IN THE AGE OF DEFICITS, MORE RAISES FOR THE TOP

So the votes, if we watched correctly, 6-3 to give raises to administrators and a new hire.  No surprise that the gang voted together.

So the change that Tobi Jackson stated is empty because the House of Cards continues it's doing.

Tell us how this is logical to be giving more money to the people at the top and when we are in need of teachers we are not even being competitive.  Tell us Board Members where teacher raises will fit in when you vote on the budget next month?  I am sure that you will have an excuse not to give teachers a raise because there is no money.

The other side is hiring or promoting when you have no plan in place going forward nor goals nor anything.  There is a leadership vacuum that is being taken advantage of by Linares and Company.  Those of you who voted in favor have no dignity.  You keep on with the same people that have brought us where we are and you are fine with it.

What a shame....

Thank you Dr. Sutherland for your stance and once we have the video available we will post it.  Thank you to Trustee Ramos and Paz for joining the crusade....

UEA are you eating crow now?  your beloved Jackson has completely brought on an administrator that uses a bull horn to chide students and anti-teacher.  Shame on you as well.

  1. Now the CLOWN SHOW begins. How fitting at the very FIRST Board meeting after the election, after crying about the Bond shortfall and being broke, UEA supported Tobi Jackson (I promise to change) and that lying old bat the "Taxpayer Watchdog" (Needham for the ill-informed), vote to promote select individuals to senior level positions without announcing those positions and hiring competitively. Tell me Norm Robbins, is that how it's done at Lockheed? Didn't you testify FWISD doesn't retaliate? So do they also have fair hiring practices as evidenced by this? Hiring Cherie Washington is the ULTIMATE slap in the face to every teacher and child in this District. This person is yet ANOTHER incompetent idiot who was repeatedly promoted based on nepotism and patronage. She was so respected at EHHS that she had to use a BULLHORN to get the attention of students in her school hallways. She knows NOTHING about educating children. This is the D2 of Tobi Jackson. This is what the "Meadowbrook News" and Ray Dickerson's "Citizens for great Schools" scam wanted. ENJOY. And down the drain FWISD continues to go. I hope there are multiple complaints and even more litigation over this latest insider scam. Taxpayers wake up!!!. Is anyone in the Black Community watching how Sleepy and Moss voted? Were ANY of those promoted/hired without announcing the jobs Hispanic?

  2. I hear your anger! Now how do those of us who believe in our teachers....those of us who are not interested in politics of education....but believe in PUBLIC EDUCATION, come together to work smart? I know we are a small contingent of believers in fairness and equity. I decided to visit the board meeting last night to watch our new "taxpayer watchdog in action". However, I missed the opening act arriving when our new board ...read that with sarcasm... was in executive session. Lots of people being required to show up, I'm sure had as their laptops were open actually doing some work. Meanwhile our board was in the backroom cutting their deals, I imagine....wish I could've been a fly on the wall for that one..But as people waited politely, I elected to return home to do my work, deciding to take in the events on the video. So I opened my laptop, to listen to insipid music and message "IN EXECUTIVE SESSION"..... 9:22 p.m. still nothing so I went back to work....checked in at 10:30 p.m. and Nothing. How in the world did they complete their agenda items 4 pages front and back including 30 minutes allotted for Level 3 grievance near the very end of agenda....and couldn't believe what I'm reading this morning, Could someone give me a call to explain why it is necessary to put staff and public through Chinese water torture of local theater? Opening act followed by intermission for costume changes?....Then coming back on stage for a bing, bang boom of final words with these disturbing "executive decisions"? Isn't there a better way of doing business in public? No wonder this community is so suspicious and angry about the election results....not just FWISD players but also the TRWD? This local theater group, FWISD BOD, is absolutely the antithesis of so called change and taxpayer watchdogging or Open Government. Stop getting mad. Get even, We're smart people. Let's get organized.

  3. Where was Steven Poole and UEA?

  4. Same old, same oldMay 13, 2015 at 9:17 PM

He spoke in support of approving these positions! He said the district needs to "move forward" (a quote parroted by Linares during her disrespectful rebuttal to Ann Sutherland's comments about voting "NO"). Sutherland, Ramos and Paz need to be supported for voting the right way for the citizens & students of FWISD. This will make it that much harder for a new superintendent to clean house and pare down the bloated Central Administration.

  5. Why am I not surprised? Another reason to move to ATPE. Like supporting Jackson, UEA is part of the problem.

  6. Another disgusting "surprise" from Tobi Jackson. Wonder why this photo was not circulated before the election?

  7. If you weren't such a troll, you would know this picture was taken at the Paschal Harvest event after the election. You know, the initiative that help needy students. http://www.phsharvestproject.org

  8. Just wanted to thank the Star-Telegram for towing the districts line of BS on these raises. They seemed to emphasize Linares reasons for the raises while down playing and certainly never questioning why these people got ridiculous raises while the teachers and staff will be lucky if we get enough to cover the increases in insurance. How can that cow Linares say with a straight face that she wasn't trying to saddle the next super with contracts for people that he/she might not want in those positions much less at all or that they would hire Washington to a position, at $135,000 plus a year, that doesn't actually exist yet. I wonder if she's already being paid for this non existing job? Thanks to the Watch Dog, I'll change, sleepy, I wasn't really elected and I just want money for voting for the raises. I'm also surprised that Paz and Ramos actually did something right for a change. What does that make it... the first time for each of them.

  9. Since Sorum will be the next Superintendent, it really doesn't matter. He is walking the halls playing nice now, trying to build his network. It's coming people, he will be the Supt. Thank goodness I can retire soon!

  10. Speaking of Trolls, just look at the picture. If the two fools on the left really wanted to help needy students, they'd resign. MJ did more to destroy student futures in FWISD than anyone and dim-wit her erst-while supporter.

  11. Avila-AKA Cochino!!!May 17, 2015 at 10:25 PM

Okay isn't it illegal for any board member to receive financial gain through decisions made as a elected official? Avila you're a pig! There's a special place in hell for people who profit off children. Wheres the attorney general? I bet the Telegram won't mention this either.

  12. Sorry, I'm missing it. How is he profiting?

  13. He "works" for them. In fact, I believe his father in law owns the company.

  14. What a disgrace.

  15. I commend people who support the Paschal Harvest project, not call them a disgrace. If you were really a Paschal teacher you would be applauding them, not hating on them. I don't suppose you were there helping out, were you?

  16. You are a moron. The disgrace is that a sitting Board Member (the result of 6% voter turnout) of such a struggling ISD would be photographed with the primary architect of it's demise. If you cared about children, you would not be photographed with MJ - let alone even encourage her to attend. Bunch of wealthy political white folk trying to feel good about the dysfunction they helped create.
