RAMOS HAS CHANGED TUNES AND NOW DANCES TO SPECIAL INTERESTS

We reported a while back during a story about Metro and how the staff had not heard from their representative on what would happen to them with the bond issue.

Ramos stated then that he would not allow any merger of the school regardless.  At that point we got an answer because nothing had been said.

Now Ramos has flipped and will support a merger of the schools because there is a "good plan."  It is interesting that the people he is appeasing are the same ones that apparently supported him with money and also his "mentors"  Yet the students he is tasked with protecting are the same that will be hurt by the merger.  He said during his campaign that he is not a politician and would not become one.

How times change and now he is politicking on the backs of our students.  Apparently the Technology Department needs a home and the site that was originally decided upon is too far for them.  So now they are going to inconvenience the 70+ students who need a safe environment and who knows where they will end up.  So they are lying to the public that the school only serves a minimal amount of students to satisfy the adults.

Once again deals are being made in secret and the public has no information.  The teachers are worried and upset that they are being played with.  So much for the campaign rhetoric and lack of from sitting members and candidates.  Students once again on the losing end.

As we have said it folks, the very few are going to benefit and they don't need help and our neediest will be tossed around like nothing.  Hence we wonder why our district is dysfunctional and how the ones that pledged to help are now devouring and have become hypocritical.

Did Ramos say hi to his mistress at Metro?

  1. Is it too early to look for someone to run against this hole. He's so bad he makes the fat dr. look like the best board member ever.

  4. Why aren't the other Board Members addressing the girlfriend he got Dansby to hire? Isn't that illegal? I mean isn't she something like his wife?

  6. Good point. I know both were reported to TEA. Maybe we need to report them to the Attorney General or Lieutenant Governor. DISD is always in the news - completely transparent - and look at this Board.

  7. Don't look now but these idiots are out to start another search for Superintendent - WITH THE SAME SEARCH FIRM that screwed up the first. Really want to be sick? That airhead Ashley Paz is at it again in the Star T. Wonder if Ann felt the jabs?
"Board member Ashley Paz said it would be important to include any new board members in the selection of the district’s next superintendent. The board can also take the extra time to mend any divisions that were created during first search, she said."
“We need to take that time just to work on ourselves as a board and do some healing.”
Funny - nothing about the Womanizer or Dugan, or the other stories here.

  8. Exactly! I wonder sometimes if $$ was paid for keeping so silent? Something just doesn't make sense! How are they able to brush under a rug and remain unscathed?

  9. Has it been decided to move Metro to Middle Level or Middle Level to Metro???

  10. The insanity of this board is CRAZY! Sutherland too! Same Supt search firm during elections. Yep, that's gonna work! Dugan has a baby with a student and is employed. Board members having mistresses hired? Can TEA not help here?

  11. I'm not sure if ciafwisd/blog is aware but Gayle Reaves is leaving the FWW as reported in the latest issue. All who post here will lose a champion for teachers, parents, children and friends of FWISD seeking TRUE reporting on the FWISD issues that concern us all. Anyone interested in showing Gayle a fond farewell and best wishes in her next endeavor can do so. I for one will miss her "Static" column and encourage all "commenters" take an opportunity to send her your best wishes in this week's issue.

  12. Sutherland will loose her election to a person all employees no has no ethics or personal integrity. Why? Because Sutherland is waffling again. Like Vasquez and Rangel who thought they could befriend these snakes, Sutherland obviously believes going silent will somehow win her re-election. It won't. You should be speaking OUT about Ramos and merging Metro but you are not. Frankly our focus has got to be on unseating Tobi Jackson. UEA will experience a tremendous drop in membership next time around when we can afford to drop them. Ramos should be thrown off the Board right now. He should be investigated and charged for getting his second wife a job as a sitting Board Member.

  13. Lest I forget, why has no one on the Board mentioned a word about Needham being photographed in bed with Isabel Perry during school hours and it being sent to all AHHS Coaches and some Teachers via text? (Also a typo above - should have been "..employees know has no...."

  14. I understand your concerns. However, because I am not on campus to campus at this point these allegations are disturbing but I cannot comment until I am given actual documentation. I was the first person to see the documents related to the AHHS scandal so I can say without hesitation everything Joe produced to administration was factual. Therefore, until I see actual documentation of the allegations to which you're referring, I cannot say more than this. Feel free to contact me off line if you would like to discuss these matter and/or produce documents, I will keep your concerns, etc completely confidential.

  17. I am sorry but I cannot use blog posts to investigate allegations. I do respect and appreciate your concerns. If elected anyone who brings the original documentation of wrongdoing to me you can be assured matters of this nature would be properly handled in a confidential nature. Again, if you have actual documentation, I would discuss and follow through to resolution. Matters of this nature must be handled correctly. Our justice system protects everyone....innocent until proven guilty. Not guilty until investigated. I do not like these allegations any more than you do but the rule of law applies here.

