It's time to exercise your voice to put new people on the board and keep Dr. Sutherland on it to make a strong coalition. We can't keep complaining here if we are not going to go vote. Early voting is on now visit websites of candidates to find out where. We know where Tobi, Needham, Cole and Speer stand..
We won't get another shot for four years... we know we can't take four more of the same corruption, bullying and so on....
Both Linda and Ann testified at the Palazzolo trial. You can read their testimony in the previous story on this BLOG. Compare their testimony to that of Needham, Ray, or that boob Robbins and you would NEVER guess they were describing the same FWISD. It is time to step up Teachers, Employees, Parents and anyone who cares about children. Call everyone you know. We MUST vote Needham and Jackson OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouragement as I continue to make final push with voters to vote in this important local election for both water board and school board. My son served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala the first year after the war ended there. He trained farmers how to farm using no pesticides traveling over the country and learning Spanish and the language of the indigenous people with his last assignment being San Mateo. My daughter in law worked for the non-governmental agency, Clean Water Action. They educated me on the importance of environmental concerns but particularly protecting groundwater issues as we continue to deplete our acquafers (sp). They are now 40 and raising socially conscious children. FWISD needs programs to inspire our children to realize their dreams and to be good public servants as they succeed in life. I am equally proud of my daughters. Stephanie, a paralegal and graduate of TCC and Chloe currently a teaching student. All students of the schools in District 5 public schools. In fact Matt was offered a full scholarship to Country Day School but turned it down preferring to remain in FWISD. My children bring me pride but I take little credit for the adults they have become. I credit their own drive and determination...something they got from the teachers they had from elementary school onward. If we think back each of us can recall the teacher who made a difference in our lives. So I am honored to receive your confidence and support. I have to believe this is the year all of us can make a difference for the children and parents in FWISD.. It will take board teamwork and oversight of the administration plus hiring a Superintendent with a backbone to re-organize central administration and conscience fiduciary duty to taxpayer money. This will not be easy going forward but I look forward with hope that with the right team at the right time we can deliver for our children and parents in FWISD.
ReplyDeleteThe question is simple: Are we as parents and voters going to continue to sit back and let Needham, Dickerson and big white money (and their lackeys of all races) - whose children do not even go to our schools anymore - buy yet another election in order to continue sucking big tax dollars to line their own pockets? If you CARE about KIDS you HAVE to vote Needham and Jackson OUT. Black, White, Brown, Tan, get out and vote. Call your friends - call your neighbors. DONT let big white money buy another election. FWISD will not survive another 4 years of these corrupt, lying, fools.
ReplyDeleteI was reading the campaign finance reports that were due by law on May 1. Where is Joel's? Did he miss the deadline? And can someone tell me why he is campaigning as Joel Aguliar when all his filing paperwork says his name is Joel Aguliar Villaneuva? I'm confused. Is anyone else? Also, maybe LaBeau can explain her filings. Looks like she has missed the deadline as well? Maybe I'm missing something.
ReplyDeleteCause they are both idiots, liars, and soon to be losers. And I am not a former board member, or employee, but do love in FWISD!
ReplyDeleteI meant live. Autocorrect
ReplyDeleteNot everyone goes by their given name.. Not against the law... But I am couriuos how one can give money to Needham for her campaign and then she turns around with same donated money and donates to Speer and Jackson campaign.. If I was the donator I would be mad...
ReplyDeleteOne more thing..why is it ok to call people names? You do not have to like the person but it is never ok to call names...that is what wrong with people these days using the Internet they think it gives them the right to type anything they want... Would you stand in their face and say the same thing? I don't think so...I would had hoped your parents taught you about a little word called " respectful "
ReplyDeleteRight! I've read your former posts. My parents did teach me the term "hypocrite!" Please retire. Hope you don't teach my children.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone goes by their given name? First name, maybe, because a lot of people go by nicknames or childhood names such as Dub, Dutch, ReRe, whatever, but not using your legal last name when running for office? Am I the only one who thinks this brings up issues of transparency and trust? No, I'm not, because some co-workers have wondered about the same thing. This leads to speculation, like I am now doing. Why would someone not use their legal last name? I'm guessing there may be a more plausible explanation.
ReplyDeleteI Agree that's why we need Federal Probe into what they are doing
ReplyDeleteFwisd has a D grade rating in the State, mainly in the African American commcommunity's!! Tell how you going to FIX IT!!! What are the doing with the Gas Money!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you asked Mr. Aguilar?
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask. Yes, a long time ago. No response. So what does that tell you? Still wondering if anyone knows about campaign finance filings for Joel and Linda and why they aren't online. Interesting to see that some donors just contribute to all the candidates or most of them. I guess that is called covering your bases.
