  1. I've been perplexed about this claim that him being a principal in Dallas would make him a horrible trustee. Several board members work full time jobs. Several board members outside of FWISD work full time jobs. Tobi Jackson was a full time principle at a now defunct charter school. Aguilar's school is one of the best in the state, and improving under his leadership. I will take a successful principal over a failed on anytime.

If it's not obvious to you, then it's probably not worth explaining. Principals of high schools are expected to work long hours, some evenings and even some weekends. It's hard to even understand why he would pursue a board position knowing that his DISD responsibilities would get in the way of his serving the D2 schools, meeting with parents, potential partners, attending events to network with people/groups who could help FWISD, etc. Of course, he has a cush job at the magnet school filled with nothing but good students that probably doesn't take that much extra time. That's it, maybe he's bored! I spoke to one of my former principals, who is now at another school, and asked her thoughts on this, and she just laughed and said "No way" among other choice words. It's one thing to work in the same city where you serve, because you've probably already gotten assurances from your employer that you would be allowed time off to fulfill those responsibilities by taking longer lunches at times or leaving early once in a while. You think Mike Miles in DISD is going to grant Joel time off to serve the people in Fort Worth when he has a high school to serve in Dallas? Come on, who are you kidding? He would probably find himself working in his 4th ISD in the last, what, 10 years if that happened.

  4. The complete ignorance of the Jackson/Needham Kool-Aid drinkers NEVER ceases to amaze me. Jackson has a track record of voting consistently AGAINST students, teachers and parents for the past five years. Her resume is fluff. Compare it to one of her victims - Palazzolo. She is a joke! Her kids do not attend the schools she represents. She has voted AGAINST every teacher who came before the Board. In response to that moron below, "Miles wouldn't be happy" - you are a liar and a fool. You should ask Dickerson what questions he asked candidates and what offers he made if they withdrew. He did the same thing with Avila's opposition. When that didn't work it was outright "threats" of outspending his campaign. "Principals of high schools are expected to work long hours, some evenings and even some weekends." ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? You OBVIOUSLY don't know the majority of Principals in FWISD. If the are not related to someone, they are screwing someone. Moreover, half of them are NEVER AT THEIR SCHOOLS. They are off taking courses to get more certification during the school day. This has gone on for years and continues RIGHT NOW. How in the HELL do you think Mossig became "Dr." anyway? What a joke. I pray we throw this fraud out into the street. I don't care how many idiots endorse her - including Sleepy Sims. That man is a disgrace to the Black Community he supposedly represents. Vote Aguilar or Cole but throw Tobi out!

You are a great example of why everyone should, and will, vote Jackson. If your candidates represent 1/10th of the hate, lies and unfounded claims you represent on their behalf, anyone with any sense would never vote for them. You represent classic misinformation, which is a tactic often used by underdogs in a desperate attempt to ruin the credibility of a clear front runner and crowd favorite. God bless us if either of the other two candidates discovers a miracle and ... I can't even say it, the thought is so disturbing. I'm sorry your experience with principals hasn't been the same as mine. I count 11 principals I've worked under in two districts, and all 11 were as I described -- dedicated, hard workers, last one out of the building, one of the first ones there the next day. Based on the commitment I've seen, I would frankly never want to be a principal. Obviously you've had a different experience. I'm not going to call you a liar, as you have done to me repeatedly. I'll just suggest that if you are so truly unhappy, then leave the FWISD and take your talents elsewhere. I hear DISD is hiring.

