NO REAL CHANGE COMING SOON

If you are keeping up with results, it looks like the board will stay as is unless there is divine intervention.. which seems unlikely

Another four years that we as teachers have to endure with a divided board and now the fight to get a superintendent.  Low voter turnout favors the money elite and so it happened in this election.  For some reason people are not hungry for anything different.

We hope Sutherland pulls it out because we need someone who can at least voice our concerns and hear us out.

Oh yeah it official HATERS ANN's BACK! Yippeeeeeeeeeee! 🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😆😆😆😆😆😆. What was that idiot saying the other day? I can't wait until linda and Ann were gone! Well guess what WE GOT SOMETHING RIGHT! Take a look at 1117👀. Yuuup you just thought you were ahead after early votes. Oh to the hater who called Ann an embarrassment today, the embarrassment is your complacency with BS Ann calls this board out for! 111 double digit raises for non-teaching positions, $66k/for Fwisd employee Rafaela Gomez NO COLLEGE DEGREE! Hello teachers with Master degrees DONT MAKE THAT-even with 10+ years experience! Yup there are plenty of embarrassments in this district and ANN IS NOT ONE OF THEM! If you need help with seeing some of the embarrassment, I suggest you either look in the mirror or do a little research YOU TWIT!!!!!

  2. Congratulations Ann! Thank God you won. Kudos too to Linda, Joel and Cole for at least having the courage to publicly run against these incumbent thieves. Now the ball is in spineless Steven Poole's court to hold Tobi Jackson to her word. Let's see if she really will change and begin LISTENING to Teachers and Parents, doing the research before listing blindly to Needham. If not, we will see what UEA does about it. What this election proved is that after 20+ years, the minority communities (now the majority in many precincts) still have no advocate. They are abused by their own who sell out for driveways, jobs, promotions and elections: Sims, Moss, Dansby, Ray, Tatum, Vasquez all leeches. Others announce candidacies without knowing where they live. Pathetic. Shame on all the ramble rousers who talked smack for over a year and never got out to assist any candidate. I for one am tired of listening to your BS. In all seriousness Tobi - you have won. Now please do something to help others and improve FWISD.

  4. Ooooh Malikk you think you sound so smart! Ha! I've been reading your posts. You claim that you know so much about Texas Education Code. You must be in a class right now, so you feel impowered. If you think the A-F system will change education, you are a bigger fool than I thought. Good job Sutherland, stay away from idiots like this.

  5. Congratulations Ann and thank God. Please continue the fight for transparency in FWISD. Kudos to Linda and Joel for trying. Sad we were unable to win another seat for kids - THIS time. We need to start now for the next election. We need replacements for Robbins and Sims. The real tragedy with keeping Jackson and Needham is the impact it has on minority children and those great Teachers who were on the verge of leaving. Sadly, FWISD will continue its decline: hiring relatives; making the inept look good; insider business deals; and mindless litigation will continue to be the focus while educating children will take a far back seat. The Black and Latino communities have got to come together if our children are ever to succeed in FWISD. Re-electing racist carpet-baggers will only ensure the school to prison pipeline is well supplied. Now we shall see (again) what Tobi Jackson is made of: if her record of voting against teachers and children improves and how effectively UEA holds her feet to the fire. As evidenced by Needham, Jackson, Leonard and Lane, low voter turnout assures victory for the ruling class. Sad, sad, day for those districts.

  6. Staff proposed last week during the Board Agenda Review to certify the election results and swear in the elected officials next TUESDAY (5/19) during a budget workshop (not even a legal meeting!) when almost no public would attend. Gosh. It makes you wonder what else they might have been planning.

  7. Ann, you have GOT to KEEP speaking out and exposing their games. Please do not let them exclude you from ANYTHING! Keep holding their feet to the fire. Fight back against that attorney Brandt.

Congrats to you Ann! I'm elated to have someone in office that will at least make things difficult for those that are not about the children. I was looking forward to seeing Mr. Cole up seat Tobi but once again it was one sided, it bothers me that the numbers were so low for the candidates and disappointing to me that not nearly half of the community voted! We have to do better with getting the community to understand the importance of who sits on the board and represents a district. There is a disconnect between school and community and its baffling. It seems no one is trying to bridge the gap between the two, Knowledge is power and if the community either doesn't care who represents their district or not receiving enough information this will be a vicious cycle and our school will continue to be left in the dark as those that represent them continue to overlook and play the family tree game.

