. This is not his first rodeo.

  12. The votes on Tuesday regarding trustee-submitted board items will help show whether this board wants to take a different tack. Board views on the Palazzolo issue will have to wait because there is no public discussion. Also I think the only attorney that will be advising us is the board attorney and he is hardly unbiased. What we need is a clear-eyed estimate of the outcome of the August 6 hearing.

I am reluctant to criticize other board members online. I can understand how this is irritating but it is my present plan. That is why there have not been comments from me on the Palazzolo case.

  13. Monge's GED appointments were not voted on. A previous board delegated this to staff--Thanks Melody.

  14. Thanks for posting this; I did not know it! No wonder they went after him; great teachers and administrators often become scapegoats. Look around. It's all over the district.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Please vote against this on Tuesday Ann. You represent us and are our voice on that Board. We don't need issues important to us "seconded" by another. Several of us in your district have contacted a variety of Education, Justice and Civil Rights agencies - State and Federal - seeking intervention. Don't trade issues or positions with them either. Needham let two others go to prison to save herself. She cannot be trusted. This is clearly an attempt to silence the only vote on the Board Dickerson and Needham do not control. As to Ben Barlow - funny how he has no knowledge of the Open Meetings Act when it comes to advising the
FWISD Board, yet he turned right around and advised/warned the DISD Board not to violate the same law. Oh that's right. Wasn't Barlow advising the Board on the Palazzolo termination when Dickerson was Board President at the Level 3 hearing? Isn't it some sort of conflict that Needham was employed by that same Firm?

    ReplyDelete
  16. So this does fall to Linares..... the Board controls her. Get rid of her now.

    ReplyDelete
  17. We aren't complaining about the appointments Ann; we are complaining about the ridiculous salaries. Let Monge or any administrator have WHOEVER THEY choose but, pay needs to be based on qualifications. You CANT have a minimum salary without meeting the qualifications?!?!? Those raises were recent! In any case, these positions DO NOT HAVE GUARANTEED salaries??? So if the BOE didn't approve these raises why are they allowed to continue?? Either insist Monge hire someone with qualifications that warrant those salaries or adjust the salary accordingly!!! This is so silly!!! Why is this such a difficult task? Fiduciary accountability??!?! I'm sorry I am a big supporter Ann AND this is crap! If there's something that prevents the BOE from adjusting these GED inflated salaries, for darn sakes SAY SO PLEASE!!! Help us understand???
Maybe there's something in their contract or some clause!!! I know that you are one person BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!! If only to allow other board members to SAY SOMETHING ON THIS!!!
    MORE $$$ THAN A TEACHER WITH 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE & A PHD!!!!??????

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is still making the Board look ridiculous. Get rid of that ass or get rid of the fool Linares and her huge paychecks.

  19. I guess we are about to see Tobi and that "change" she promised UEA in action on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

  20. Hey. As to the GED Ladies, maybe Ashley can get them into that make believe MBA program at TCU. Then they can make even more $$$.

  21. Ann as a parent with children in FWISD I feel I have to weigh in on this subject. If this person over HR, Monge is coming under a lot of scrutiny for placing or promoting individuals with minimum qualifications into coordinator positions than how do we know he and his department are hiring good quality teachers? What's the background on Monge? Does he have previous HR experience? Thank you in advance.

  22. You were not a student! If you were you would have posted your real name. Thanks Chad Whitt for posting pics of your buddy. Or is it actually the great Joe P himself?

    ReplyDelete
  23. And you REALLY are an AHHS Teacher huh? I don't think so. Pictures don't lie. Maybe that's why you are upset "teacher". Why don't you use your real name? What a joke.
