Sutherland has reported on her blog that the board agenda includes an item for Byrne, a firm headed by Avila up for a contract.
It seems cronyism is alive and well and we knew this would happen. It's not secret and it doesn't seem to bother anyone. So now the games begin on who will be making money from our district.
Wouldn't surprise us if he votes for it but even then he has the votes to get it approved from the Mafia Gang.
Will Ramos and Paz go along with it?
We shall see.
CORRUPTION ALIVE AND WELL IN FWISD
Sutherland is a bit@@ who shouldn't be giving out the info she is! Why in the hell was she re-elected?
ReplyDeleteDo you not believe in transparency?
ReplyDeleteThank you Dr. Sutherland for giving us the information which should be no secret as it is part of the agenda. So from all indications this deal was stamped and approved by our elected body and I am sure by the attorneys who are being paid by the district so why would they say anything different. So they find nothing unethical, they have completely gone mad. Do they remember the Linebarger deal? Why is it different now? From that deal we knew Needham and others met with the company prior to the vote. But this backdoor deal is in front of our faces, no denial and yet it's ok. So Tocco is being resurrected from the dead and is now advising because there is no other reason why this would be appropriate, no matter how you put it. So the Avila Company can do the job, that's not the issue, it's how he has the inside information on how the district runs. But all of this is no surprise, we have the city getting lots of money through attendance, we have student organizations from board member loyalists profitting, and so on. Once again will anyone stand up?
ReplyDeleteBecause the teachers (You know the ones in the trenches you twit!) actually got to vote! Boo Hoo! Sometimes enough voters get it right and this was one of those times! So, what's got you so upset? Ann exposing the truth or that you can't save face? Honestly, you sound like this washed up, forgotten AP who said that Ann was "Nobody important!" Well, thank God there's more of us who know otherwise! Keep revealing the truth Ann!
ReplyDeleteOh so you think that Bryne just have the best bid, with no inside information of the other bids? Seriously, Mr. Avila you don't really think that we are all so ignorant? I do thank you for openly admitting your connection to the company! Perhaps you are not as smart as you think however, I'm sure that you have covered your tracks quite well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a blatant misuse of power! Gee, I wonder who wrote the FWISD Legal Policy? If anyone thinks that BOE members want to become Trustees to help our students and employees, lives under a rock! Sure Avila, you will recuse yourself from discussion and voting, because you already sold your soul to the 7th St gang to vote to accept the contract!!! You must think that you legal mumbo jumbo on here is the end all be all, but those of us who know about the corruption, know this is the reason you and others on the board get richer quicker. Most all Trustees have a piece of the corrupted pie at one time or another, and you, Avila, are no different! The only exception to this is malfiance is Ann! That's why you all hate her, because she's not like you leeches of power and greed. This district won't change, because it is the norm of many Districts in our country...in our state! You all are shameless! Millions of dollars spent on litigation alone that's not even your money! You all don't give a damn about students or employees like you do about your personal agendas. So please, Avila, save your bullshit for people who give a damn, like your 7th St gang members. Thank you Ann! Even if the FBI doesn't swoop in on this District, you can at least be a thorn in their ass for 4 more years!
ReplyDeleteCIA I just posted my comment, it was there I saw it. Now it's gone!
ReplyDeleteIf you truly understood and cared even a little bit about the public's concern you would and will not in the future bid on any work with FWISD. However with the way you as a board member along with most of the rest of the board conducs the districts business, it's no wonder you would believe it is perfectly ok for your company to bid and accept work for a district that you are now intimately familiar with. Make no mistake no one has forgotten how you came to represent your district. You do not have a mandate from the people and this is the type of behavior that will insure you never have one.
ReplyDeletePost it again and see if it stays up.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will.
No this has not yet been voted on. It is on the posted agenda so that a vote can be taken on Tuesday May 26.
ReplyDeleteLet me check on it
ReplyDeletePlease vote no. No matter how it may seem all has been covered it is unethical in many ways. To take those measures tells you he knew it was an issue. But greed wins
ReplyDeleteThis is for Justice. A few days ago I saw you post on another topic on this site but then it was gone.
