Oh how the gods seem to be looking down..
Let's recall the facts folks about how all of this started... in the secret board room behind closed doors.
Deals were made to benefit some board members and their connections on the backs of students.
http://ciafwisd.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-bond-that-binds.html
Now AECOM has not done the job it promised and costs have risen that some projects are in danger of not happening. When the district decided to choose AECOM we were against it because of the lousy jobs they have done before. The biggest issue was Dansby and his dealings, big conflict of interest. So now Mighty Dansby has left the district dealing with issues.... What we still don't get is how shortage of labor continues to be a reason that costs are high. Perhaps someone can enlighten us on this because I can find plenty of workers in corners willing to work. How about the homeless people who do want to work, go on over to Lancaster.

So now we are left with a mess that was created by rushing the bond because the mighty Dansby needed something to say he did it. Funny how when it was done for him he managed it and then he tried to put it together and he failed at it. But politics all the way because everyone wanted something and now disparity and inequality. So much talk about doing for children it was about individuals and some who took it and sold it on their website as the best thing since sliced bread. Others took more photo ops and yet we don't hear them explaining to the public. You ALL voted for it and then sold it as great to the public and now where is the mea culpa.
TELLING THE BOARD HOW IT IS!
PROFESSOR ACCOUNTABILITY
So finally figure out that you need oversight is it?
NEEDHAM MAD!!
So how much money did Needham loose in this deal or how many friends are mad at her?
Watch out! Avilla FINALLY woke up and is STARTING to get
ReplyDeleteconcerned. Oh my! Where in the hell has this guy been? How many thousands did AECOM contribute to the Bond effort or Board Member election campaigns? I am still in construction; have been involved in construction for 30 years. Taxpayers, you need a new School Board and a new contractor. These videos are laughable – from Avilla trying to “fly” to Jackson’s head bobbing back and forth – obviously startled at the daylight with her head finally out of Needham’s backside! This project never was competitively bid – THAT was the problem. Judy Needham and crew (Robbins, Jackson, - even Dansby) all rammed AECOM down the throats of others. With Dansby (no stranger to contract manipulation and public deception) gone, this is NEEDHAM’S problem. You need to terminate the services of AECOM immediately and hold them responsible for completion of the projects as outlined in their contract. It called a COMPLETION BOND. If this Board did not require one, they should go to jail. Then you had better PRAY the scope of the AECOM contract is consistent with what YOU (the Board) sold the public. Frankly I doubt it is. It is no secret in FWISD or construction circles that AECOM’s previous performance (which Needham continues to rave about and what Dansby supposedly built a “reputation” upon) is all smoke and mirrors. To come in on time and in budget, Dansby immediately went campus to campus cutting corners on dozens of specifications. Bond corruption in FWISD is
a way of life. It has become an art form. Greed makes you sloppy. Want to solve this immediately? Demand the resignations of Needham, Robbins and Jackson and re-bid the Bond contract from where it is to completion. THERE ARE PLENTY of construction companies in the Metro-plex, State, and COUNTRY who would jump on this. Wake
up. The Public has been played again. Guess those millions this Board spent in legal fees we’ve all read about, would have come in handy about now.

ReplyDeleteBetter public education!
Finally!! Someone with a firm grasp of economics telling it like it is! This is elementary, people. Wake up and heed the call!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget it was Betsy Price who met with Needham and Jackson with representatives of Linebarger law firm at Michael's restaurant when FWISD was about to award the tax collecting contract.

