PALAZZOLO SETTLEMENT OFFER SENT TO BOARD AND ADMINISTRATION

More than a year ago, the board should have received a settlement offer prior to the decision for a new trial.  What we gather is that Brandt, the lawyer, doesn't want to be out of a job and so he prolongs this process.  Today the board should have received another offer to either monetarily settle or reinstate Palazzolo to his old job.  

The district has a choice to end this and make a decision to stop wasting taxpayer money.

Will the board do what is right or will Brandt win and get more money.  Remember that the board has to vote to go to trial but as we know they do it all behind closed doors without any accountability to the voters.

Dr. Sutherland, demand to see the settlement and push for it to end.

UTA IS THE NEW TCU: SWEET DEALS UNDER THE TABLE (BARBARA GRIFFITH)

Well can we get someone to check this out at HCM, Dr. Sutherland?

It seems that our hiring practices continue to benefit friends of the administration.  Here we have Kristin Sullivan, the apparent new Executive Director of Collective Impact under Sherry Breed.  It seems that Ms. Sullivan was celebrating her leave from UTA around July 5 or so and the posting for the position came online on July 19th and closes August 2nd.  Unless the job is incorrect, something if fishy.

The other part is that Barbara got her kid a full ride scholarship from UTA and well the picture tells you who may have helped seal the deal.  While the kid may have earned or not, with all the money Barbara makes could she have left the scholarship for someone who does not have the " who you know" privilege?  Of course not, its benefitting the very few.

How many people were interviewed?  Did we miss her at a board meeting?

SCORES? (silent) THE UNFORGOTTEN REASON THE DISTRICT EXISTS

Well while we are going through the diversions of the scandals that plague the district, scores are posted and no public comment from what we hear so far.  So we will comment and look for the district to respond to the dismal results.

*The first thing that caught our eye were the low results of the Dual Language scores.  These were the scores that were supposed to show greater results than any others.  The promises were broken because FWISD has never been able to do it right.  It would be interesting to take out the GT students and Benbrook area, Tanglewood students and see what the data tells you.  The district admin does nothing!

District didn't meet measure in 7th Math, 7th Writing----

We are basically just making the cut even when they lower the standards---sad!

You would think that this would be the biggest concern for the admin and it's not.  They are more interested in their national spotlight than anything else.  Same old stuff!

DII- A WASTE OF FUNDS WITH NO REALISTIC GOALS FOR STUDENT SUPPORT

We saw the cost of training and implementation of this new DII or Direct Instruction something...
It sounded like having coaches before like Reading and Math.  While some have already trained, principals are next and then teachers.  So we were able to obtain some information that principals obtained at training to basically show us that this is a complete joke.  We know we have some bad apples in our profession but this is something that doesn't feel right because of the nature of the expectations that you can read below.  Some of the biggest ones that caught our eyes is the "royalty" treatment that the DII coaches are to receive, the only thing they can do is be a "teacher peer" and help during testing other than that, principal's cannot ask them to do crap.  So we thought that they would help the teacher by at least helping students but they are not to work with children....

So Scribner, the DII coach cannot talk to the principal about the teacher they are helping, they report to the leaders at central, etc. etc.  So if they cannot discuss progress then how can the principal make decisions on anything, basically going blind.  The training is horrible, paying thousands for people to get up and say stuff, you can do that in a video and save money.  We see this as another way for central administration to take control of the campuses and not allow the principals to lead or at least the ones they don't like.

So is this model about improving instruction with strategies and resources or is this basically let me tell you what you are doing wrong and not help improve anything at all.  There is a lot of accommodating for one person when the funds or additional personnel would really help the campuses.  What about a reading interventionist that can pull students who are struggling?  What about true PD that supports teachers based on their need and not some mundane approach that gives you nothing.  Another program that is being pushed on everyone else and money down the drain.... as you read that laugh at the expectations like the evaluation of the DII coach, how can you provide input when you won't be able to share information with each other? Why can't principal's choose the coach?  Working extra time even on Saturdays?  Guess they are milking it with no additional money...