ReplyDeletecan you tell me what posting or comment made? most comments can be flagged then we can bring them back.
ReplyDeleteThe comment from the piece on Big Raises by Well... That was in response to a comment by Justice. Then the comment was gone. Not sure about today's though.
ReplyDeleteThis is the typical double talk and B.S we came to expect from Dickerson and crew. Why Bill Koehler got a contract; why MJ wound up at TCU instead of California as she claimed. Do the ethical thing and withdraw your company's "bid" or resign. This is just plain wrong. Then again, you are in good company with Needham, Sims and Moss. They too have "experience" in Bond manipulation.
ReplyDeleteAnn is the ONLY Board Member doing the RIGHT thing. We have a RIGHT to know. This is yet another despicable display of manipulation and corruption. Were it not for the teachers and employees who live in D6, we would have Speer to deal with.
ReplyDeleteAfter the continuing events of the past five years, from endless retaliation against Palazzolo and others to Avilla's pending contract, NO ONE can deny Ray Dickerson and his cronies have driven FWISD into the ground for their own personal gain. Tax dollars are squandered for the benefit of insiders like Avilla. They no longer even try to hide it. FWISD is about greed not educating children. Here is the link to someone who might help. If you watched "The Cartel" I urge you to follow this link and write, e-mail or twitter Bob Bowdon at Choice Media and ask him for help exposing the corruption here. The more people who contact him, the more likely we will FINALLY get someone in here to expose and clean this mess up. Ann, I would strongly urge you and any other closeted Board Member who disagrees with what is happening, to also write. We can make a difference. It starts here. They control the Startlegram and silenced the Weekly. Maybe if we shout loud enough, the Basses will hear us! Dickerson and Needham have to be stopped.

Only washed up, forgotten AP I have heard of is Palazzolo. Oh that's right, he is no longer an AP.
ReplyDeleteJoin his group. Report what is going on in your school, department, District. Millions thrown away in litigation, useless promotions, Bond "shortfalls"; sweetheart consulting and construction contracts. Here is his Facebook page:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/132065962639/
That's because FWISD promotes and protects nipple-pinchers, Principals who father children by their students, AP's and Central office Staff who sexually harass teachers and subordinates, and Board Members who award themselves and fellow Board members contracts with the very ISD they are charged to run. We know where your head is.
ReplyDeleteWe are not alone people!!! Report these corrupt bastards!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.yankeeinstitute.org/files/pdf/Fusco%20Study.pdf
I hardly think he is forgotten. When FWISD is forced to publicly report just how much they really spent on the five year long witch hunt, the Public will always remember that Palazzolo = retaliation by a corrupt and failing ISD whose Board awards contracts to it's own members.
ReplyDeleteFunny, all these comments, yet you still accept your paychecks from FWISD! Hypocrites! Horrible! Hope you don't teach my kids!
ReplyDeleteRight! Grow a conscience! You obviously have NO moral compass. Who is the hypocrite? How many "deals" have been steered his way in return for "friendly" votes on matters before this Board? You greedy people are destroying education the way you destroyed our country.
ReplyDeleteIF I teach your child, THEY will thank me in the future for having set a far better ethical example for them then you, this School Board, or Administration. This is wrong.
ReplyDeleteProof the Feds will come in as in El Paso, Beaumont and Atlanta. Read the following and then substitute the names: Avilla, Byrne, Linares, Needham...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-cps-federal-inquiry-met-20150415-story.html
One of mine was removed also last week; it was supportive of the CIA work
ReplyDeleteMr. Avila, you can file all legal paperwork you need to pursue. It does not belie the perception of greed. Have you heard "perception is reality"? Regardless of the percentage of the company you own, no one in your family is doing you or this district any favors in pursuing a financial arrangement with FWISD. You're a disappointment to your community. I urge you to consult your priest or clergy before stepping off into this suspect arrangement.
