WHAT OUR CHILDREN GET TO EAT WHILE OUR BOARD FEASTS!!

What a disgrace folks..

We can hear administrator at central office telling the schools to teach until the last day.. and make sure our students are taken care of.

We tell our students that school is the safest place and possibly the only meal they may have..

But come on.. can we get something better?  Are federal dollars already gone that they can't get a good meal?  Can we look at the budget again and make sure our students get a sound meal until the very last day?

Yet others are getting raises, our board feasts at each board meeting they have and yet our students get crap.. yes CRAP without using other expletives..

Students at Poly High got this today for lunch..

SO Jackson what part of your promise to better things is this?  Is this what they ate today at Paschal? at Tanglewood?

Here is what they eat!!!

  1. That looks like doo doo in the hood while fat cats downtown give their assistants big raises.

  2. Someone needs to forward this photo to the White House so they can see what the fat cat handlers and their overpaid/bloated bureaucrats on University are feeding our kids. THIS IS WHERE 4.5 million in legal fees would be better spent.

  3. I wouldn't lust too hard for the board's food. Yes, they do feed us and it's definitely better than the food you picture but I wouldn't say we were wasting tax dollars on it. You would't get Jell-o banana pudding at the White House . . .

  4. Well Ann, how about taking some of the 4.6 million designated for legal fees and providing a decent lunch for kids. Are you aware Legal is still refusing to respond to ORR on legal fees? Repeatedly appealing the SAME questions to the A.G. ? Even though they received a decision in March and have still failed to comply and respond? That the March AG decision referenced a previous decision to FWISD made in 2001? Is this a Board decision? What are they hiding? Where is the money they are obviously saving on kid's meals really going?

I'm sorry, but can someone tell me what that is? Also if there was a pic posted for the lunch served at Tanglewood and Paschal, it is not visible. I would like to see that too.

  6. The board is not involved in this. School lunch money is a different fund. I referred this to the proper authority and they are checking.

  7. Ann, thank you for responding and "referring to the proper authority" but I respectfully disagree with you. It IS your responsibility as a Board Member to get be involved, supervise that corrupt and worthless Interim Super the Board appointed, and demand answers especially about what they are feeding children but also about the millions being spent on attorneys. We need answers as to what the hell is going on. How is $$$ being spent and WHY?

  8. I expect to get a response on this today (Thurs)

  9. What is "this" Ann? The food or the fact the board is asking for $4+million for legal fees to an attorney the board does not have a contract with, the board does not know his qualifications to represent at the appeals level, the board is given status reports by Carrillo, equally inexperienced, violations of Open Meetings Acts, withholding Open Records Requests even when AG tells FWISD to release information and the list goes on. Spending more on legal fees than the court awarded is ludicrous. The board can expect to be sued by the taxpayers for lack of fiduciary duty. Legal fees do not pay for education of our students nor reward our teachers. What I am hearing from substitutes and parents is that discipline issues are running wild at every campus....elementary through high school. Teachers are spending the first 15 minutes just getting kids in their seats and quiet before they can begin to teach and students can learn. Yet $4M is going to a lawyer, who had a client hire a hit man to get rid of him? Yes that was wrong. But $4M from FWISD to get bad legal advice, may explain why the man hired the hit man! It's time for TEA to come in to remove this board and administration. If FWISD won't meet their obligations to children, parents and teachers and taxpayers, a higher authority is required to get this district under control. I strongly suggest Ramos, Paz, Avila, Moss, Sims and you have a come to jesus moment on all of the above. It's time to accept Palazzolo settlement and file a grievance against Brandt with the State Bar of Texas.

  10. OK. So do you want to make a difference or just continue whining about how corrupt FWISD is/? We all know how corrupt FWISD is. Palazzolo stood up and fought Needham and her minions in Court. Not every one can do than. Here is something EVERYONE can do. Go to the White House webpage and file a complaint about the food they are feeding our children while spending millions on insider deals and legal fees. We need to get Michele Obama's attention. Maybe then the Department of Justice will come in.

  11. To say that the children are running wild is an understatement. We have kids swearing at assistant principals without any consequences. None , nada, zip, zero. The review 360's are ridiculous and a complete waste of time because the administrators simply delete them if they don't want to work them. Admin keeps blaming Eric Holder for all of this but it goes much deeper than that. Students are threatening teachers and when they are taken for a 3rd party hearing sent right back. It's only when a teacher is actually hurt that the student is removed. This district , as far as discipline goes, is quickly turning into the Blackboard Jungle. What will happen when one of these kids seriously hurts or even kills a teacher or staff member and it comes out that the district knew how dangerous that kid was and left them in a regular school setting. How much money will that cost and worse how much pain and suffering will that family go through.

  12. Of course this is our responsibility . . . I should have answered more carefully. This lunch was not part of the planned menus (as one might suspect). I think the year-end is more difficult than when they know they will be serving for future weeks. Here is the explanation from the director of cafeteria operations:

"The lunch entrée was served to about 30 students when the cafeteria ran out of tortilla chips. The cafeteria manager hastily decided to use an alternate type of chip. This was not an approved entrée and has been addressed with the cafeteria manager."

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  13. Thank you for being the ONLY Board Member to ask.

  14. I have six months' data regarding office referrals from Paschal and have been hoping to find time to analyze it and make recommendations. I chose P because it is theoretically our "best" high school.