BOARD MEMBERS CAN GIVE THEIR OPINION ABOUT AN EXECUTIVE SESSION MATTER

During the Palazzolo situation, the district has always maintained that Sutherland, for example, could not speak of anything or even give her opinion.  The Open Meetings Act never states nothing about saying you disagree with the agenda item.  You cannot disclose the facts of the matter.  Here is an Attorney General opinion back in the day that discusses the issue of the first amendment and how it violates a board member's right to exercise speech.

Brandt has been lying to the board for years and wants to make sure that he gets his way.  Sutherland, keep on talking, it's your right!

BOARD MEETING REVIEW: INTERESTING!

Here are few snippets of the board meeting this past Tuesday.

Stand Fort Worth is ready to go after Districts 1, 4, 9 and others this next election.  FWISD CIVIL WAR coming!

The student from YWLA discusses Mia Hall and her way of mistreating students and how they had to fight her for their rights.

DII- the presentation seemed like at the 4th grade level, scripted with no substance.  When you can't explain it and have to rely on your script then it tells you that you don't get it.  We know the real sentiment of the people having to go through it and it's not positive.  Another program upon many programs that have come and go.

We shall see how the newbies in Curriculum do, either they stand out or get eaten.  They are outsiders from Spring ISD and Tomball ISD.  Spring ISD is not a progressive district so we shall see how this person does in a district that doesn't progress at all.

Just like this election year, civil war is about to hit FWISD.  You have Stand for Fort Worth ready to battle the board and while we don't like it based on the Transgender issue, the point is they need to go.  But as you can see, Sutherland has summed up how we have felt, that there is NO HOPE FOR CHANGE, can we make it a hashtag?  The district has hit rock bottom if there is such a thing because of the self-interests of the mass and not doing what they are supposed to do.  So much talent has been lost and/or purged for many years and here are the results.  DII is a joke, a service to the good ol boy system among many programs that have come through FWISD.

FWISD SUPER SCRIBNER & BOARD HIDING PEDOPHILES (Matthew Keller) AMID REPORTS FROM STAFF

We try to be surprised at the level of incompetency by our so called leaders who profess support for students and then we find out differently.

Recall the teacher Matthew Keller at Southwest who was found to be texting a 15 year old out of state.  Well a teacher source informed us that Engel knew about this teacher because early in the year it was reported that he was texting about penis sizes and was out for two weeks only to return to campus.  Engel turned a blind eye to the report and was absolutely clueless of what was going to come about recently with the out of state boy.  Keller would give boys rides home, paid for a Disney trip, etc.  Engel's response: I haven't noticed anything in appropriate.  Well hello that's why you look into it when it's reported.

CPS needs to be notified and some agency to come in.  Engel is liable for being indifferent.  Keller could have been stopped sooner.

So OPS investigated and found it to be true, only to return the same teacher to be around children again.  This is nothing new, recall the nipple pincher who was promoted, etc.  

So Scribner what else are you doing to protect children?  Uh, nothing because you are too busy working on your next gig as is the BAM President and rest of the Board.

Dr. Sutherland, we need an independent investigation into this matter.  There are people who are coming out and tired of it.  We, here at the blog, are getting more people to come out with information.  Very sad to hear how much danger is allowed in our schools.  We will protect the teacher from retaliation and harassment by not identifying anything about the teacher.

NEW TRIAL FOR PALAZZOLO CASE ** UPDATE***

Recall when the district said it fired him for lying on his employment application and an apparent record.  Well below is the FBI background done on him which is clear.  Evidence that will be presented at new trial and show district lies.

District Lawyer Brandt, according to the FW Weekly, sent a celebratory letter to the board that they district had won not paying the $2 million award given years back.  What he doesn't mention is that the district won't pay that but is still paying in fees to the lawyers, etc.  It's a good day for him because he gets paid to defend the case.

