FWISD ARE YOU BETTER OFF NOW THAN YOU WERE 5 YEARS AGO?

Think back FWISD to 5 years ago when this board, minus a few new ones, gave themselves an extra year on the board to make it a 5 year term rather than 4 years as most have done.  Now we come to this next cycle in 2015 that will decide the continued doom of our district or somewhat of a fresh start.  The biggest goal is to cripple the mafia!

We have had more than 5 years of Sorum and tell us teachers if things have improved for you?  Have students progressed further?  Have you been trained appropriately?  Have you received just compensation for your dedication?  Sorum and Company have gotten their fair share of raises and glory and can't produce one shred of data to show improvement.  They base it all on the STAAR test but can't articulate how the 30 or more schools that have failed will be improved.  It's more of the same.

We will highlight one board member who has already chosen re-election but we call it re-jection.
You will be seeing this logo for the upcoming campaign and if you watch her Facebook she is busy taking pictures to make sure that she is seen as caring for children and moving the education needle.  Not sure how she sees her needle but our is on EMPTY.  EMPTY promises, hurting our students, making sweet deals on the backs of our taxpayers.  Let's not forget how she feels about other children and why not since as board member she gets to choose what school her own children attend.
Let's see.. the daughter got a seat at the Young Women's academy which we assume she went through the same process as every other student in the district, which we doubt very much from conversations from people close to the school.  Then this school year she ends up at Paschal which we wonder if she went through the process of being accepted like every other student, which we doubt.  So the position has it's benefits.
Let's play back her comments on what kids should do who have to ride an hour on a bus just to go to a school of choice:  take it away Tobi!

Let's not be fooled folks because  you can't hide this.  Then let's go back to her deposition on the whole Palazzolo case, she not knowing that she was meeting with people who had an interest in the district and should not have happened even with the Mayor present.  Guess it pays to do what you have to do in a sleazy way.    The deposition is lengthy but worth the read, here is the link:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B58nQYNsVgwwY0oyTlJNWW9uVUk/view?usp=sharing

Let's also not forget the supposed error from the last campaign on money she took from a convicted lawyer which she later changed almost a year after it should have been done.
Read all about it:

Here we have Jackson photo op but doesn't support LGBT students even with a transgender family member.

We also have Norm Robbins refusing to put agenda items basically using his power to do what he wants without any accountability to district/state policies.  He says that there is no bullying occurring and that he doesn't believe retaliation happens.. pfff!!
The bond is a bust but they will tell you what a success it was for them so they can put it on their resume.  They lied to the public.

Then under Needham we have the teacher who had a relationship with a student in front of everybody's face and the teacher left this year.. after how long.  The evidence was there and nothing was investigated.

So while this wrangling continues our students suffer, Sorum and Company get to do what they want with teachers, bullying is not resolved and so on.  If we all want more of the same then we allow the same people to get elected over and over but if you want something different, go out and get your voice heard.  CHANGE IS NEEDED NOW!

SO are you better off?

  1. Spread the word! Time to clean up FWISD starting with Tobi Jackson. If Eastern Hills is good enough for your children, why not hers?

Corre la voz! Es hora de limpiar FWISD comenzando con Tobi Jackson. Si cerros orientales es lo suficientemente bueno para sus hijos, por qué no el suyo?

  3. Why is Eastern Hills or Poly not good enough for her daughter??? Do other board members have their children in FWISD schools? Speaks volumes if they don't!!! PRIVILEGED...and we speak of cultural competency...whatever, only when convenient. Hope next superintendent truly understands that ALL children are to be served.

  4. I absolutely love the by-line: "who only shows up for photo ops". How appropriate!

  5. Some of the people who comment on this blog are so embarrassing to people who actually care about the education of our children. If you care so much about children, quit turning an elected official's innocent child into a political weapon. If you think slinging that kind of mud only gets Ms. Jackson's sorry ass dirty, your wrong and it makes you look like an adolescent brat. You really want to affect change and be different than the system? Quit acting like them. Quit being a hypocrite. I look forward to your premature, emotionally wrought, fallacy riddled defense with bated breath.

  6. Wow. Someone struck a nerve. Truth hurts. Jackson has done nothing but lie and cover up for five years. Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Studying on two hour bus rides to school and calling it "time management" hardly qualify her as a student advocate. And I agree: She represents Eastern Hills but her children go elsewhere. What's wrong with this picture?

  7. I think you're willfully misunderstanding me, but that's allowed and probably encouraged on this board. That being said, i couldn't agree more with your opinion of Trustee Jackson. Miserable advocate, terrible judgement, misplaced intentions. Spread the word on that however you like, use her children as a tool to accomplish this if you wish, but don't expect people to respect you, your cause regardless, or see the nobility of your intentions.

