THE CONTRACT IS $55 MILLION to AVILA's FIRM

So the mere number was not disclosed nor alot of information as it normally happens with our board.
What we are reading is that PAZ is ok with it because AVILA has been up front about it.  PAZ it is unethical to even consider it regardless.  What did you get in return for this?  Well let's not forget that Avila's father contributed to campaigns back in 2013 and more than likely that last ones.

Guess there are favors being given and this is a complete shame.  The STAR quotes Sims not happy with it and so those not in favor should vote no.

How many bids were given?  How was his firm better than any other?  Come on folks..

CORRUPTION, CORRUPTION and those voting in favor are Corrupted as well.
Here it's called the good old boy system.  TOCCO is walking the halls of FWISD!

  1. Ashley Paz - Do you have a BRAIN in your head? What in the hell is the matter with you? You are "comfortable" with this arrangement? You are also probably fine with Needham continuing to spend untold millions dragging the Palazzolo mess on and on and on. Dr. Sims, my hat is off to you Sir! Thank you for standing up at long last. Linares makes me laugh. She supposedly was bought by Tocco during the last scandal for a mere $20,000. Wonder what inflation has done to her price now? This Board needs to get rid of this idiot now before she promotes ANYONE else and spends further millions lining pockets and crucifying employees. This is just plain WRONG!!!

  3. She is getting something out of the deal; I believe it's acceptance into an MBA program @ TCU. I'm guessing no minimum GRE requirements either?? Just scandalous! Funny thing is though, all this damn corruption and then you get a side gig @ TCU. I would've expected more from a MOTHER but, that didn't help Tobi much! Here's something to ponder Ashley: "Do you wish to be a leader or a follower?" The students in this district will grow into adults and be a part of your own children's future so, will it be a positive or negative for them! NO PROFIT OFF OUR STUDENTS PERIOD! You think because he disclosed that it makes it okay?!?!? No it just makes him arrogant! Now which one are you? Please try and think before you speak, unless you admire the Sarah Palin thing!

  4. Hang on minute before you tip your hat to Sleepy. He was one of those board members that picked who he wanted to do work in his district in the Tocco bond, and he picked a convicted felon, and a lot of that $ 55 mil in this bond is going to Sims district. It seemed to me that that he was fishing more for his share with his comments rather than making sure the right thing gets done. He was also one of the board members that got concrete poured at his house along with Needham and Eldon Ray. He may seem like he's a sleep but when it comes to money, he's wide awake when it's time to pass it out.

  5. Paz continues to do and say EXACTLY what Dickerson tells her to say and how to vote.

  6. Just read the entire Star Telegram article and Pat Linares is full of shit! Sure we wouldn't allow... Blah blah blah!!! Just like we don't pay Rafaela Gomez $66k a year! Ms. Linares you are a LIAR! Plain and simple and Star Telegram is a joke! I wonder when was the last time they printed something entirely true????

  7. Let's see how he votes. The Minority communities have no one to blame but themselves for their lack of representation - including Tobi Jackson. Though she had big white $$$ behind her, all the money in the world would not have overpowered a majority of votes.

  8. What amazes me is that this guy who DAYS after being elected voted to censure Ann Sutherland though he had NO CLUE why. And though allegedly an attorney, he finds nothing wrong with an insider 55 MILLION dollar deal yet continues to refuse to accept a Jury award for a mere 2 million in after a trial the Board asked for and paying almost twice that just for legal fees. THIS is a proper steward of your taxpayer dollars?

  9. Please remember, Avila was not elected. All is opponents dropped out, one at the last minute so no one else could file, so he was unopposed and got the seat buy default. He does not have the electorates mandate and hopefully, when he comes up for election, he never will.

  10. I have to agree with your comment because the minority community does not stand up to vote in local elections. It is the minority communities who were flimflammed by Barnet Shale contracts, city council elections, TRWD and FWISD. Fort Worth is rapidly becoming a minority/majority city (check last census). If Hispanic and African/American (Black) community does not organize, the 1% which purchased this last local election will continue to reign to maintain the "white citizens council" of segregation days alive and well. I urge minority leaders to step up and step in before we reach a crisis point as we've seen in other cities such as St. Louis and Baltimore. The Mayor, Chamber, Downtown FTW Inc., and Bass family are tone deaf and do not represent the citizens of this community. These people do not send their children to public schools.