  9. Linda wasted her money on this race. If you are going to run, then RUN! Don't play the old, "I'm not a politician" game and hope to defeat a long time incumbent. As a challenger you have to work twice as hard, raise twice as much money (see Moon) and mobilize a volunteer network to knock on twice as many doors. As for Jackson, the voters in D2 spoke loud and clear on who they want serving them for the next four years. Joel wasn't even a blip on the radar with his 9 percent of the vote. Again, another example of running a very poor campaign. Racist and anti-LGBT Cole with his collection of 40 black IRS law-breaking ministers couldn't even win all the predominatly black precincts in SE Fort Worth. Cole didn't just lose, he got embarrassed where he lives and works. Voters saw through his fake, smug persona and racist campaign tactics that even pissed off other black voters. Even if Jackson doesn't run again in 4 years, D2 needs a real candidate to step up, not fakes like Cole and Aguilar. In fact, Joel should run for the Burleson ISD board where he owns his home. Which leads me to Sutherland and Speer. Speer's biggest mistake was running such a negative campaign and not focusing on her ideas. That vote was still a lot closer than it should of been, and Ann is probably counting her lucky stars she survived. Ann would do herself well to understand a lot of her constituents aren't happy with her shenanigans. For once can we have a board that works together?

No doubt you supported Lane and Leonard. Gerrymandered districts, low voter turn out and the ability of the Dickerson machine to control the media (now even the Weekly which has reverted to being a third class rag). almost ruled the day except in D6. Ann's district has a higher percentage of educators - active and retired - all of whom support her continuing efforts and all of whom know all too well what kind of unethical person Speer is. If we are facing facts, then admit what saved Tobi is white fright which turned out the vote of the east side minority; a disengaged Latino Community and a continuing leaderless Black Community, plagued by the likes of sell-outs like "Sleepy Sims" and "hire my family Moss". Just consider the IDIOT who announced he was running against Moss - he didn't even know where he lived. Cole may be all of what you say but more importantly, he was no different than Tobi. His hand is in the FWISD cookie jar and his children do not attend the schools in D2. Ann survived the Dickerson/Needham big money push because we believe in her. Tobi is a fraud and sooner or later the minority majority will wake up to that. What is needed in FWISD is a federal probe - to include an audit - into what has been going on here. From insider contracts to endless litigation

Let's NOT forget Tobi made a PROMISE to CHANGE. That should be interesting.

"For once can we have a board that works together?" Working together does NOT mean voting unanimously every time, selling out your constituents, and covering up waste, fraud, abuse, retaliation, misconduct and insider deals. Do your damn job and do what is right. It was Tobi who promised she would "change" - not Ann. Time for Tobi to put her money where her mouth is - and NOT where he head has been for the past 5 years.

Jackson played on the fear of the white minority and sellout Uncle Toms like Sims. Those folks controlling this city know that once District 2 votes for a Black or Latino, it is NEVER going back. They can handle 2 Black representatives - especially since they own them. They dare not allow 3.

Change what? That's about as generic a statement as "insider deals", "hiring of relatives", etc. I wish everyone would stop using generalities void of any facts. I read where Ann took Linebarger money for her campaign. I guess that makes her an insider, too.

I understand East Side but let's not lose focus on what's important here, for me it's not about color here but more about getting the right person on the board to make some drastic changes to a school district that is doing way below average. Tobi has turned her back on these schools, SS Dillow Eastern Hills High and Elementary, Glen Park Forest Oak and others. Until we get that one person who is willing to take that position our children in that district will continue to fail and be unsuccessful.

Turned her back? You have no idea what you are talking about. Absolutely no clue. I am a REAL east side teacher, not a pretend one, and we we love Tobi for all she does for teachers and the students. Anyone who says otherwise has an ax to grind and isn't interested in th real facts.

  19. Here you go "Real" East Side Teacher. Do you recognize that idiot on the left? As a "REAL" Teacher surely you recognize the person who single-handedly destroyed countless campuses.