  8. Ok, I am no Jackson fan but like every parent in the FWISD she has the right to transfer her child if she wants or her daughter can apply to one of the Programs of Choice the district has for high school students. In that one respect I believe she has done nothing wrong. If you want to go after her for something outside of her board duties, how about working for Prime Prep, a charter school, while serving on a public school board. That's one that speaks volumes about her character and reasons for being on the board. As for the rest of her time on the board she's been incredibly weak and ineffective for the people she represents. Just like all of the Eastside board members have been.

  9. The problem is, she was elected to REPRESENT Eastern Hills. Not every EHHS parent who wanted to send their child to Paschal was able to do so - much less after having first sent that child to another Program of Choice school. She used her position to get this done. Wise up. Get your facts straight. She has a right to apply "like everyone else" ONLY if she told her constituents that was her intent when she ran for office. Can't explain away her foolish comments about studying on a bus, her meetings with Needham and Price, or her support of selling Farrington Field. I doubt you are the "Fed Up" I usually read here.

  10. Let us not forget our focus here. As a teacher, I believe it was 9 years ago that Sorum stated we would create a curriculum that would help us to be the best district in the state and a curriculum that we would sell to other districts. Any takers? We are the laughing stock. If he is not the next Supt, he will find a way to kiss up to him/her soon enough, and maintain his control.

  11. In defense of childrenJanuary 23, 2015 at 6:16 PM

Criticize Jackson all you want. She and all board members, all elected- are open to it. BUT, her school age child as Fed-Up points out have a right to apply/transfer to any high school they wish.
Is it not hypocritical to champion a blog as a "champion of children" while simultaneously belittling a child and their parents involvement in LGBT issues? I would think it a good thing that FWISD has a school where LGBT children are welcomed and accepted. I would think that's a good choice for parents and children to have. I support that.
What I don't support is ANY LGBT issues being used as ammunition against public officials in regards to their minor children. That applies to local, state and national. Your prejudice is part of the problem. It needs to stop.

    ReplyDelete
  12. You are the same person using different names. Get over it. Jackson used her position to place her child anywhere but EHHS - the school she "represents". That IS a hypocrite. Didn't know about her alleged LGBT child until you said it.

  13. Why do we even have a curriculum department, anyway? I don't know about other subjects, but for Math, the curriculum helpfully directs me to "Teach Origo lesson 8-1" one day and "Teach Origo lesson 8-2" the next. Wow, we need to pay someone more than a teacher makes, just to write that?!?

  14. Tobi Jackson simply does not represent the children, parents, or the best interests of education in this district. She is a politician - more concerned about her career than anything else. Her record and comments speak for themselves. If you have not taken the time to do so, please read the links above and see for yourself. NO ONE is trying to use her family issues in this election but I do believe that she is about to get a taste of the HORROR she has helped put FWISD employees and fellow Board member Ann Sutherland through for the past five years. Ms. Jackson deserves everything that befalls her. Her silence and refusal to represent the needs of children should be enough to unseat her. People in this district simply need to look beyond race and open their eyes. White does not = right anymore than Hispanic, Asia or Black does. She is a fraud who has used her position for personal gain. More than the employees she has helped terrorize (Palazzolo, Chavez, Duran, Salinas, Gonzales, Tennyson, Whitaker and others) just look at what is becoming the crooked Farrington Field deal and the ridiculous claims that the Bond is over budget. We need a clean sweep of this gutless, unethical Board starting with Tobi. And YES, this does NOT include Ann Sutherland - the ONLY person not afraid to stand for CHILDREN.

  15. If you think there will be hell to pay for Jackson, just wait and see what happens if Cecilia Spear or Dansby run. Bedlam!!!

  17. My colleague has worked on the case of that attorney charged by corrupt former DA Joe Shannon. His crime seems to be that his ex-wife was represented by Joe Shannon's spouse, Rebecca Lucas. He was railroaded into a sham indictment. He has been convicted of NOTHING. Shannon's cronies refused to bring that weak case to trial and it's now in Sharen Wilson's hands. Do not accuse someone of being convicted when you have the facts wrong. Any DA can indict a ham sandwich and this weak case is riddled with conflict of interest. Stinks to high heaven.

  18. Spoke to Dansby this week. He is running. Sorum be ready! You lied to Melody and FWISD. Breed should be happy, she will be "on top again," Literally!

    ReplyDelete
  19. My understanding is that the only "involvement" in "LGBT issues" Jackson has had is in trying to keep her child in the "closet" for fear of what coming out would do to her own political career. This is typical Jackson. She was elected to REFORM and CHANGE not bury her head up Needham's backside. Then there is Prime Prep; the Palazzolo, Chavez, Duran, etc. etc, etc, employee cases - all of which she voted in lockstep with Needham and AGAINST Teachers and students; the Nipple Pinching Principal which she did nothing about; the other abusers which were promoted or covered up; and her support of Robbins and his violations of policy and law by refusing to put items on the agenda. Why has she NOT spoken out AGAINST SCA's?