It's nice to have a contractor speak up and tell the truth about these so called contract over runs. When I read about the so called "outrage" of the board at AECOM I was outraged. Those jackasses selected AECOM,voted on the packages to present, voted to send it to the voters, and have lied about it until now when things have gotten so bad they can't cover it all up anymore. I'm sure others flashed to the movie Casablanca when the actor Claude Rains says he's "shocked, shocked that gambling was going on in here" then he takes his winnings and leaves. These people are such hypocrites. But here's the fly in the ointment. A number of people stood against this bond and pointed out that exactly what is happening would happen but no one would listen. The majority of voters bought into the lies and now we are stuck with it.The kids will never get what was promised nor will the teachers, or the public. Just like with everything else this board has done the kids will suffer and continue to suffer because of the corruption and selfishness of the board. Any other group with even just a little self respect and dedication to the district would resign and crawl into the hole the deserve to live in, forgotten by the public.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there actually a group who organized to speak out against the Bond? Maybe we could contact them and they can take this to the A.G. Needham, Robbins and Jackson have got to go.
ReplyDeleteI thought there was a citizens oversight committee of some sort who supposedly was monitoring the Bond. What happened to them? Where are they? This makes the Needham/Jackson push to sell the valuable Cultural Center site (no doubt to a wealthy Needham crony) and move the children to a far-flung south side site all the more suspicious. Though Needham may have the wool pulled over the eyes of Rainwater, Bass and the others, Jackson has been exposed for what she really is to her constituents. She is a complete sell out who repeatedly has voted AGAINST children and who used her position to place on of her children at Paschal - not the East Side schools she was elected to represent. If she dares run again, all of this must come out. This Bond should be investigated by the A.G. or U.S. Attorney. Robbins, Needham and Jackson should resign. Funny the Star T broke this story.
ReplyDeleteUmmm. The COC (Citizens Oversite Committee) was the group reporting to the board during this meeting. They seem to be bringing some honesty into the mix. Their report spurred the responses from board members.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Didn't listen to the first video.............
ReplyDeleteI do not know who these two individuals are form the Citizens Advisory Committee but - BRAVO! What an excellent job! Now I understand the drama od Needham, Avilla and Jackson. What a joke. I hope the Board heard LOUD and CLEAR that kids - NOT politics - should come first. Did you get that Tobi? No more ignorant comments about two hour bus rides being a matter of "time management" - especially since your own daughter does not even attend the High School you represent. And as for Needham and Jackson, we don't care WHO wants that cultural district property of why - it is for the students! This Board led by dufus Norm Robbins needs a major overhaul. Obvious from his recent "job" Cinto Ramos' silence (and vote) have been bought off. He needs to resign now as well. The three Board Members who will sit in on the CAC meetings should begin with Ann Sutherland and Ashley Paz. The rest of the Board is either too corrupt or senile. They are the reason the Bond is in this mess. Frankly, I support the idea of the A.G. investigating this. Thank you CIA for this story! Guess the Weekly is still off writing about drunken bar fights.
ReplyDeleteWho thought that Ramos was better for our district? This is is to Duh? I'm Not sure what you mean by "Carlos selling his soul to Needham?" I worked for him and maybe I don't know all about his bad decisions but, I know plenty about his good ones! He was the best damn principal I've ever worked for! Everything he did was for our students and he turned our school into a great place of learning. Was he your typical "FWISD" leader, nope. He treated his teachers with respect and if you were a slacker, he told you to step up or get the hell out of his building! Did he piss people off? I'm sure he did but, he made me want to be a better educator and you can't find too many others in our district who do the same! The idiot we have now, omg can't find his ass with both hands and a flashlight! So many good teachers have left and continue to leave in droves with this boob as a principal! So duh, I'm not sure how you thought a freakin probation officer was better suited for our school board, clearly you didn't do your homework! Find me a teacher who says Carlos wasn't an incredible leader in education, my guess is if you do THEY PROBABLY were promoted to administration and they are part of the problem! Ann is right, the good ones are leaving or are forced out by those with deep pockets! I miss Carlos and those who stood up for the BS!
ReplyDeleteCarlos' biggest problem was Dansby. After he and Rangel got Dansby in, Dansby went crazy with Breed and others. With Dansby in, Carlos and Rangel did nothing to help Teachers. Then Needham convinced Carlos to run for higher office. Let's focus on trying to get him back. We have to get rid of Ramos.
ReplyDeleteONLY if he follows thru on cleaning up. Carlos was brilliant defending Palazzolo, Chavez and others but left Gonzales, Salinas, Tennyson and others hanging. As said above, once Dansby got in, he gave up. Carlos also has to acknowledge that getting rid of Monge and Mendoza are absolutes.