The district will end up paying way more than just settling the case or admitting wrong.  So reset button and hear we go again!

We have always asked the board what the true costs are and admit that district funds are paying for this not insurance, etc.

The board doesn't care- too absorbed in self that nobody else matters.

PAZ AND SCRIBNER: YOU KNEW ABOUT MIA HALL!

As previously reported, Mia Hall got promoted for being the brain child of bullying, harassment and discrimination.  We thought this was an open-shut case but FWISD never stops surprising us.

Paz and Scribner both knew about her because of the investigation and mainly because Paz was involved in hearing the complaints from teachers who came forward.  David Saenz investigated this matter and suddenly Hall is gone from the school but no information is released except by us.  She goes quietly with nothing more than a vacation until we find out she got promoted.  When was the position posted?  How many interviewed?  Can we get the EEOC here right away?  Creating positions to cover up-

How can you both sleep at night?  If it was your children you would be mad as hell but because the children are not yours and you care more about your political life it doesn't matter... #studentlivesdon't matter to Paz and Scribner.

We hope the voters will remind you as you come up for re-election and know we will be right there to remind people about your lack of concern for human life.. the very students you seem to use when it suits you..Guess the TCU education you are getting is not helping you at all...

Scribner.. won't waste more time as we know you are a failure... so when you preach we are here for all students, LIAR.  This bring us to the the whole transgender issue.. why did you bring it up?  Why now?  The district was doing well with the procedures in place since 2011 and yet you brought it up, putting our children in danger, to score political points?  Then you can't even do management 101 and discuss it with all stakeholders before you make the decision, how stupid can you be?
Our LGBT students were already being cared for with the current policy, now you have made them targets of the right wing extremists and for what? BAM Ramos is included because he defends you left and right.

Yet you all drink together and in bed together- so our students are the ones being hurt.  Karma can't get here soon enough!

Mia Hall promoted to Director of Policy and Planning

So the Fort Worth way prevails as yet again promotion based on misconduct. So the first policy she will write is no matter what policy or federal law you break you get promoted with no questions asked. Will she defend now the same policy she broke against LGBT students, bullying. Etc? 
The system once again fails our students and no one standing up. Thank you Dr Sutherland for checking. 

Disgrace in the strongest terms and yet the board says nothing because she is protected by the same people who break policies.

SAY IT ISN'T SO FWISD: MIA HALL

We got a comment in one of our stories that Mia Hall may still have a job in FWISD.  We reported when the investigation was conducted for workplace bullying for violating federal laws towards LGBT students and so forth, that she was gone from YWLA.  We see that another person has taken the helm and we noticed that her name was not on any board actions before the mini-break.

But according to HR sources, there is an agenda item for a Director of Equity, the department created for Sherry Breed Equity and Excellence.

This would be such a big slap in the face of the employees and students Mia hurt if she is allowed to be promoted after the investigation.  You can't tell us that there is not one ounce of logic from the very people that are getting famous behind our LGBT students.  She threatened to tell parents about students who are lesbian or transgender which is exactly what Scribner is fighting for, she did what the Paxton and the AG wanted.  Which lives matter?

If this is true, we hope that parents will got to the ACLU or someone who cares about our district, will file suit so that the leaders wake up.  Time and time again the people connected get away with things no matter how egregious.  We know Mia is protected by Moss, Jackson and Breed so I guess it wouldn't surprise us if she is on the agenda.

So if she is to be Director of Equity, how can she perform her duties when she wasn't even equitable at her previous job.  When did this position come about?  Who interviewed?  As Sutherland has stated, who is doing the hiring?

Dr. Sutherland please check on this and don't let this be put on the back burner.  Our students deserve better and certainly taxpayers who are just paying and paying for extra jobs that are not needed.  We are sure Breed can do the job on her own, what is there to do with Equity and Excellence?

Scribner, we had some hope left but now with this and the lack of leadership, you are a complete failure.

Let's hope Mia is out as she should be....
