WHO WILL HELP OUR LEARNING NETWORK STAFF? TOLD TO REAPPLY FOR THEIR JOBS

On Friday, Sherry Breed and company informed learning network specialists that they would have to reapply for jobs as they were restructuring.  Staff were told that they had to make up their mind by 8 AM on Monday.

So many questions but this doesn't surprise us because this is how they treat employees.  There are 30 that are needed for the PD department under Jerry Moore and the rest are going to needy schools or so they say.

Questions:

So if they are restructuring, are they being asked to go to needy schools or being forced?
If they are learning network specialists and must go back as teachers, will they keep their salary?  This sounds more like a demotion and more precisely a desperate attempt due to scores on STAAR and any other area.  So now you force people to go where they don't want to go and keep others from growing as potential administrators, etc.

What study or research was conducted to justify the moves?  FWISD is used to just throwing people everywhere and expect things to change without truly planning it.  Let's recall the reason for the networks, remember board members how they said this would definitely bring about support for the schools?  What were the results?  Did it work or not?  What happened to setting up systems?

Once again no plan in place and employees are the ones affected.  Why can't we restructure top admin with their big raises, apparently the lower end people get the blame for the state of the district and the top stay where they are or keep moving up.  Why doesn't this make sense.

JACKSON, SUTHERLAND, employees need you, where is UEA?.  Do not approve any additional funds for their crazy mess.  We knew from the beginning of this that it was top heavy.  The sad thing is that the good ones will leave for a place that treats them with dignity and not like a herd of cattle.

  1. Moore and Breed are idiots!!! Both have had legal issues while in FWISD. Moore was arrested for abusing a child by Watagua PD while at Natha Howell. And Breed by Fort Worth PD, because she didn't report abuse! How long will these idiots be allowed to run FWISD? Because they are!

A question raised whether Moore or Mayer would be in charge of the new specialists. So far our sources indicate Moore would be in charge of them. With the restructuring they could have assigned Moore.
The comment form sick and tired is correct. Moore has never proven to have made an impact on any school. He was in FW, left to Crowley and then stated he was asked to come back to FW. Then suddenly he was a director and the rest is history. Administration is full of people who never had an exemplary or high achieving campus but they get to tell people how they need to do it when they don't have an example. Sad.

  3. Outside of the lack of proper notification, it's hard for me to drum up much sympathy for the specialists. The district should have given them more notice because we all know this decision didn't happen over night but that's not how they treat people. All of those that I have had experience with have been incompetent, looking to use the specialists job as a jumping point to something else and with the exception of one a really bad teacher. Even the one good teacher spent most of the day dodging downtown so no one would know where she was and how little of her job she was actually doing. Another didn't do anything except make herself a major pain in the butt. It may be different in other subjects but in mine that's what I've seen.

  4. You are mistaken about Jerry Moore. He was the Woodway principal and while he was there the school functioned beautifully. Four of my grandchildren attended and I was there a great deal. He was promoted to director (a loss for the children) where I believe he also functioned successfully. Then this ridiculous job with Baldridge--don't judge a person by just one job.

  5. The documents are sent in a confidential email (what else is new???) but I will post them Tuesday at SutherlandforSchools.org

  6. How in the heck can an "Interim Superintendent" be authorized to continue to make such sweeping changes to this ISD? She is squandering millions in unannounced promotions and hiring of people with QUESTIONABLE qualifications at best. Massive reorganizations; attempts to re-write policy. Millions upon millions more in ridiculous spending on litigation. What everyone parent and employee needs to understand is that this is all about divide and conquer - smoke and mirrors. We need to stand united behind Ann Sutherland and any other Board convert to demand change. Forget the petty squabbles and backstabbing. THAT is how Needham has been able to continue control and evade even FEDERAL INDICTMENT. None of this should be happening. It is a decision for the new Superintendent. Why in God's name would a person like Breed be in that position? Dugan? Moore? How many others have GED's and are making $60-80,000 per year? When does the madness stop? The Board needs to ACT now to end the reign of Linares. You know Needham and Dickerson and all their buddies leeching off of FWISD are desperate to maintain the status quo - to the point of even bringing MJ back. The Board needs to appoint an OUTSIDE interim Super before this IDIOT destroys what little is left of this ISD.

  7. How ironic is this? The "savings" derived from these "cuts" will just about cover the cost of the recent raises and new hires the Board approved under Queen Linares.

  8. What are you thinkingJune 15, 2015 at 11:22 AM

Ann, I'm sorry but you are missing the big picture! How can we continue paying people like Gomez and Jiminez but turn our backs on these specialists? I don't know how many of them are worthless or useful and allowing a corrupt HCM to decide is POINTLESS!!! Oh let's definitely listen to HCM because they are pillars of integrity!?!?! Are kidding me?!?! The problem is HCM!!! C'mon Ann you're incredibly smart and I fail to see how you can rationalize putting out our specialists without cleaning out HCM.