    ReplyDelete
  20. If Dansby truly is running, head for the hills! He has much to explain to the public about Whitaker; Nipple Pincher; Dugan; Palazzolo and the lawsuit; Breed; Ray; Menchaca; raises; Sorum; etc. etc. Maybe we can sell tickets.

  21. In my opinion, the timing of the indictment against Mr. Perez was in part to keep him from testifying about Jackson, Needham and Linebarger in the Palazzolo trial. I wish for everyone's sake he would come forward with what he knows.

  22. I really don't know where your comments are coming from or why... you almost appear to be Jackson herself. If you are so worried about her child being used in the campaign (much the same as she has used and allowed Needham and the Board to used the children of others) you should encourage her to drop from the race now. As an employee I can only say more are going to come forward and it is not going to be pretty for corrupt Ms. Jackson and her friends..

  23. Eyes, yes I'm the person that posts as fed-up all the time and I do know what the policy and procedures are for transfering children. We transfered both my son and daughter to move them to Paschal. As a parent Jackson doesn't have to consult her constituents about where she sends her children. That's her business so long as she follows proper procedure. If you have evidence that she did not, bring it out in the public eye so that the people she represents will have proof that she abused her office. If you don't have any evidence then your just regurgitating what others are saying. I'm not looking for a fight about this. Please read all of what I said and you will see I'm no Jackson fan. I simply want to make sure people understood she has the right to move her children provided she did in proper manner.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Politics = Satan's work! If you betray your own family member what do you expect? If you betray your wife what do you expect? The children of the city of Fort Worth have been betrayed! This chaos will continue unless the roots of corruption are eradicated and burned.

    ReplyDelete
  25. We have seen opinions from both sides of whether someone has a right to move their child or not. The issue here is not whether Ms. Jackson has a right as a parent but more the influence to make it happen. We know our parents do not have the luxury to up and move someone just like that. Many of our students struggle and sometimes a change of venue may make a difference but because they don't cut it they are not given the chance. If things are going so well in the East, why doesn't she go there? wouldn't that be the best way to showcase who you represent to say if they are good enough for my child then they are good enough for yours. But apparently they are not. Recall that most low performing schools are on the East Side, read up on the TEA report. So yes she has the right but give everyone that right and allow everyone. For those that are on her side, give us a study of the make up of all students in Paschal and see how many are from East Side.

  26. You are ABSOLUTELY wrong. As an ELECTED official REPRESENTING a school in her district she DOES have an obligation to the parents and students in her district as it relates to EVERYTHING she does. Sounds like you feel guilty about your situation. You should not - unless as an employee, you received special consideration. You are NOT elected. She is. It PROVES she has no faith in the failing schools she "REPRESENTS" - even though she has done NOTHING to turn them around.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Taxpayer, I'm NOT ABSOLUTELY WRONG about anything. You may not like it but elected officials DO NOT GIVE UP THEIR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS just because they are elected to office. So long as she follows the rules and DOES NOT GET PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT, Jackson can transfer her children anywhere she wants without consulting anybody. So far all I've seen are postings full of conjecture about why and how she transfered her daughter. If ANYONE has proof that Jackson was given special treatment or did not follow the proper procedure, PLEASE let's get it out there so it can be used against her.

  28. OK Tobi. Whatever you say. Sweet dreams! Not only will I not be voting for you, I will be actively campaigning for your opponent(s). And by the way, no real Educator would have such a twisted sense of right and wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I hope they do. Maybe they'll be more brave than you are. I dont know why a person questioning the ethics of using a child as a political weapon equates to being that child's parent or a supporter of that child's parent. I just thought it would be productive for people wanting change in FWISD to act better than the powers that be. You act like disagreeing about political tactics is tantamount to being your enemy. Grow up.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gee where is all your vitriol coming from Taxpayer? Please campaign against Jackson. Please do everything you can to make sure she's not re-elected. She's been a horrible board member that is only the 3rd worst board member on the eastside because of the 2 dinosaurs Moss and Sims.
But here's the thing, I'm just a working joe like most everyone else that write responses, joe being generic not gender specific. I'm not in administration, or on the board, or anyone who has any authority in the FWISD. I'm just someone that has an opinion and I wish you'd respect that even if you disagree. I've never written anything where I've taken the position that I'm absolutely, totally, and completely right and nobody else's opinion matters and I never will so I'd appreciate if you'd back off your anger issues with this and simply disagree.
    Thank you.