  19. Thank you for your understanding. Rumors and gossip can be hurtful. I realize one of my weaknesses is I haven't had the experience of being a teacher or employee of FWISD. While my 3 children all attended schools in District 5, I can speak as a parent I was amazed at the changes at AHHS between my first graduating in 1991 and my last graduating in 2010. I saw the documents related to the attendance fraud, the differences in discipline of minority students and others, failing students being told to not be at school during TAKS testing and learning disabled students not receiving required services in their IEP plus having their names called over loud speaker. Not to mention the adults running amok, using foul language with adults but also with students and basically being insubordinate to school authority. Things which would never be allowed in the business world. I can guarantee if elected and similar issues are brought to my attention I will protect those bringing the complaints and will do all in my power to see corrective action is taken. Joe P. never intended to embarrass FWISD he simply wanted to inform administration through the chain of command and do the right thing for the district. But instead they attempt to destroy his reputation, even though there was nothing of a negative nature in his employee file, and fired him TWICE. FWISD has a code of conduct for students yet seem to turn a blind eye to adult wrongdoing. Then the so called adults wonder why the kids act out? Kids learn what they see. We no longer live in a world of "do as I say not as I do.

  20. I opposed using the same firm in exec session. The others differed.

  21. No one knows better about the impact rumors and gossip have on a person's reputation than Palazzolo. What this Board led by Needham - who NEVER should have been voting on his issues - did to him is reprehensible. As the Board continues to drag his case out, I hope more and more of what is going on in this District is exposed. To imply that the DOCUMENTED evidence of misconduct by Needham and Ramos is "rumor and gossip" demonstrates pure ignorance.

  22. Thank you for stating that. I know my friends and I feel it is important to know that you are not voting for the same of harmony or some ridiculous concept of "healing". Children, Parents and Teachers need to know they still have at least one voice on the Board.

  23. Reading all of the comments is interesting. However going forward there is so much to address on these and other issues related to conditions in the classroom for student learning to improve and occur; hiring a new Superintendent; and giving the Super authority to overturn past practices and implement best practices administratively. The disgust and incredulity of the personnel matters is justified. Hiring a strong Superintendent who will have the backbone to tell the board he/she will clean house in the administration building has to be the start of change insuring dollars recovered will be directed toward the classroom where education occurs. What I will share next comes from personal experience several years ago. Briefly, I was working under a grant at a community mental health agency with an administration as disturbed as FWISD. As a newbie outsider I asked too many questions which ultimately got me fired w/o cause. Through FOIA I gathered financial records from the agency. I contacted the Texas Rangers who began an investigation. The local paper also began investigating the agency. I took documentation to the State HHS agency director in Austin, filed reports with CPS and finally met with FBI agents. Ultimately all of the administrators involved in the wrongdoing, Executive Director, CFO, and other top administrators took early retirement. The agency was discovered to be double dipping in Medicaid and Medicare funds having to repay $$$$ and the agency business model changed dramatically. This did not happen overnight but with time and perserverance (sp) personnel matters improved as did client services. I encourage all going forward to start by making CPS reports, notifying Texas Rangers, the DA, and all other state and federal agencies and file a report with EEOC if you suspect retaliation will be all the thanks you'll get from FWISD administration. We must protect the children entrusted to our care. I know I'm preaching to the choir in saying this. Change happens slowly...to quote Seinfeld....it's like rocking over a Coke machine! No one can unring the bell of past transgressions. What has happened cannot be allowed to continue. I have a steep learning curve if elected. God willing, I am up to the task to work for changes administratively and for the betterment of our schools.

  24. It is my understanding TEA initially took the position to not get involved in the local educational authority. This is why FWISD was allowed to "investigate itself". ...supposedly under the rubric of "small government". It will take many letters to the TEA/Inspector General from as many citizens as possible with copies going to the State Auditor to get TEA and State Auditor intervention.

  25. Ann, keep up the good work. Keep pushing back on absurd decisions such as using same search system. Ask to see the procurement contract with this firm. According to state bidding laws, this contract should follow procurement rules set up by Government Accounting laws of the state. This might slow down contracts you are concerned about. The Fort Worth business assistance center which is a free service can assist FWISD in letting contracts properly. Fort Worth has qualified retired business executives such as retired military and other retired business executives who could be considered for the position of Superintendent. They would not be beholdin' to education organizations who are only interested in helping candidates build their reputations in education. We need a Superintendent with the backbone to tell the board and the administration he will remove anyone in central administration whose position is redundant and/or who is not qualified and overpaid in their current positions. Recouping the money being wasted on the "dead wood", nepotism and cronyism in the administration bldg. could be spent where learning happens in the classroom. Also, with the exception to actionable personnel items discussed in executive session, there is very little which cannot be shared with the public discussed in exec session related to Open Meetings Act rules and regulations. It is time for a board governance committee and review of the Open Meetings Act by this board and the future board. The public has a right to know.
