ANOTHER BOND PROMISE BROKEN

We love Politician gimmicks and propaganda when it comes to getting wha they want.  The bond just keeps on piling up.

We come to a promise of universal PK that was sold to the voters.  Remember this will solve all the academic problems the district has.  So we take it as they have given up on the rest of the students and want to begin anew with PK.

We all know that PK is important because of the poverty that our students face and don't have many learning opportunities.  We were told that PK classes would be packed.  Yet all we hear is...

well we hear nothing because the message is not going out from the district.  What are they doing?  They are getting paid big money and they sit and do nothing to spread the message.  Where are the big people like board members?

Well we know of some that are in the limelight at events in Dallas to get glorified but the CommUNITY is suffering.  The same people that are running now for the Board have done squat to improve anything.

So once again the VOTERS were SUCKERED into a bond that has not lived up to its hype.  But hey we got turf at every field so let's pop the champagne!

Here are the spots filled so far... maybe with this blog they will get right on it.

  1. Well when Dr Rangel, yes the wife of the former board member is in charge of the roll out! What do you expect? Talk about a babbling idiot. I have to sit in meetings with her. I do wish I could give details, but I would be fired immediately. Please look into this, and maybe how she got ger high paying position while her husband was a board member!

  2. Please, enough already! You act like nepotism and cronyism are new here! I can't remember when it was ever different! That's at least 12 years! I don't know how it is in other districts but FWISD is riddled with nepotism and cronyism and I think it's so laughable that people comment on this blog as if it were something new! I think the question should be more like, "who was hired on the sole basis of qualifications?" Here's something else to ponder, why is my principal telling us to not mark tardies? For real, yes he told D.McRae Elementary teachers to no longer put tardies into FOCUS! LMFAO! Cracks me up? How many dumb idiots must we suffer through for the damn BOE to give a crap! I'm not holding my breath! Keep having those principal meetings, please as often as possible! I don't how much more incompetency I can take!

tardies don't count anymore for state purposes. Absences are what count.

  4. In FWISD, clearly 1/2 of all Assistant Principals and every Principal are related to some current or retired FWISD employee (unless they are former lovers). How else do they keep their jobs? How do you justify Principals going to superintendent classes during the school day? Or Counselors working on their Masters or Administrator Certification during the school day instead of seeing children? Ability to lead DOES NOT MATTER. Effectiveness with children DOES NOT MATTER. It starts with the Board. We got rid of Rangel and what does the Latino Community get? RAMOS who doesn't bring his wife, he brings one of his girlfriends! What we need to ensure is that voters become aware of this BLOG before the election. La Beau may not be the strongest candidate but if this ISD is to have ANY FUTURE we have to get rid of Judy Needham and the other amoral, self-seeking politicians who support her: Jackson, Robbins. With no one running against Moss (As if you really don't KNOW whose District you live in) Sims a sleeping embarrassment (more concerned with making a personal record for length of time on a School Board - NOT EFFECTIVENESS), and the potential of Cole (no different than Jackson) the East Side will be mired in failure unless Aguilar is elected.

  5. Somebody should tell paschal

  6. Another POLITICAL solution to make Texas education LOOK better than it is. For children to be successful there has got to be structure and support in the classroom. This is just another example of the constant erosion of structure. So $$$ is not at stake - now every student can come and go as they please without consequence.

  7. There is a difference between state rules, which pertain to funding, and local rules which are designed to maximize the educational experience. Not counting tardies and penalizing children for excessive tardies, is inviting trouble--not only in the halls. It's very hard to get a class moving when kids are trouping in late and one has to adjust the attendance repeatedly . . . especially when the office wants reports during the same period.

    This is a bad policy.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Once again Dr. Sutherland, you are absolutely correct. Too bad more of the Board does not follow your lead. Teachers need RELIEF from Central Office B*** S***
I can't think of one local rule being followed to "enhance the educational experience" (what a novel idea).

  9. So so true. No tardy policy, NO dress code, RTI nonsense, no parking policy accountability. Someone help!!

  10. Okay, let's give this some practical numbers to work with! There's 180 days in our school calendar and let's say that you have one student that is late just 5 minutes (most days but not every day) for 100 of those 180 days. Now that's more than 8 hours of instruction that is missed! Look we all know how important it is to get all students here on time so, why has our district missed yet another MARK! Yes, perhaps it's easier on the data clerk to not have that to keep up with but this isn't what is best for kids! Maybe if our data clerk and secretaries were not online doing college classes then they might have time! Sad sad sad!

  11. According to Dr. Mossige, whom I queried, here is the rule: Paschal has a four minute passing period and then a minute grace period before students are considered tardy. Most teachers have a place in classrooms for students to sign in when they are tardy or they mark it is the FOCUS software and assign detention after the 4th tardy.

We know there are management issues. The school has to set the expectation. As far as who records student attendance by law its the teacher. The district agreed like all campuses to take attends e by 10 AM and no earlier. This is a requirement by the state. I take it no one has been reminded

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ann is correct on all points here. I'm reading lots in state median about truancy issues as well. It seems some kids are leaving school with "records" making it difficult after graduation to get a job and/or get into preferred school. At one time Dispute Resolution Services trained mediators to resolve truancy tickets. Is FWISD's truancy court referring parents to DRS?

  14. I will raise this at the Mar 24 board meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So your saying it's ok? Because they are not white?!