ReplyDeleteI hope those who've written here will show up to board meeting. Someone needs to address this matter publicly. Of course due to the restrictions on free speech, be certain to make a statement versus a question. Was it Dickerson who made up the rules about "No Questions Allowed" only Statements?.
ReplyDeleteTo the clueless parent, You really as ignorant as can be if you think that teachers have one thing to do with this! I'm a teacher and cannot get my students what they need EVER! I get students 2 & 3 years below grade level and then I'm expected to perform miracles! This back door bullshit of inflated salaries and corruption has zero to do with teachers! Try and remember WE ARE THE EDUCATED ONES! We got our positions based on merit not on who we know. Perhaps we can place YOUR child with an administrator if that makes you feel better! LMFAO!
ReplyDeleteBetween this scam and the unannounced promotions and new hire, Palazzolo's attorneys are going to have a field day. Nepotism at its finest. Did anyone remember not only was Washington a failure as Principal, her husband is one as well - and no better. I'm hoping someone will file a civil rights complaint or lawsuit over this.
ReplyDeleteWhen is Mr. Avila's term up?
ReplyDeleteTwo years.
ReplyDeleteThe best solution for us is to get him replaced! Let's begin looking now and get his sorry ass OUT! Shouldn't be too hard! Hispanic or not he's a piece of crap and he gives his people BAD representation! Teachers spoke up for Ann and we can do the same to get his sorry behind out! His earlier statement admitting his involvement with a company (his) profiting off our students, that's all the public needs! I know that I'm not alone in believing that NO PROFIT from our children will be TOLERATED! His father's company should not have even considered any jobs from our district! Period, it's unethical and down right disgusting! I challenge anyone to defend what this is!?!?! No way would a person truly here to help students would consider this! Go ahead supporters of Avila, rationalize this and do not forget to include your name!!!!! Nobody with self-respect would dare! Even if he can side-step the legal aspect, it's unethical PERIOD!
ReplyDeletePlenty of time to start vetting a viable replacement! Sadly, plenty of time for more damage too!
ReplyDeleteYou maybe remember from the Palazzolo trial - that is exactly how Barbara Williams got Linebarger the FWISD contract: Needham brought the competing bid over with a bottle of wine and together they crafted Linebarger's winning bid. What was Needham's payoff? Linebarger agreed to go after Palazzolo. All of this now going on under the unethical incompetent Norm Robbins. Tell us Norm, is this how Lockheed does things?
ReplyDeleteIn the Bond taxpayers voted to build a new STEM and Performing/Visual Arts Academy in the Cultural District - specifically Farrington Field. Then the insider deals started and the Board voted to move the Academy to the historically low performing Terrell School so they can sell the Farrington Field property to one of their buddies. You remember, that was the vote where TObi Jackson said two hour bus rides were a great chance for youngsters to study and practice time management. Is it true a new soup kitchen/homeless shelter is being built right next door? Parents, ya'll gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteAlong with Robbins, Sims, Paz and Ramos. Robbins and Sims are lost causes. I'm still holding out that the fact that Paz and Ramos are parents will be a stronger motivation than Ray Dickerson's money and threats. That logic obviously does not work for someone like Jackson but............
ReplyDeleteI'm am closely familiar with the Palazzolo case and the subsequent rabbit trail regarding Linebarger. The claim above is not accurate it should be stated. The timeline is way off. Sealed bids on that contract were due many weeks before. Moreover, it makes no sense. The board members who supported Linegarger's bid such as Sutherland, Rangel, and Vasquez sought settlement on Palazzolo in opposition to Needham.. Needham joined on the Linebarger vote only once it was apparent there were five votes to end the crony contract with the previous firm..
ReplyDeleteYes Linda, he talks to Dr Mossige and Dr Sorum daily.