  9. I'm not that familiar with more but for Gods sake he's got to be better than MAYER!!!?!?
He's such a creep! Not sure what he's done to improve HCM?!?!?

  10. Is Mayer that bad? Can you fill us in, I was under the impression he was a valuable asset in HCM.

  11. Gomez, Jimenez, Monge, Mayer. Anybody see a pattern here?

    ReplyDelete
  12. He is. Just like Monge.

  13. Honestly?? Well, perhaps your question was not sarcastic so please accept my apology in advance if it was sincere. OMG though! Well I suppose a third of what you said is plausible-he's definitely an ASS! Asset?? Not hardly unless you count numerous AP and Principal assignments as "fair and equitable?" And the valuable part?? I suppose for a select few he is "Valuable" I just doubt I would include those in the same sentence as Mayer. You might consider this: HCM ( the whole lot) is responsible for staffing this district. I mean they make the recommendations and then the BOE approves well theoretically anyway so, if you're comfortable with the fact that several of the positions in HCM are grossly under qualified and highly overpaid. (Like Gomez, Jiminez, etc. ) then I guess I see the confusion. To the best of my knowledge ALL HIRES, TRANSFERS, PROMOTIONS, ETC., go to, go through, HCM! Actually, I'd venture to say that a vast majority of this districts corruption can be found in HCM!

  14. RealCoordinator, what's the pattern? Monge and Mayer have degrees, Gomez and Jimenez GEDs so, I think I missed the connection. Other than they are all corrupt! I may be on the fence about Gomez and Jimenez though. I can't fault either for their financial gain as a matter of fact, I do not blame them one bit! I mean both may be horrible people or incredibly likeable! It's the complacency of the people in charge that angers me! The ones who ARE educated yet are allowed to make these decisions and one could argue that they are even empowered to do so! I mean I doubt that there are just 2 cases like these! The true travesty is that once aware or always aware, it's now public knowledge and are elected YES elected officials (BOE) do nothing to RIGHT one HELL of a WRONG! So now we have some deflecting going on with Breed and these coordinators so to take the spotlight off of these GED employees who make more THAN A TEACHER WITH 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE & A PHD, we will focus on this!

  15. I don't think people should be repeatedly trashed in print for errors made years ago. There are plenty of current problems that need addressing. I think the degrading of job classifications for coordinators is a real killer for many people. It implies that education is worthless and that's our business. Yet there has never been a discussion of this at the board level.

  16. Time for a discussionJune 16, 2015 at 7:58 AM

I hope that there will be some discussion of this now. Clearly this cannot continue to be overlooked. Since fiscal responsibility is a large part of the BOE's job, I believe that it is reckless to NOT have a conversation about this! Regardless of ANYONE'S political views, etc. it will be impossible to find anyone on this planet that would support such a gross disparity of pay within our educational community. Most everyone will agree that historically teachers do not make a high salary however, those with no REAL contribution to education should not be allowed to PROFIT when teachers do not. There WILL be a RECKONING and I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE ON THE WRONG SIDE of RIGHT on this one. It potentially could be the end of someone's career not to mention any shred of reputation. And let's face it, who could possibly safe face on this?!?!

  17. I don't know anything about Jerry Moore, Breed, Ramos, Dugan, Sabotin, Mendoza, Perry, Oliver, the Nipple Pinching Principal (the list goes on and on) except for what was brought to light in the past five years by first Betty Brink and now CIA. I can't imagine having to sit in meetings with the hypocrites you have to - two of whom were actually indicted and only escaped by turning witness against their accomplices. Yep. You know where I'm going with this..... How does all of this stack up to the MILLIONS FWISD continues to spend on Palazzolo? The Board insisted on a trial. The Jury heard ALL of the so-called evidence and spoke. Why is the Board allowing this to continue?

    ReplyDelete
  18. It comes down to votes--and the fact that the only ones allowed to advise us are being paid big bucks. We have another meeting Tuesday, again behind closed doors. I will not be leaving.

  19. Most of the Public has no clue as to the record of Needham and Sims. Nor do most probably know that Ramos is morally bankrupt or that Avilla and Robbins are likewise ethically challenged (most are learning that Paz is the village idiot who says what she is told). So aside from the Public being in the dark as to the character of these individuals, should these people even be involved in deciding the fate of employees let alone finances?

  20. Why is it so hard for the board to accept that they lost? The case went to trial, the district lost. Pay the guy. Not only pay him, write him a letter of recommendation so he can find a job somewhere else and everyone goes their seperate ways. Paying 4 million in legal costs for appeals to avoid paying 2.5 million? No wonder this district is in the red. On a side note, don't leave that meeting Ann and stand your ground. You're the only one on that board with integrity and common sense.

Stand your ground!.. You are an elected official of the people. They are trying to bury the bodies.. don't let them. Call the attorney general if you have to, let us know how President Ramos behaves as he is on a mission to make things better.

  22. Some of your learning network specialists had barely 3 years classroom experience. People scramble to get up and out of the classroom and straight to admin...wonder why. Lol.