    ReplyDelete
  16. The UPK has not been marketed properly! The notes that were sent home with current students talked about proving income and were not clear that the rules have changed so everyone has a spot regardless of language and income. Also the schools under construction should have held their PreK round up AFTER the other local schools did so they could get the overflow enrollment, but sadly some were scheduled first, so enrollment will be low until the home campuses finish their round-ups. This is such an awesome program that deserves much better promotion!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tired, what are you talking about??!!? I said nothing about white. If I refer to the "pale" I typically say "Anglo" not white. Hahaha! Plus, what are you saying that I said wasn't okay? Maybe you need some rest.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "Dr. Mossige" What a joke. Another doctorate earned on school time courtesy FWISD. Another "dr. " who knows NOTHING about school leadership or child engagement.

    ReplyDelete
  19. We hope that's not the ONLY issue you are raising Tuesday. So much has come to light in the past three weeks. There is a lot the Board needs to explain and correct.

    ReplyDelete
  20. We'd like to see you at the Board meetings speaking during public comment - maybe in support of Ann.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Another MJ protégé who knows nothing about educating kids.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This post re pre-Kindergarten is helpful in getting a discussion going, but I am not yet concerned about enrollment. There are a lot of openings now, for sure, but if last year is any guidance, almost all slots will be filled when school starts. This is the second of our phases.

This chart is being handed out so that principals in schools which are full can direct parents to other campuses with available slots.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Here's something--you are being told that the board cannot respond to public comment and that this is the law. FALSE. Board policy BE(Legal) says, "If a member of the public or of the Board inquires at a meeting about a subject for which notice has not been given, the notice provisions do not apply to a statement of specific factual information given in response to the inquiry or a recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry. Any deliberation of or decision about the subject of the inquiry shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda of a subsequent meeting. Gov't Code 551.042 [the public meeting statute].

So your public comment questions CAN be answered, and so can my questions during the meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ann, now we really need you to ask the tough questions. Its self preservation. I think you HAVE to ask why your own attorneys tried to remove you from the last Board Meeting; why letters to the Board from residents of Santa Fe were not made public; what about all the suppressed evidence from the Palazzolo trial which this blog just published? Why was it withheld from the Board? I personally would like answers to the allegations of misconduct by Needham and Ramos - after all, Needham is openly supporting and funding your opponent. Ramos is openly supporting the opponent of Jackson. I think we're all sick of the Palazzolo thing dragging on. Why not ask for a public vote to end it? SCA's, bullying in workplace; Dugan; Benbrook Middle; discipline, the rise in employee/student affairs which even TEA announced yesterday is at an all time high.

    ReplyDelete
  25. There's your cue Linda.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I am working on this (see post below on our right to ask questions). Re Palazzolo I think we need to go through the appeal, which I have asked for a report on. I don't know why the attorney didn't want me in the room but can guess he had reasons that he thought the appeal might prevail and he was afraid I would tell (which of course shows he doesn't know me very well).

  27. Wow. How does that stab in the back feel Joe? I personally put together one of the packets with teacher statements which were sent to all sitting Board Members including you Ann before the Board voted to terminate him. Very, very disappointed. I predict this was a shot in foot. I will NOT be supporting you if you allow this travesty to continue and will instead actively work against you. This is about all teachers. It's about workplace bullying. Retaliation. Incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You aren't really surprised by this are you?

    ReplyDelete
  29. We did get one packet of information with unsigned letters that were poorly crafted and unconvincing. That is why I was so shocked when Betty Brink published the REAL letters. I don't doubt that you may have prepared packets of strong letters but I can tell you they were not sent to board members by the staff. The administration never told us that Mr. Palazzolo's personnel file had no negative information in it at the time the board voted 6-3 to terminate him.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "The Pale?" How freaking offensive! Seriously. What a biggot.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They were the same letters posted in the nightmare story. Betty never published them. I for one am really tired of the political tap dancing. Grow a spine and stand up. You know this is all wrong. Guess you forgot about his Open Meetings Suit. Where was the public vote on the appeal?

    ReplyDelete
  32. That is truer than true. Leadership doesn't come from titles. It comes from consistency, professionalism, fairness, example. It does not come from yelling, playing favorites, and running roughshod over the ones you "lead". PHS has a culture of bullying from the top.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ann, there may be a "policy" for tardies but it is completely ignored. Just like the "dress code".

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm sorry. This is too confusing for me to respond to. I have previously responded to questions on the appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I truly hope he is able to embarrass you and the Board again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Tired, wheres your sense of humor?!?! I was trying to be funny and for the record I AM ANGLO (very pale indeed) and happily married to an African American for 20 years! My sister is also a lesbian and I love her for being exactly who she is! So maybe it's not too funny but, it's hilarious to those who know me. Since you don't know me I'll give you a pass😆😆😆. I'm definitely a FIRECRACKER though and I call others out for less so, probably won't attempt humor while blogging! Hahaha.

  37. Thanks for the response, I appreciate that. Sorry if I offended. We all need to remember to fight the good fight.

So Ramos sold his soul. First Espino doesn't support him. Then he does. Ramos bashes Espino and now look what time does. They have no values or principles because they go where it is convenient. Kind words?

  39. So true...he bashed them all; Rangel, Vasquez, Espino, Romero, even Stonewall guy Gutierrez. A true poltician he has become...a true latino man!

  40. Agreed. This has gone on long enough.

  41. On Granbury Rd, there is a billboard advertising the PreK program. Of course it's been covered with graffiti so you can't read easily. I guess even the gang bangers know it's a boondoggle.

  42. Yes we do and I'm glad you called me out for it. Especially, if there was a chance it was true! Happily, it wasn't. 😊