ReplyDeleteSurely Linda you do know that won't ever happen! Not that teachers and others in this district want to expose this crap but, it's professional suicide! Make no mistake, they retaliate and to date there's nobody holding them accountable! Some of us are praying the Palazollo case will finally get settled as it should be! Once it is then perhaps we have a precedent at least. As long as these corrupt jerks are allowed to operate with impunity, no one dare speak up in public. Sure, they aren't allowed to retaliate but it seems next to impossible to prove it when they do.
ReplyDeleteYou may be familiar but you do not know the facts as presented and PROVEN at the trial. The timeline IS NOT way off. Needham desperately tried to cancel the contract to cover her tracks. Once cancelled, Needham and Jackson met with Williams and Price at Michael's Restaurant to ensure the contract would be re-awarded. All smoke and mirrors. Check out the depositions of Needham and Jackson or the testimony. Nice try "Coordinator" but you are as crooked as they are.
ReplyDeleteJust heard about your comment. You are dead wrong. Nice try rewriting history. Info's rendition of events is accurate.
ReplyDeleteWow. And to think we never understood as children what "false idols" were. Until now. The ultimate "dynamic duo" of incompetence.
ReplyDeleteMr. Avilla, I was just watching the History Channel and heard Bill Paxton recite perhaps Sam Houston's most notable quote: "Do right and risk the consequences". If ever that applied to anyone in FWISD, it seems to me it applies to Palazzolo. How easy it would have been for him to turn the typical blind eye to what Needham was doing at AHHS and just go on his merry way. Maybe you should take a cue from him and do the right thing for a change. He risked his livelihood and career - all you have to risk is ill-gotten $$$$ - just to be one of the boys.
ReplyDeleteOkay can somebody PLEASE explain to me WHY Mr. Joe Dugan gets to vacation in Cancun while on FWISD time? Ugh! It's maddening the level of complacency that goes on! This pedophile fathers a child with a child (a student) and gets a promotion and adding insult he posts his travel escapades on Facebook! In case you're in doubt May 4th is still a regular calendar day! Hope you enjoyed your massage you creep!!!! Wonder how this sicko would feel if his own daughter has an affair at 16 with a grown ass man! If he's got a problem with it, perhaps he shouldn't have done it himself. One day your daughter will be old enough to do the math; I wonder what you will tell her?
ReplyDeleteOne need only look at the puppets on this Board for the answer: unethical, gutless, patronizing and retaliatory. Led by their interim Super and her cronies. Wake up parents!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not only your $$$ they are squandering, it is the lives and future of your children.
I hear you loud and clear. However, if teachers cannot show up, do you have at least one friend or neighbor you can ask to attend the meeting? There has to be some "civil disobedience" to demonstrate this community cares about the education their kids are receiving due to central administration's ignorance and brutality towards staff and students. There is safety in numbers. If every teacher who posts here and/or is fed up with central administration showed up, the board and administration would be hard pressed to retaliate against everyone who is exercising their civil rights. How long did the Viet Nam war go on before people took to the streets? How long did the Regan administration ignore AIDS before people fought back? There is a national movement to take back our schools. If we're going to take back FWISD there must be a serious and large push back by teachers, students, parents and taxpayers and the media must be included to get the message out. We aren't going to get FWST to print the truth but TV stations always need footage to fill the airwaves. JP case will make a difference but changing this district cannot be put on his back to bring about the change/s everyone is wanting and demanding. Whether you like it or not, this is combat. You're either in the fight or you're not.
ReplyDeleteOn FWISD time! Go ahead explain this one!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at Needham et al campaign financial reports. How many years Linebarger and other usual suspects contributed $l,000 and more to campaigns to re-elect board members? Quid pro quo.
ReplyDeleteHow many supporters might he have? I remind you he did not have to run for his seat as the other candidates dropped out, for what reason, we do not know.
ReplyDelete*Not
ReplyDeletehistorically low performing. IMT has a high mobility rate. Most students move at the end of the year. Most of IMT's students are econ disadvantaged - notall.
Union Gospel Mission is South of 30 - IMT is North of 30.
Education and upward mobility go hand in hand. Embrace upward mobility but criticize the exclusion of Farrington as the location. The board’s decision was
based on money.