  8. Name calling speaks to your character. Evidently you missed my Open Letter to District 5. After seeing Needham's false claims in her campaign flyer, I felt compelled to inform voters of the lack of fiduciary duty by Ms. Needham and during campaigning learned how infrequently she visited schools in her District 5 and her lack of equal representation to the minority/majority population and requiring harsh punishment of minority students. Witness the inappropriate comments made about Burton Hill School during the last board meeting. It has not gone unnoticed Ms. Needham does not use her name when posting comments to this blog. The response I've received from taxpayers has opened their eyes to why District 5 needs new representation. Other than multiple campaign flyers with the same false claims and her partnership with Marty Leonard sigs along side her signs ....in 50 shades of purple....Ms. Needham has made no attempt to be at public forums, neighborhood associations, or any other public place to defend her record. Voters are not stupid when given an alternative after 19 years as trustee with the deplorable ranking of FWISD as an urban school district by Texas Tribune reflects Ms. Needham's need to graciously retire.

  9. Thank you for openly declaring you are going to commit voter fraud by voting in 2 districts. Or is it that you simply don't understand that you can only vote in one. By all means vote but you really should educate yourself on the process before you do.

To PHS Parent aka; Tobi Jackson or Matt Avilla or whichever uninformed person you are: The simple fact that you could continue voting for Needham after 19 YEARS of DECLINE in FWISD and the past FIVE YEARS of proven patronage, ass-kissing, and ignorance of Tobi Jackson tells anyone ALL they need to know about you. Don't agree with many of the campaign decisions LaBeau made - in many ways I think she shot herself in the foot - but make no mistake, her heart is in the right place. Not everyone could anticipate the diabolical nature of the Needham/Leonard/Dickerson machine. Tobi is a waste of breath. She only cares about her political career as do those other oafs on the Board EXCEPT for Ann Sutherland. She has stood alone after Vasquez and Rangel sold out. Those two fools betrayed their base and lost because many of us simply did not show up to vote. MJ was Needham's mistake but Dansby was their's. Linares is no better as the illegal activity has continued. When Ann is re-elected today I only hope Aguilar and/or Cole are able to throw Jackson out as well. Who knows? God willing LaBeau will shock everyone with a groundswell of disgust for Needham. I know one thing: Teachers and employees (not administrators related to or screwing each other) will have no one to blame but themselves if Jackson and Needham are re-elected. I am also hoping the FEDS will finally come in and investigate fronts like "Citizens for Great Schools" for voter fraud. Offers of $$$ and positions to influence elections are illegal. Maybe the new D.A. will step up. Dickerson should be in jail not only for what he has done to FWISD, but for what he continues to do. Too bad the Black Community has no ethical advocate. I am hoping if elected, Cole will break that mode.

  11. By your very nature you ARE kool-aide drinkers you idiot. Why else would you be voting for Needham or Jackson?

    Responding to educatethis60:

Whether you are Tobi or not, you certainly are very close because you seem to know a bit more than you claim. The principal that you spoke to is Cherie Washington the former principal of Eastern Hills. I am sure you got her to say what you needed to claim that the principal candidate could not serve District 2. What did you do Tobi? In 5 years how many times did you visit the other schools? Based on your voting record, how many times did you vote for teachers and for a change in the district? Why haven't you asked for the resignation of all of the cabinet who have caused the issue we have?
Why don't you go visit the school where the principal is at and see what they do and how cushy the job is. Interesting enough that the school is a Title I school with about 70% free and reduced lunch. All students can apply to become part of the school and if you know the history of Dallas, which you don't, there is a reason why certain numbers are allowed. But you are just distracting from the fact that you have been useless in advancing any particular change because you work for Needham, she has you so under skirt that you can't think for yourself. YOu have to rely on endorsements to make it seem that you have done something because you can't stand on your own merit. Tell me why you didn't get parents from all walks of life to endorse you? Did you happen to go by areas south of 287, did you actually talk to parents face to face? It is sad for you. Sad that you can allow people to mistreat employees, parents and students and still not care enough to change it. We hope this is the end of you and all your cronies.

Don't worry about the long hours.. I am sure he can manage, that is called leadership and being organized. you have all the time in the world and can't do more than stick to one part of the world and people that tell you how great you are. Why haven't you talked to the african american community who have invited you to talk to them?
