What will Price do with FWISD Woes?

The Mayor has been quiet for the most part on the FWISD debacle that could be costing the city money. We know they like to keep things quiet because investors don't like issues. Just look at Dallas.
All we want is for clean up at the top of the district. Rumor is a task force may be created to look into the district governance. Will she truly help or cover up further?  Will she continue to support Tobi Jackson even when she is part of the mess?

We are sure Tobi wants to go into politics when her buddy Scarth retires just like she tried to run for Senate 10 seat as a democrat. We know she plays both sides when convenient.

What say you mayor?

  1. Why not start reform by ending this now? Enough blood and treasure has been spent. It has made Fort Worth a laughing stock state-side in legal-education. It is time to end this Board.

That's Ramos priest. Trying to figure out how that promotes PreK. Maybe pushing it at the pulpit or could he be leader of faith based organizations helping the district.

  6. As the stomach churns. Incumbents with horrible track records for the past five years, have cut their minions loose: This shot from Tobi Jackson supporter on Facebook. Kind of like the "pot calling the kettle" though. Given reports of the reason Jackson's daughter goes to Paschal. Good luck Mayor Price. This election is about to get a lot worse than failed litigation.

  7. Today's Election Quiz (courtesy of the same source on Facebook): What legally required information is missing from this expensive, professionally printed sign which now must be re-done? I wonder. Does Mr. Cole also have children going to Paschal and NOT EHHS?

  8. Just what FWISD needs. Another homophobe.

  9. Someone in a different string identifying themselves as from Paschal said he does have a child at Paschal. He lives as close to EHHS as Jackson does. Typical B.S. on this site trying to shame one person (Jackson) while ignoring another doing the same thing (Cole). Parents and students do have the ability in FWISD to transfer to other schools for programs of choice, because their home school didn't meet all the TEA criteria, and a few other reasons (bullying, etc.) Trustees and candidates should not be expected to abide by a different set of rules than afforded to other taxpayers. How many trustees or candidates even have school-age children?

  10. I agree with you and was trying to confirm that Cole also has a child at Paschal. While I also agree that the standards should be objectively applied to all, I further believe that Trustees are held to a higher standard and that their children should attend the schools they represent. That is my opinion. The schools in District 2 have dramatically worsened in the past 5 years. I believe the commitment to turn them around begins with the Trustee. Finally I agree that one of the biggest problems with the current Board is that the majority DO NOT have school age children.

  11. Several comments. I have to agree to disagree on the children/school attendance issue, but that's my opinion. Next, half the board is well beyond it's usefulness to taxpayers in terms of their advanced ages and need to step down for some fresh thinking. Where are all the 30-50 year olds - with children- who are willing to work long, hard hours for free? (Insert laugh here) Next, are you aware that when re districting occurred in 2012 that Moss was given several schools that were traditionally in District 2 and Jackson was given several very low performing schools that were previously in the districts of Simms and Moss? The numbers actually show that several schools in D-2 are improving, like Meadowbrook E.S. and Meadowbrook M.S., with MMS slated to be the STEM school (bringing STEM back to the east side once again!) The thing that should be of utmost concern to everyone is that the mobility rates at almost all of the east/southeast schools trend between 35 and 45 percent. How can we expect any student to stay on grade level, much less be successful, when they are being carted between schools 2-3-4X a year? That's disruptive to the whole school ecosystem, from classmates, teachers, counselor's and administrators. The entire board needs to wrap their heads around this issue, including those who represent less transient school populations.

  12. Mayor Price will do exactly nothing to try and help fix FWISD. She is for the status quo which is the same people getting re-elected, except for Ann. Price is bought and paid for and one of the buyers is Marti Leonard. Price has shown this is true through her support of Needham and Jackson and her support for the Bass brothers personal new arena and development zone around Will Rogers. She's the last person in Ft. Worth we can look to for help. Wouldn't it be nice if all of these fat cats that support her would really get behind the district and contribute to the city instead of just sucking it dry.

  13. For five years, Tobi has been her own worst enemy with Teachers/employees. She could do a lot to repair the damage if she would simply vette the employee situations which come before the Board instead of blindly following Needham's lead. Joe P's case being the best example. Over 5 years of disinformation and cover-up the Board has blown $1 million in self-insured coverage and is close to a second million from general funds. This has got to stop.

  14. In my opinion Board Members, now that you have read, seen and heard (though I am sure some did not bother), what are YOU going to do? Wouldn't it be completely appropriate to ask Needham to step aside? Does the Mayor have to step in to investigate and take action? If you do not, are you not accomplices? I think we ALL can agree that texting a photo of yourself in bed with a teacher/coach during the school day when she should have been on campus with the Principal of the school allegedly also there is pretty "off the wall", isn't it? Don't you agree you should have seen these statements when being briefed on the AHHS scandal? There are tons more.
Should she not have recused herself from voting on anything about Palazzolo? This is not about winning or losing in endless litigation it is about right and wrong plain and simple.

I posted this in the "Nightmare" story but wanted to make sure others saw it.
    I've got one more for you from the AHHS black hole. Do you remember the Domino's Pizza guy who was murdered by 3 teenagers? Two were from AHHS. Joe P. worked with them in 2009-10. When he was transferred by Needham, they went off the deep end. The address they used to lure Fred that fateful day was the same phony address they originally used to enroll in AHHS. The older brother was so huge, he literally threw off handcuffs as a police officer attempted to apprehend him. The only person he could relate to was Joe P. I laugh when people say as educators our responsibility ends at the property line of the school. That just proves how little you know about life in an urban school. In most cases, as illustrated here, we ARE the ONLY stability these kids have. I wonder Board Members;
would Fred still be alive if you hadn't chosen to "shoot the messenger"? Would three young lives have turned out very differently? Here is the CBS 11 report still on You Tube with over 1,000 hits. You fired the wrong person. Neta Alexander is still out there acting like a principal. Needham knew this story as did Speer, Reyna, Menchaca and most of us.

  17. Okay Insider, perhaps you should share the pic. I mean it's difficult to deny something like that when there's a picture. We've seen several pics in the last few days of former AHHS teacher with his student, Dugan and his former student with a child he fathered and nobody could say anything. Just remarks about how disgusting but, not one remark from Ann that indicated any future actions. Yes I know she's just one person but, she could move mountains if she chose! I'm still hoping that she will and stop saying that she didn't know. Okay now she does let's see! So, if you have a pic then share the damn thing! These corrupt people must be exposed! Period! Once exposed, let's see what is done or what is not and then we will see people for who they are and that includes Ann. I think she will choose the right path and she deserves an opportunity to show everyone that she is a person of integrity!

  18. I posted this elsewhere, but the pizza incident happened in 2009 while you say Joe was working with the students. The dates don't compute.

You are correct. He worked with them in the 2008-09 school year.

  21. I wondered the same thing, as I passed the huge billboard with "the priest ", driving on I 35 on the Northside! WTH FWISD, a priest? Really! !!!! Is this district that desperate with their image that they hired a priest to soften up the evilness that is FWISD? C'mon, even "The Exorcist " had a priest and we all know what happened to him! 😈