ReplyDeleteI will be at the Como Neighborhood Association meeting May 7. What I can tell you -- I reviewed Como Elementary School statistics. Essentially, what I found was students were being socially promoted by one person from FWISD when the state law requires a team comprised of a parent, teacher and administrator to review student performance against acquiring basic knowledge and skills. When this was brought to the attention of central administration, there was no acceptable explanation. If elected, Como Elementary will be part of my District 5 schools. Be assured I will do all in my power to change this policy. To your second question regarding the "Gas Money", I do not have that information at this time. I hope to see you at the meeting on Thursday night.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how the hits from the other camps keep coming at the very end of this election. Nothing was ever raised about either candidates and names used. If there was an issue the election officer would of raised the issue and the candidates could have been disqualified. As noted in other camps, mudslinging is the tactic to confuse voters. Call them or write to them. Let them speak for themselves. As far as donations, Tobi Jackson is funded by Linebarger and company which is a big conflict of interest but yet the same people smearing on here don't say much about it. If you are going to call people out, do it to all.
ReplyDeleteOk I did what think was the most simplest of things..I ask Mr. Aguilar, and below was his response:
ReplyDeleteIn the application, you put your legal name and then it asks you how you want your name included in the ballot. We can choose how we want our name to appear. It's nothing new, you can check other names, for example Mr. Ramos used Jacinto "cinto" Ramos even if that's not his full legal name. I believe Tobi has a middle name but only goes as Tobi Jackson.
I guess you should read your own blog...Feb. 21. This isn't a new question. It's just never been answered. It jumped out at me when I was looking for the campaign finance info for each candidate. The answer that just let me retire gives is hogwash. I DID previously ask him via his FB and got no answer, and the question was quickly deleted. Is this name changing an Hispanic thing?
ReplyDeleteCall this a little cultural education to the obviously racist, white, Needham/Jackson/Speer supporting morons above. No, I am not Hispanic; not African-American; not Asian, I'm of European descent. Three of four grandparents were immigrants. All spoke a foreign language. My parents were part of the greatest generation and every male relative I ever knew served in the military. I have been all around the world myself. One thing I learned, be careful in your criticism as you are bound to expose your ignorance. In most Latin cultures, hyphenated names are the opposite in meaning of Anglo names. In English, the first name is the mother's name or maiden name and the second is the family or married name. In Spanish it is the opposite. The first name is the family or maiden name and the second name is the mother's name or maiden name. If I am correct, then Joel is using his correct name: Aguilar. He is not required by any measure to use Villaneuva.
ReplyDeleteSee my comment to your ignorance below please. Educate yourself before speaking.
ReplyDeleteSo using this logic, I could turn in an application as Mary Smith and say I want my name listed as Nolan Ryan on the ballot. I am really asking about the last name, not middle name. Perhaps he wanted to be listed first on the ballot?
ReplyDeleteSo is Ann!! Look at her March filing and you will see a contribution from Linebarger. Using your Logic, Ann also has a big conflict of interest. Don't criticize one and not the other.
ReplyDeleteLatinos from other countries use both their parents names. Also some women who marry a latino or for that matter even non-latino hyphenate their husband's last name. So he is using both his parents last names and decide to use Aguilar. The ballot order is done by lottery so hence he is last on the ballot regardless if A is his last name on the ballot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information. Dr. Sutherland, will you return the funds given to you by them? Don't be tainted by groups that have hurt our district.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Joel couldn't have clarified things himself in the very beginning for those of us who unlike you are a part of the Great Culturally Unwashed. I guess I'll just never appreciate why a candidate would file under one "legal" last name and campaign under another. It is also not racist to ask. Whatever, I will just walk away from this topic since the Joel apologizers on here aren't going to give up.
ReplyDeleteThank you, did not know the order was done by lottery.
ReplyDeleteThe question never came up on any blog regarding his name. Tobi's name is Tobi Lynne Jackson. Why didn't she use her legal name fully if that's what we are going with. Why didn't anyone file a complaint of this to the proper authorities to let them decide. How to the FWISD site and check out each candidates application. This is not about who supports or what.. let's get the information correctly.
ReplyDeleteGo to FWISD site and check out the applications and tell us who filed their full name on the ballot.
ReplyDeleteThis question has been answered is several different ways, so let's try this one. The the Hispanic culture the fathers last name is listed first "Aguilar" and the mothers last name isn't listed last " Garcia " (I am unsure of Mr. Aguilar second last name so I am using Garcia as an example) most only use the fathers last name and not both but they are both listed on the birth certificate. The election officials made the rules not anyone person is just making stuff up off their head..
ReplyDeleteAdmit it: You are just plain ignorant and can't handle being wrong about your criticism. Aside from your pettiness - issues alone, Jackson must go. In my opinion, every candidate should return the $$$ from Babs Williams and Linebarger. They should be investigated by the Feds.
ReplyDeleteDid we hurt yo po little feelings? F*** Off! How's that?
ReplyDeleteIf everyone keeps deleting their comments on this thread, mine may be the only ones left. Now I have several responses that are left hanging. Why is everyone running off?
ReplyDeleteCrickets. You knew the answer to your question before you even asked it. Where is your criticism now? You want to have your cake and eat it too.
