DR. SUTHERLAND OPTIMISTIC ABOUT BOARD DIRECTION

We just wanted to post Dr. Sutherland's comment about last night's meeting.  We hope she is right and that everything will be corrected as it should be.  We will give credit to President Ramos for a good start!

Good to hear that Dr. Sutherland will be on the audit committee and she is right that we need to clean up things.  We also hope that the Palazzolo case is settled soon so we can save money and move on.

What was your take?  let us hear from you

  1. We can only hope Ann is correct. This truly was an amazing turn of events. Though Avilla seemed to still want to go the other way, in the end he joined the other six. Perhaps a good next step would be to consider new Board Counsel. Good Work to all present.

  2. There is much which needs to be accomplished: stopping the persecution of select employees while pedophiles remain employed; unbridled spending for legal fees and expenses; cleaning up HCM; adjusting Teacher pay consistent with the GED pay in HCM; getting rid of Linares, Breed, Monge, Menchaca, Kaufman, on and on and on.................... Let's get an accurate and truthful accounting of how much the Board has spent in the past five years on Palazzolo. Then, how about ending it before more hearings and more embarrassment. This mess was created and made worse by this Board (save Paz, Ramos and Avilla). You need to own and end it so everyone in this ISD can begin to move on.

  4. Sure would be nice if Monge can give us a thorough explanation. Or maybe we should email him and ask. Ann if you can just ask Monge, and I don't mean because he's a chief and Chiefs are allowed an coordinator.

  5. Teacher, I don't mean to be disrespectful but, he was on the committee that approved those raises! Perhaps you missed that so, what should Ann ask? Why they are paid that much? Good luck with that!! I'll put everything that I own on the fact he won't even answer. His rationale for paying them that might cause a rift in his house if you catch my drift! He knows they only have GEDS, he knows what they make, I'm not sure what you want Ann to ask? Why he's a liar and a crook????

  6. Taxpayer, I would like to invite you and other readers to read the Palazzolo transcript and the appellee brief when it becomes available to see how incompetent Brandt has been. So much was hidden from the board by Brandt's hiring after Walsh Anderson withdrew as counsel and administration to include the "investigation/witch hunt" on Palazzolo after he turned in the attendance fraud, etc. this community should rise up to insist Brandt's work for the district after Walsh, Anderson resigned as counsel is investigated by the State Bar of Texas and any fees to Brandt should be withheld until a full investigation of his legal advice/representation is reviewed. There are many conflicts of interest in Brandt's hiring. Furthermore, Brandt does not have the skills to represent FWISD in an appeal. TEA should also step in to investigate FWISD financial accountability. If you go to the TEA website there is an explanation of "Accountability". It is a short read but will explain to taxpayers what is expected from administration and board members. This administration and board needs to go into TEA conservatorship. BUT this won't happen until enough citizens make TEA aware of the financial mismanagement beginning in 2010 going forward related to administration raises and legal fees. The second issue that must be investigated is the reserve fund. Finally, the bond package was misrepresented to the taxpayers. The tax increase on the bond package was not part of the deal and should set every citizen in Fort Worth hair on fire!

  7. Also from Ann's blog - a comment about the new, inexperienced Principals and AP's coming from TCU. Really now. Is it THAT hard to figure out? MJ is the so-called "Resident Scholar (God forbid) at TCU and Ramos was recently made an Adjunct Professor there while Ashley is enrolled in an MBA Program. You really think there is NO connection? Look again. This is Fort Worth.
